Hector Santiago is a candidate for Detroit City Council to represent District 6. Sprawling from most of the west of greater downtown Detroit, down the riverfront to Fort and Outer Drive, and up again to Oakman Boulevard and Grand River. It's probably one of Detroit's most diverse districts, with approximately 40 percent Latino, 40 percent African American and 20 percent white residents. From skyscrapers to industrial complexes and everything in between, District 6 has everything. As always with these candidate conversations, we are not doing endorsements. It's an open door to any candidate on the ballot who wants to be on and my only ask is that you be part of the process and vote. For more on Hector Santiago: https://www.hectorsantiagofordetroit.com/

This is D.C. Lundberg's final episode of Locked On Mariners, but much of the show is largely the same as it ever was. The Mariners executed another trade Thursday night, acquiring relief pitcher Diego Castillo from the Tampa Bay Rays for JT Chargois (whom D.C. dubbed "The Avocado") and minor league infielder Austin Shenton. D.C. talks about the three players involved. Unfortunately, the Mariners have another PED suspension on their hands, and it's a man who's had a very rocky season: Hector Santiago. After glossing over that news, D.C. talks about the Cleveland Indians' impending name change, and also ties it in with a northwest team, his hometown Spokane Indians. At the end of the show, D.C. explains why he is leaving the show, and also thanks those who have made his tenure on Locked On Mariners possible and enjoyable. Learn more about your ad choices. In a jam packed episode today, Tim “The Ferds” alongside Keith Hernandez tackle a boatload of topics heading into the weekend of July 4th. Tim and Keith briefly touch on Hector Santiago being the first pitcher tossed and than suspended for sticky stuff. Tim makes the case for Shohei Ohtani being the American League MVP even if Ohtani were to get hurt today and not play a game for the remainder of the season. Keith owns up that he missed on Kyle Schwarber earlier this season but he explains why the Nationals. The guys talk about Trevor Bauer and the allegations made against him but they more importantly talk about what this means for the Dodgers if Bauer is unavailable to pitch for an extended period of time. The guys also talk about Josh Donaldson calling out Lucas Giolito and the trade rumors surrounding Donaldson. Keith and Tim both give some landing spots for the veteran third basemen. Keith tries to explain how Ronald Acuna Jr. always gets hit when the Braves play the Marlins. Finally the guys give us their fantasy pickups, beat the streak picks and of course a series they are looking forward to.

The NCAA is an absolute JOKE. Shame on them for ruining NC States national title run. MLB power rankings. Just go ahead and put Ohtani in the hall of fame already. Hector Santiago got boned over harder than Riley Reid. This new MLB substance check needs to have clearer guidelines on what and when should checks and suspensions happen. Trade talks of course, and lots more bullshit to be discussed. Oh yeah, and a merch updated, sheeshhhhhhhhh. D.C. was rather salty in this episode at times. Maybe it's the heat. In any case, the Mariners got blown out by the Toronto/Buffalo Blue Jays yesterday afternoon, but that's not the lead story. Hector Santiago was suspended 10 games by Major League Baseball for using an illegal glove. D.C. reacts, and he's not very pleased. He also wasn't pleased by what the bullpen did yesterday, and one certain relief pitcher has earned his ire. D.C. goes off Rafael Montero in the final segment of the day.
