JB is back from Perth, and Billy had a great night at the milkshake parlour of all places - he kicks things off with the All Sports Report, where he should probably listen to audio grabs before he throws to them. Collingwood's Roan Steele and Tarni White are in studio as the men prepare for Wildcard Round, and the women launch into their season - but Billy is particularly interested in where the name 'Roan' comes from. The Wacky World of William looks at a bizarre competition at the Iowa State Fair, then Josh Fraser calls in after officially being announced as Carlton's permanent senior coach. Jack Gunston and Bradley Hill are in studio together as they both play their 300th games this weekend - as Billy circles back to a personal question he asked Jack the last time he was in. Channel 7 Chief Footy Reporter Mitch Cleary calls in with the latest on the Sydney Swans sexual assault allegations. Billy's 5 at 5:05 has been moved to 5:45 - where his favourite moments of the Triple M Footy weekend include a new player nickname, and some former players trying their hands at commentary. Finally, Billy has another book related joke... and we're sensing a theme for the week.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Friday Huddle team is abuzz because it's The Chief's birthday! - But what are his plans for tonight? The boy roll through their favourite headlines of the week - including the one thing hotel workers hate their guests doing the most, and our old mate Chris Judd popping up on Sky News. Howie had an interesting experience using Facebook Marketplace, then Chief has two new movie monologues - both with very heavy accents. Superstar producer Herbie has discovered a new idea in a Finnish supermarket she thinks the Chief might be interested in, and our digital guru Jasper comes in to give the boys some fashion advice. Browny had an issue at the park with his dog, and Chief is all across the story of a man with a very well-used Landcruiser. Browny's Health Hotline looks at the foods most likely to give you food poisoning, and to celebrate the Logies Chief has a quiz about classic Aussie TV shows. Josh Fraser has firmed as the favourite to land the Carlton senior coaching role after officially applying this week, and there are media wars all over the place. Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir calls in ahead of their clash with the Crows tonight, then Browny lists his top 5 goal hungry players - and surprise surprise... they're all small forwards. Finally, it's not just Chief who's celebrating a birthday this week, Herbie has also made it another full year around the sun - but who of the Huddle team would she invite to her party?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This week it's NVIDIA Nemotron Ultra through Perplexity - my sub is running out soon. It made some pretty amazing mistakes and totally made up the references list at the end. I dunno, stick to making chips fellas cause this is a bit shit. Still, it's better than nothing. The clankers are still doing okay at the shownotes thing. Enjoy! --------SummaryMr. Insider and Hong Kong Jack open with the passing of Melbourne matriarch Kath Pettingill (91) and the grim, darkly comic history of the Pettingill–Allen clan — Dennis “Dr Death” Allen, the Stevenson Street fortress, and the Wall Street executions. They pivot to Victoria's suppression-order addiction (half the national total) and the Ralph Carr rape conviction that took 48 hours to un-suppress, then dissect IBAC's Operation Richmond into the UFU/CFA/FRV stitch-up — six years, no corruption findings, just “serious and concerning conduct.”Cross the border to NSW: ICAC's Operation Rosne is live, Jean‑Claude Perrottet is squirming in the box as Nassif's $2M bribe tapes play, and Jeremy Greenwood is ghosting from London. A detour through minority-government history (Gillard–Greens–Oakeshott–Windsor) segues into a housing-market stoush: banks forecasting −10%, the Budget saying +2%, and Tanya Plibersek claiming “best time ever for first‑home buyers.”The Cambridge sociologist Jason Arday unravels — non-verbal till 11, 600 miles in six days, 30 marathons in 35 days, a brain tumour, 7‑Up kid, £5.5M raised, AI‑written resignation letter — and the ABC's Four Corners hiring ex‑Mongol Mahmoud Fazal is flagged for next week. Fauci's diaries, RFK Jr.'s peptide purge, and COVID revisionism draw a furious rant. Ukraine's drone supremacy, PLA drone investment, and why NATO spending metrics miss the point.Sport: Trump's “club champ” grift, Geelong's secret concussion waiver (chaired by AFL Commission boss Craig Drummond), the wildcard-round tanking farce driven by betting partners, Tasmania signing Nigel Lappin, and Carlton's miraculous turnaround under Josh Fraser — Harry DeMattia, Jagga Smith, Wade Derksen, and a game plan now built on turnover footy. Matthew Stokes on club culture and troubled players. The Hundred's kid‑focused gimmickry, AFLW Ireland's skill explosion at North Sydney Oval, and a teaser on NRL/AFL media capture for next week.Timeline Time Segment0:25 Intro & Housekeeping – 7 Aug 2026, Hong Kong weather (“it's called summer”), Melbourne heat.1:18 Kath Pettingill & the Pettingill–Allen Dynasty – “Granny Evil” dies at 91; Dennis Allen (Mr Death), Peter Allen, Victor Pierce, Wall Street murders, Stevenson Street Richmond/Cremorne, Brian Murphy's $1,400/week payoff, chainsaws & 44‑gallon drums.7:03 Victoria's Suppression‑Order Addiction – >50% of national total; Ralph Carr (Dusty Martin's ex‑manager) convicted of raping employee; 48‑hour delay lifting suppression; “if you've got money you get away with it.”12:29 IBAC Operation Richmond (UFU/CFA/FRV) – Six‑year inquiry; “serious & concerning conduct” but no corrupt conduct; political fix for metropolitan/country fire boundary; “vanilla ICAC” vs NSW theatre; Dan Andrews' golf clubs.20:39 NSW ICAC Operation Rosne – Young Liberal operatives (Assaf, Ellis, Greenwood, Perrottet brothers); Jean Nassif ($2M bribe allegation, now in Lebanon), Michael O'Hara, Catholic Schools NSW (Dallas McInerney); targeting David Elliott & Building Commissioner David Chandler; Jean‑Claude Perrottet in the box, audio ambush.32:41 Minority Government & Coalitions of Convenience – Gillard–Greens–Oakeshott–Windsor “wedding ceremony”; Paul Kelly's verdict; “you don't need formal agreements”; Jim Cairns 1970s parallel; all the 2010 plotters now in gaming.40:52 Housing Market: Crash or Soft Landing? – Banks: −10% / $230B wiped; Budget: +2%; Tanya Plibersek's “best time ever” claim; negative equity, bank forbearance, 1990s commercial‑property playbook.46:30 Cambridge Professor Jason Arday: Fantasist or Fraud? – Youngest Black professor; didn't speak till 11, illiterate till 18, 600 miles/6 days, 30 marathons/35 days (last 9 with hairline fracture), 7‑Up claim, £5.5M raised (walked back), brain tumour during PhD; Cambridge defends, then folds; AI‑written resignation letter; Guardian pile‑on; “sociology standards are fuzzy.”51:23 ABC Four Corners & Mahmoud Fazal – Ex‑Mongols sergeant‑at‑arms hired; journalistic ethics vs “great life story”; teed up for next episode.56:34 Fauci, RFK Jr & COVID Revisionism – Fauci takes the Fifth; HHS servers now under Kennedy; “ICUs were empty” lie; double‑blind placebo ethics (Salk polio regret); FDA pulls six peptides off ban list with zero human data; “grifters at 4,000% markup”; healthcare workers threatened.1:04:05 Ukraine–Russia: Drone Wars & Asymmetric Shift – Ukrainians lead in AI‑guided, radar‑invisible drones; defender's advantage today ≠ tomorrow; PLA investing heavily; US big‑bureaucracy lag; Taiwan lesson — boots still needed.1:08:56 Golf: Trump's “Club Championship” – 80‑yo, 180‑yard drive, four‑handicap in prime; member confirms nudging, caddy collusion, card‑swapping; “four or five handicap? It was rarely pretty and it took us a while, but we found a way to break the dog clog. Time to Restump Podcast the minor premiership securing win over Bevo's Bullclogs.Apparently Bullies coach Luke Beveridge had no specific plan or intention to ensure our forward 50 metre arc resembled an RSPCA adoption dog shelter! The crowding and clogging “just played out that way.” Rightio Bevo, and bank robber Bill had no plan to roll the bank, he just donned the balaclava and shotgun to do his daily banking and it, “just played out that way.”To be fair to the dogs though, once Aaron Naughton was ruled out, they had no option and their only chance was to implement that clogging strategy, whether they care to admit it was intentional or otherwise. However, in doing so they actually did us a favour. If the dogs played their usual high offense game we would have destroyed them by half time, given their known struggles to defend and the cattle they had out. So, we were forced to endure a different contest, weather the pressure, adapt, persist and find alternate pathways to victory. Yes, it was predominantly ugly but we still manufactured moments of Milan catwalk worthiness. The game gave Murphy Reid a taste of the close checking treatment he's likely to get more of and, unsurprisingly, he's already made inroads into how to deal with it if his 23 possession second half is any indication. The armchair dingbats taking a dislike to Paddy Voss simply don't understand the Freo system and the selflessly pivotal role he is performing. The sheer volume of cages he is rattling on and off the field points to the possibility he is at the peak of his pervasive and protective powers. Is it no Bont, no dogs? Did Marcus Bontempelli have an off night? Or was it the engaging tactics of the imposing Hayden Young that put the clamp on the champ? The effort and the dedication to the journey Oscar McDonald have undertaken to get to his career best game, is worthy of praise. However, while he superbly played his role, there's no confusion or cause for hesitation, Brennan Cox walks straight back into the team. One man whose role and position are well and truly secure is Karl "Marx" Worner. He had the makeshift dogs forwards on a leash and ended up the highest rated player on the ground. We ran the dogs into the ground, we chalked up our 18th win of the season and we got through unscathed. We then watched Sydney scrape home over the Saints; we saw Hawthorn fall over the line again the Roos and the Josh Fraser revitalised Blues put the 3-peat seeking Lions to the sword! Everything is coming up Millhouse! It's all getting very real! So, we need to come together as a collective, remain calm, be measured and have some composure... is what we'd call for if we were a boring, self-obsessed, joyless, egotistical, purist fan base! But we're not that rabble of a rudderless mob up the road! We get involved, we get loud, we enjoy every moment, celebrate every thrill and we ride this magnificent juggernaut to whatever end!So, for all that type of hype tripe, dig in your heels, lock in your knees, hang on for dear life and join in the conversation to give and get a purple cheerful earful on the pod!Send us Fan MailSupport the show
