The Trauma Therapist | Podcast with Guy Macpherson, PhD | Inspiring interviews with thought-leaders in the field of trauma is an exceptional podcast that provides valuable insights into the world of trauma therapy. Hosted by Guy Macpherson, a skilled interviewer, this podcast offers thought-provoking conversations with a variety of experts in the field. The value of this podcast lies not only in the answers provided by the guests but also in the quality of the questions asked by Guy. His sharp, well-intentioned, and genuinely curious approach makes each conversation interesting and engaging.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is Guy's ability to bring out the best in his interviews. Unlike other interviewers who may focus too much on themselves or become repetitive, Guy remains focused on his guests and their expertise. He creates a space for them to share their knowledge and experiences without overshadowing them. This allows listeners to gain valuable insights from professionals who have dedicated their lives to helping those impacted by trauma.

Another great aspect of this podcast is its relevance and up-to-dateness. As someone working in the field of trauma therapy for over 2 decades, I find it pivotal in keeping me engaged and informed about emerging science and innovative approaches to trauma treatment. It provides both new providers and experienced practitioners with a solid foundation in following cutting-edge approaches to trauma treatment. The podcast also raises important questions about health and wellness that are crucial for professionals working in this field.

On the downside, there have been some negative reviews recently that accuse Guy of unethical behavior and providing a platform for an alleged abuser. However, it is essential to address these concerns directly. Guy firmly states that he takes harassment seriously and will not tolerate any form of abuse towards himself or his community. He also denies knowingly inviting someone who has committed abusive behavior onto his podcast. These negative reviews seem misinformed and malicious rather than addressing the actual content of the podcast itself.

In conclusion, The Trauma Therapist | Podcast with Guy Macpherson, PhD | Inspiring interviews with thought-leaders in the field of trauma is a highly recommended podcast for anyone interested in trauma therapy. Guy's thoughtful questions and genuine curiosity create a space for experts to share their knowledge and experiences. The podcast offers valuable insights into trauma treatment and keeps listeners engaged with up-to-date research and innovative approaches. Despite recent negative reviews, this podcast remains a valuable resource in the field of trauma therapy.

Lauren Auer is a Trauma Therapist who has built a community of nearly 200,000 followers by sharing what she's learned from seeing trauma from every possible angle.Lauren's path into trauma work was unintentional. What started as a graduate school internship at an agency working with both juvenile offenders and abuse victims turned into a career-defining passion. She discovered she loved the complexity of seeing trauma from multiple perspectives - working with victims, offenders, and their families gave her a unique understanding of how trauma ripples through every layer of experience. From there, Lauren worked at a women's domestic violence shelter and eventually became director of a rape crisis center, where she provided therapy to people of all ages while also training police and medical staff. She's been in emergency rooms doing immediate crisis intervention and in therapy rooms with people processing childhood trauma decades later. This breadth of experience - from the immediate aftermath of trauma to long-term healing - shaped her understanding that trauma isn't one-size-fits-all.Lauren is trained in EMDR, certified in Brainspotting, and holds certifications in Somatic Trauma Healing and Compassion Fatigue. Her approach reflects what she learned in those early years: every person's trauma looks different, so every person's healing needs to look different too.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-trauma-therapist--5739761/support.---Thank you for listening! If you want to support the show, I've got three options and every bit helps.$5.00 PayPalhttps://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/NPKS32G8KVSN2$10.00 PayPalhttps://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/495AMDFXQFC3L$15.00 PayPalhttps://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/M7V5RREUKVD8JThank you to our Sponsors: Jane App - use code GUY1MO at https://jane.app (https://jane.app/book_a_demo)Novo Psych - novopsych.com/traumapodcast

Angie is a U.S. Army veteran and trauma-informed coach whose work is shaped by firsthand experience with psychiatric injury and recovery. After serving seven years as a signal specialist, including a deployment to Iraq, she was medically discharged due to severe illness and PTSD and became dangerously overmedicated. Her withdrawal and recovery journey was documented in the film Medicating Normal, for which she later led a nationwide grassroots outreach effort engaging more than 180 audiences. Today, she supports individuals navigating medication withdrawal and trauma related to overmedication, working with those harmed by the very system they turned to for help, and advocating for meaningful change in mental health care.In This EpisodeAngie's websiteAngie's coachingAngie on IGBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-trauma-therapist--5739761/support.---Thank you for listening! If you want to support the show, I've got three options and every bit helps.$5.00 PayPalhttps://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/NPKS32G8KVSN2$10.00 PayPalhttps://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/495AMDFXQFC3L$15.00 PayPalhttps://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/M7V5RREUKVD8JThank you to our Sponsors: Jane App - use code GUY1MO at https://jane.app (https://jane.app/book_a_demo)
