LA's Kommand base their sound around death metal's crusty early years, when bands like Nihilist and Bolt Thrower still retained their punk rawness - a background that Kommand has in common with those legendary acts. I spoke with guitarist Ian Logan about how Kommand arose from his previous band Hoax, and how he feels about death metal fans saying that these former hardcore punks should "stay in their own lane". We also spoke about how his riff-writing style changed for their second album Death Age, and whether their war-themed lyrics are inspired by the History Channel. Non-chill filtered and cask strength. --- The Aberlour distillery, in the Scottish highlands, was founded in 1879 by James Fleming. It's situated in the picturesque area of Speyside, where the Lour burn joins the River Spey. The single malt whisky is made from natural spring water from the surrounding hillside and matured in sherry casks to give them a rich, crisp and fruity flavour.

#InGoodTaste recently journeyed up to Speyside in the Scottish Highlands to visit the famous Aberlour distillery. Whilst we were there, Ian Logan took us into the hills and to the springs which provide the water for their award-winning single malts.

Time to shatter some long-cherished myths and legends about Bourbon, and Michael Veach will serve as our myth-buster this week. He's the Bourbon historian at Louisville's Filson Historical Society, and is also a member of the Bourbon Hall of Fame.
