In this episode of the SimplyRevised Podcast, we explore Matthew 6:1–4, where Jesus challenges His followers to give without seeking recognition. Today we contrasts Kingdom giving with public performance, reminding us that true righteousness isn't about being seen—it's about being faithful. We'll explore: • Why Jesus warns against giving “with trumpets” • How generosity reflected covenant faithfulness in Scripture • What it means to give in secret—and be seen by God Join us as we consider three simple ways to cultivate hidden generosity in today's world.

In this episode, I am joined by one of my favorite scholars in the public square, Robert Wright, the editor of the Nonzero Newsletter. This is a captivating discussion about artificial intelligence, consciousness, and the future of humanity. We explore Wright's extensive work, including 'Nonzero,' 'The Evolution of God,' and 'Why Buddhism is True,' while delving into the intersections of science, religion, and philosophy. Discover the implications of AI for humanity, the critical role of international cooperation in technology governance, and the moral and spiritual dimensions needed to navigate rapid technological changes. The conversation also addresses the complexities of sentience, cognitive empathy, and the evolutionary drives in AI, with insights from philosophers like Teilhard de Chardin and Alfred North Whitehead. Robert Wright is president of The Nonzero Foundation. He is the author, most recently, of Why Buddhism Is True. His previous book, The Evolution of God (2009), was a New York Times bestseller and a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. His other books include The Moral Animal, Nonzero, and Three Scientists and Their Gods. He has written for Time, Slate, The Atlantic, The New Yorker, The New Republic, The New York Times Magazine, Foreign Policy, and the op-ed pages of The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Financial Times. In 2009 Foreign Policy magazine named him as one of the top 100 global thinkers. He has taught courses in philosophy and religion at Princeton and the University of Pennsylvania. He is Visiting Professor of Science and Religion at Union Theological Seminary in New York, and is editor-in-chief of the websites Bloggingheads.tv and MeaningofLife.tv. A few weeks ago, I partnered with the Center for Open and Relational Theology & St. Andrew UMC to put on the first preaching conference for Open and Relational Preachers! It was TONS of fun and I got to meet some amazing clergy. In the first segment, I am joined by Dr. Casey Sigmon & Dr. Nichole Torbitzky to give a process theological reflection of the liturgical shape of worship. Then Jeff Wells, Tom Oord, and Vikki Randall join Nicole and I to discuss their new book Preaching the Uncontrolling Love of God. For decades, millions of Christians have been leaving church behind. Among those who have stayed, not only individuals, but entire congregations are rejecting traditions that fail to address the challenges of our contemporary world. They yearn, instead, for a profound relationship with the ever-present God who is loving, inclusive, persuasive, and uncontrolling. This rich and diverse collection of sermons, essays, and worship elements explores how to preach, teach, and practice Open, Relational, and Process theological perspectives in local faith communities. It is a powerful resource for pastors, ministers of worship arts, lay church leaders, professors of preaching, worship, and practical theology, and anyone seeking a deep understanding of God that aligns with the Bible, science, and inclusive love and justice for all life on Earth. A Year of Prayer: A Renewed Longing for the Grace of God || Join us as Pastor Jason walks us through Psalm 51 and a renewed longing, appreciation, and understanding of grace.
Paul Tripp, in his penetrating book, Instruments in the Redeemers Hands, wrote the following: “There is an undeniable root and fruit connection between our heart and our behavior. People and situations do not determine our behavior; they provide the occasion where our behavior reveals our hearts…An idol of the heart is anything that rules me other than God…” Join us as we unwrap this challenging insight.Focus scriptures: Romans 7:15, James 1:3-4, John 10:10, 1 Peter 5:8-9, Ephesians 6:13-16, 2 Chronicles 20:15 Support the show
In the upcoming episode, Aba Al-Sadiq (From Him Is Peace) is joined by the insightful guest, Runa. The video explores the relationship between religion and politics, specifically focusing on Socrates and Imam Mahdi. The Qaim Aba Al-Sadiq Abdullah Hashem, discusses how Prophet Mohammed mentioned Aristotle as a prophet sent to Europe in Islamic traditions and narrations. The conversation involves a European citizen, Runa, who is a descendant of the Greeks and Romans, highlighting the influence of their ideologies on the region. The influence of Plato on Aristotle's philosophical thinking and his impact on Western thought is also discussed. This fresh perspective leads us to consider Socrates and Plato as prophets, whose wisdom went unacknowledged by their contemporaries. As we covered in previous episodes, it was the dream of all prophets and messengers to be with the Mahdi, or at least pave the way for his Divine Just State, an ideal society or utopia, and it is apparent that Socrates, Plato & Aristotle, all shared and worked for that dream to come into fruition. Lastly, we'll evaluate whether Socrates meets the three criteria that help identify a messenger of God Join us in this episode with Aba Al-Sadiq (From Him Is Peace) and his disciple Runa. We trust you'll find it both illuminating and thought-provoking.
How often do we get in trouble as believers because we're comfortable in life-- Often times, we can be blinded by sin and unfaithfulness to what's important in life. In Amos 6, God is pronouncing a woe to the Jews because of their false contentment. God had just chastised the Jews because of their false worship. They were just going through the motions and grew comfortable, no longer thinking critically, but living contrary to God's will and being fine with that. If we claim to be God's, are we currently living life, day by day, being content with not pleasing God-- Join us as we listen to Pastor Patrick Cross teach from Amos 6-1, 6-7 as we try to answer these questions. If you end up being comfortable with living a life that does not please God, does that bother you-- If so, what are you willing to do about it--

The people in the Old Testament under the Law was not born again, and they did not have the ability to live the God kind of life as we know it to day as a result of God the father sending his son Jesus Christ to die for the sins of the whole world . If you have excepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you know things in your born again human spirit that you human mind could ever know , that's why Romans 12:1-2 says be transformed by the renewing of your mind as our minds are renewed though putting the truth of the word of God in our hearts we introduce our minds or thought life to the reality of the living God . Please try to remember that everything that Jesus did though his life, death and resurrection was never for himself, but was for mankind and that means male and female, boy and girl . The people in the Old Testament never knew this truth as a reality because at that time Jesus had not yet came in the flesh and died for the sins of the world yet . For example at that time the only way to be were God was, you had to go to Jerusalem and present yourself to the priest and offer up sacrifices according to the Law of Moses, But for us today after Jesus has came a payed the price for the sins of the word, God is every were though the Holy Spirit , Old Testament believers who were not born again never knew this kind of relationship with God Join me in this study and see this bible truth in a brand new light . in other words allow the Holy Spirit to expand your joy, and understanding of the word of God in this wonderful area of bible truth . enjoy
