It's our 80th episode, cruisers—20 away from the big 100! KP and Tobi are back with their usual antics, ready to break down the latest in music and pop culture like only they can. This week, it's all about the music. We talk about our excitement for Wizkid's upcoming album Morayo and break down his record-shattering first-day Spotify NG streams. The conversation takes a spicy turn as we discuss stream farming, with KP boldly saying, “Na who dem catch be thief.”We also get into the Grammy nominations, giving flowers to Tems, Yemi Alade and Rema, and debating Album of the Year. From there, we zoom out to talk about Nigerian artists getting their due on the global stage, with a spotlight on Shabooze's A Bar Song (Tipsy) and its Billboard success.Of course, we couldn't skip Siraheem's viral anthem Bad Bitch Syndrome. But it's not all lighthearted. We dig into serious issues like trolling, misogyny in the music industry, and the glaring accessibility problems in Nigeria that demand more attention. This episode blends the fun, the insightful, the unapologetically real and all the energy you've come to love. If you're listening, drop us a review, share your thoughts, and join the conversation using #CruisingOutwest.Follow us for more updates:@cruisingoutwest@KpFawehinmi@tobiskokoLet's keep the conversation going.

In episode 194 of Top Hill, we start by paying tribute to the legendary Frankie Beverly. We dive into the controversy surrounding young artist Tyla and whether she is being perceived as an "uppity African" after winning Best Afrobeat, despite not being an Afrobeat artist. We also react to Tems explaining the origin of Afrobeat from Nigeria, explore incredible African mansion tours, and much more!
In this episode, the Afrobeats Avengers are joined by Grammy Award-winning producer Tejiri Akpoghene.Long before Future, Drake, and Tems' track “Wait for U” was nominated for two Grammy Awards in 2023, Tejiri had already envisioned his moment of Grammy recognition. Though unsure of how it would unfold, his belief never wavered. This conviction has fueled his inspiring journey through the music industry. He discusses honing his craft from childhood, learning from Dede Mabiaku and Cobhams Asuquo, the creative scene at Covenant University, creating Tems' “Higher,” and navigating life after his Grammy win.Watch the video episode here. The gang is back in effect! We've been away from each other so obviously we had to catch up. After some weekend small talk, we get to the important things - when did we start caring about who celebrities sleep with (14:15)? Meanwhile, Mandii is going viral for critiquing Meek Mill, and we take the opportunity to give Meek his well deserved flowers and compare him to some of his peers (19:33). Meanwhile another list is out, this time about the top 10 Atlanta anthems, and we ignorant northerners tear it apart (33:01). Lil Baby got arrested in Vegas, and the crew predicts Demaris will follow in his footsteps next when she and Rory visit next weekend (39:00). Tems brings a misinterpreted lyric to our attention, and we share about a time we waited for a significant other (48:14). SZA didn't even attempt to help a fan with math homework, and every one on staff pretends they never DM'D a celebrity before (53:12). We have voicemails! The first is from a guy that is stuck in Side Piece Land (1:07:28), and the second is from a guy sad about getting ghosted (1:15:30).
