On y trouve pêle-mêle une mannequin sud-africano-nigériane, rejetée par l'Afrique du Sud mais élue miss univers Nigeria, l'entrepreneur le plus riche d'Afrique Aliko Dankote, le ballon d'or africain de l'année Ademola Lookman né en Angleterre, qui joue à l'Atalanta de Bergame et qui appartient à la sélection nationale du Nigéria qu'il a porté en finale de la CAN – coupe d'Afrique des nations. La liste intègre aussi un entrepreneur de la tech nigériane Tosin Eniolorunda dont la société Moniepoint est une licorne, c'est à dire valorisée à plus d'un milliard de dollars, et enfin la chanteuse Tems, triplement nominée aux Grammy Awards 2025. La croissance de la population explique-t-elle les faiblesses de son développement et notamment le drame de la faim qui s'y joue encore ? Les « clans nigérians » sont ils une facette de la « gangstérisation du monde » et des opportunités criminelles offertes par la la mondialisation ? et ce pays, qui candidate à l'entrée dans le groupe des BRICS+ peut-il obtenir la reconnaissance internationale attendue en tant que grande puissance du Sud Global ?

West Side hip-hop group Pivot Gang will take the stage at Millennium Park on Sept. 20 as the group headlines Vocalo's Summer Finale, a concert celebrating Chicago's music scene and the final days of summer. For many of the members, this will be their first time performing at the Pritzker Pavilion, and they plan to debut some new songs during the set. On Sept. 20, the group, composed of Saba, Joseph Chilliams, MFnMelo, Frsh Waters and Dae Dae, will also be celebrating the birthday of band member Squeak, who was tragically killed in 2021. The group sat down with Vocalo host Nudia Hernandez to play some of their favorite songs from Chief Keef, Tems and Mk.Gee — plus premiere their new single out Oct. 3. They also delved into green room necessities, pre-show rituals and what fans can expect from the Summer Finale performance.
