Альбом с прикольным названием Вы уверены в том, что эти три парня знают что делают? оказался на самом деле очень веселым и он будет полезен всем начинающим джазменам. Mon invité d'aujourd'hui a travaillé pour le Club Med de 1971 à 1988. Sa première saison s'est déroulée au Club Med de Potiragnes, dans le sud de la France, en tant que chef d'orchestre. Il a également été animateur, chorégraphe, Resp. Trafic, chef d'animation, chef des sports, Resp. Chalet d'altitude et de 1981 à 1988, il a été chef de village. Aidez-moi à accueillir, s'il vous plaît, Robert «Bébert» Herin! Avant le Club Med, Robert avait un orchestre qui tournait beaucoup et il écrivait aux hôtels pour trouver du travail pour son orchestre. C'est sa sœur qui lui a suggéré de contacter le Club Med et le reste appartient à l'histoire. Robert a travaillé dans des villages tels que Cefalù, Corfou Ipsos, Pakostane, Malabata, Sveti Marko (pour n'en citer que quelques-uns) et il a également participé à l'ouverture du village de l'île Maurice en 1973/1974! En tant que chef de village, Robert a travaillé dans quatorze villages différents, y compris dans la zone américaine, et il nous fait part de quelques anecdotes intéressantes sur ces lieux exotiques. Sa première saison en tant que chef des sports s'est déroulée à Al Hoceima en 1976, où il s'est blessé à la jambe, mais où il a également rencontré sa future épouse, qui était G.M. Один из лучших ритм дуэтов - басист Leon Lee Dorsey и барабанщик Mike Clark записали шестой альбом, приглашая в трио разных музыкантов. Альбомы с пианистами Mike LeDonne и покойным Harold Mabern были на моем обзоре. В этот раз выбор пал на гитариста Russell Malone, который сочетает в себе стилистики Wes Montgomery и George Benson. Девять прекрасных стандартов начиная фанковым Cantaloupe Island, который Кларк играл в 70х годах с Herbie Hancock, и заканцивая спокойной и свежей аранжировкой пьесы The Thumb Уэса Монтгомери. Мне так же понравилась прекрасная версия баллады Рэя Ноубла The Very Thought of You и инструментальная версия песни Принца Thieves in the Temple. Альбом звучит свободно и свежо, как документ опытных ветеранов, наслаждающихся обществом друг друга, когда они работают над классикой. Стоит отметить две вещи Хораса Силвера, которые придают альбому латинский оттенок, но с танцевальным свингом. This week we dive into the jazz era and give you the life story of Chan Parker. Since the day she was born Chan Parker always had a deep passion for music. With parents involved in the nightclub scene, Chan spent her early years seeing legends such as Rosetta Tharpe, Cab Calloway and Duke Ellington perform at all the hot New York clubs. By the time she was 20 she was very well known and admired in the Jazz/Swing scene, and was lovingly dubbed "The Queen of Swing Street". While Chan had many musical admirers over the years it was saxophonist Charlie "Bird" Parker, who first captured her heart. Being an interracial couple in the 1940's wasn't easy and neither was life with Charlie. Bird suffered from mental illness which was exacerbated by his substance abuse issues. Chan did all she could for Charlie before his passing at age 34. Following Charlie Chan fell for yet another saxophonist, Phil Woods, who she would go on to marry. Listen to hear Chans story. Ernie "Bubbles" Whitman welcomes The International Sweethearts of Rhythm (17 woman integrated band), Ethel Waters, The Four Vees, Johnny Mercer, and comedian Nickodemus to this 1944 Armed Forces Radio Service Broadcast. Intro has some background on the show, but it was primarily targeted at African American soldiers during WW II to help build morale.
