Erie encounters at the Pioneer Saloon and the Goldfield Hotel were just the beginning of our spooky adventures, but the real ghosts were the missed connections and collaborations from our past. That all changed when Austin Alvarez of Bizarre Junkeez fame joined the fray, and together, we've woven a tapestry of tales ranging from the supernatural to the deeply personal. Our latest episode is a roller coaster through the highs and lows of the music industry, the transformation from musician to promoter, and finally, to podcaster navigating the demands of fatherhood and a "big boy job."

Interview with Kathleen Berry, the author of A Reluctant Spirit: A True Tale of God, Ghosts and a Skeptical Christian, 2013. video of the interviewe https://youtu.be/e0Z_l9ah7So www.kathleenberry.com Kathleen Berry talks about her experiences with departed spirits—ghosts—particularly at the haunted Goldfield Hotel in Nevada. Formerly a skeptic and Born Again Christian, she expanded her understanding of God and the afterlife due to encounters with entities. She learned how to deal with spirits: offer a prayer of protection, offer tobacco, be respectful, tell them what you'd like. There are nice and mean ones just like us.

Kathleen Berry author of A Reluctant Spirit: A True Tale of God, Ghosts and a Skeptical Christian. Kathleen Berry, "Both a skeptic and fear-filled Christian, I was the unlikeliest of characters to delve into the spirit world. At night, I shut the closet door tight, so I couldn't glance into its black void. I averted my eyes at every frightening point of horror movies. And I listened to the pulpit preach the evils of mediums and seeking out the paranormal. I believed all psychics were frauds or influenced by the devil and ghosts were only delusions manifested by the weak and simple. Despite this, in 2007, I found myself in the preposterous situation of spending the night in reputedly one of the nation's most haunted hotels: the long-shuttered Goldfield Hotel in central Nevada. I went with the TV news crew from KTVN-Reno and three ghost hunters. My role? Impartial observer. Or so I thought. That one night pulverized my small, more-easy-to-contain reality and greatly expanded my spiritual and religious beliefs. Ghosts do exist. Polite, cranky, sympathetic and desperately sad ones. I experienced them intimately as they engaged my senses of sight, touch, smell and hearing. The result is my memoir, A Reluctant Spirit: A True Tale of God, Ghosts and a Skeptical Christian."
