As someone who knows a lot about tapping, it's natural to want to share that knowledge with others, but sometimes we don't have the opportunity. This is especially true when dealing with a crisis in the moment, when we are working with children, or both. In this podcast Jondi Whitis and I talk about how to approach either of these situations and she shares strategies to avoid over-explaining or attempting to do too much, plus a simple formula for how we can be most helpful in the moment. The conversation is based on the book [Emotional First-Aid For Children}(https://amzn.to/3eaFesl) that Jondi co-wrote with Deborah Miller. If you spend time with children, this book is a must-have! Jondi went out west on the Oregon Trail so we're talking about games that you can play when you only have your phone, just like the settlers did in the 1800s! Are app versions of board games the future, or just a weird gimmick? Probably a little of both.

There are so many board games based on TV shows but 85% of them are space or sci-fi TV shows. Jondi is dying in this episode, which is our first episode recorded "on-the-road" with the new "mobile studio," aka we put all of the equipment in a mobile studio rack and now I can carry a 300lbs box around yay.

There are lots of great games that are available for free (or at least just the cost of printer paper and ink). Some are homebrew, some are games that are available to print as a demo, and some are just weird. And I cannot stress just how much Jondi hates Werewolf.

We all know the struggle of playing games that seem to drag on for far too long.  Sure, many times the issue is that you're just learning it, or maybe someone has issues with strategy.  But sometimes, the games are to blame.  While Jared really enjoys games that can take entire days, Jondi does not.

33% Off Pain Relief Miracle One of the reasons that we love tapping so much is its versatility. Because we can use tapping in so many different settings it can often be confusing to know exactly how to tap in a given moment. For example, there is a huge difference between tapping with someone who is emotional in a public setting versus working with a client one-on-one in the safety of a practitioner's private office. Our primary goal when tapping with someone in a public setting or when we have limited time to deal with an issue is to return the person we are working with to a state of calm. By doing this we can keep them safe and also avoid uncovering a bigger issue that can't be resolved in the moment. Jondi Whitis has created a wonderful process, which she refers to as emotional first aid, which is a systematic way of helping someone to an emotionally safe space in public or in a short amount of time. In this week's podcast she shares how the process came about and how you can ensure that you are tapping with others in a safe way. Conversation with: Jondi Whitis Jondi's Contact: web @ EFT4Results.com; About Jondi: Jondi Whitis is a certified EFT Master Trainer, Practitioner, Mentor and Board Member for AAMET International, delighting in creating practitioners of excellence. For this discussion, our panellists delved into the idea of galleries as ‘testing spaces’ for risk, experiment, play and speculation. Following an introduction from RMIT Design Hub curator Fleur Watson, artist and landscape architect Charles Anderson and arts academic Jondi Keane exchanged ideas about their new RMIT Design Hub exhibition slash laboratory space: Technics & Touch: Body-Matter-Machine. The experimental project explores methods of producing feedback systems through perception and action cycles—and by working alongside a robot. Using their temporary lab as a springboard, Charles and Jondi will explore how gallery spaces can present exciting opportunities for autonomous intelligence systems to interact with performers and the public—meaning further interactions between arts organisations and new technology. Will this change the function of gallery spaces as we know them? And how will the artist’s role change with these developments?

Born and bred in Washington, Keith Harris (a.k.a. Deckard) started DJ-ing in 2000, at venues and clubs in Seattle and Canada. He moved to San Francisco in 2005 where his skills and talent evolved and became even more prolific, garnering interest and accolade and earning him a spot in the underground music scene. Deckard made his big splash as a member of Coda in 2006 at Burning Man. When it comes to using EFT effectively I think that Jondi Whitis is one of the best. She is insightful, deliberate, and so compassionate. (She is also a great trainer if you are looking to up your tapping game.) Every year she hosts a wonderful event outside NYC called the Spring Energy Event. (You should join the mailing list and come along next year!) This year she gave a talk called "The Heart Of EFT!" It was one of the most thoughtful reflections I could imagine on the healing process. As I was sitting at the sound board making sure everyone could hear her clearly my thought was, "I have to share this on the podcast!" Jondi was kind enough to allow me to share her talk here. Take your time to savor this, it will inform not only the way you tap and the way you work, but also how you interact with others. It is good stuff!

We do not live in a vacuum. We are impacted by the issues others struggle with and vice versa. The healing process is also not something that takes place independently of others. Often our fastest route to healing is by walking that journey with others. Jondi Whitis has seen the impact of trauma on a community and the impact of a community on an individual’s trauma firsthand. She has worked with both the families of those directly impacted by the New Town shooting and also with veterans and veterans’ groups around the issue of PTSD. In this interview she shares what she has learned from this work, what can be applied to our own healing process, and how we can reach out to others. There is a great deal of wisdom to be learned from Jondi’s experiences. I encourage you to listen and take advantage of it.
