Halsey is an award-winning singer and songwriter from New Jersey. She's been nominated for two Grammys, and sold over a million records. In August, she released her fourth album, If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power, which was produced by the Grammy and Oscar winning duo of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross from Nine Inch Nails. Halsey wrote one of the songs on the album, "You Asked for This," with Greg Kurstin, who's won 8 Grammys himself, including Producer of the Year. In this episode, Halsey tells the story of making this song while pregnant with her son, and how that shaped the lyrics and the music. For more, visit songexploder.net/halsey.

Já sabemos que ela diz o que pensa, mas melhor ainda é ouvir a Halsey cantar sobre o que pensa. Neste The Listening ouvimos melancolia, intensidade, música que parece crua, nuances punk pop e a voz inconfundível.
What's up Witches!? On this week's episode I decided to take a look at the singer, Halsey's natal chart. During this episode I'll do a little bit of a deep dive on Halsey's personality and certain aspects of her life and how this relates to her popularity and fame. I hope you all enjoy and learn something new from this episode! And if you don't know who Halsey is, they are a singer/song writer most commonly known for their songs "New Americana" and "Bad At Love". More recently, they just put out an album called "If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power" which I believe is available to listen to on most music streaming platforms. **Disclaimer** I believe that natal charts are a very personal and private thing. Please note that Halsey was not in this episode to confirm or deny anything that I brought up in this episode. That being said, please know that none of the information that I disclose in this episode is a FACT and just purely my personal interpretation of the placements within Halsey's natal chart. I also did my best to respect Halsey's privacy with this episode and I hope that I was able to give this chart justice in the most honorable and respectful way possible. What's Up Witches!? Today on the show I'll be answering a common question that I've been getting lately which is "Should I use the Placidus or whole house system when reading a natal chart?" During this episode I explain what the house systems are, what these particular house systems are, how they differ, and finally answering the question "Which one should I use?" This pod covers: A reasonably detailed analysis of the singer Halsey's birth chart My Website: www.spacewitchastrology.org/services Instagram: @thewhitneykatherine Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/spacewitchastrology E-mail: spacewitchpodcast@gmail.com
For the past four years, Greg has been playing the role of John Frusciante (“Non Frusciante”) in the Red Not Chili Peppers. This past weekend, they played at the Harrisburg Midtown Arts Center & Nick drove up to check out the show. The segment begins and ends with a retelling of the evening's adventures, with a solid “what it's like playing in a tribute band” discussion smack in the middle.Song: Morphine - “Buena”Greg brings us two new albums to check out this week. Halsey created a tight & unsettling vibe on “If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power”, produced by Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross. Halsey delivers an albums worth of powerful songs and it's particularly worth a listen if you like what Reznor & Ross do with most of the music they touch. Meanwhile, Baltimore's Turnstile deliver a perfect end-of-the-summer bright and heavy rock album with “Glow On”. Greg's particularly excited about this album and we discuss the bands rise in ranks alongside Power Trip & Code Orange.Songs:Halsey - “Girl is a Gun”Turnstile - “Blackout”Jay, joining us from his vacation in Ocean City, wants to talk about Robert Plant. In the years since Led Zeppelin broke up, Plant has produced 11 solo albums. Jay recently decided to give some a try and was immediately impressed by the quality of the songwriting. The experience has left him inspired by Plant's burning desire to rediscover himself in his music and constantly rethink his sound. It's a great conversation.Songs:Robert Plant - “29 Palms”Robert Plant - “Freedom Fries”
