A hip injury landed La'el Collins on injured reserve just before Week 1. Now, it appears that injury will wipe out the remainder of his season. The Dallas Cowboys right tackle is set to have surgery on Wednesday to address the hip and is expected to miss the rest of the 2020 campaign, NFL Network's Jane Slater reported Saturday, per an informed source. Slater added that the decision to opt for surgery came after Collins' pain had become intolerable despite him wanting to play through it. The 27-year-old began training camp on the PUP list and was limited to mainly individual drills for most of the practices he participated in. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Talking through a potential Cowboys trade of La’el Collins for Jamal Adams. The Jamal Adams trade rumors are selling like hot cakes and our beloved Dallas Cowboys are right in the thick of things. Speaking of pancakes, guess which delectable menu item the New York Jets are now hungry for? That’s right - La’el Collins. Collins has now emerged as one of the best right tackles in the game. Pro Football Focus had the Cowboys with the second best tackle duo in the league, thanks largely to LC’s strong performance last season. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

INSIDER: Kellen Moore, Doug Nussmeier & Cowboys OC dilemma For the second consecutive season, the Dallas Cowboys are undergoing significant coaching changes. Things are different this time around though, considering one calendar year ago it was the team empowering offensive coordinator Scott Linehan to completely mold the offense into his brainchild. That decision led to the hiring of offensive line coach Paul Alexander after firing longtime the incumbent Frank Pollack, in a swap that put the engineer of the best front five in football out to pasture for a far less successful implant from the Cincinnati Bengals, and with blatant disregard for how the installation of a new scheme would impact already established players like All-Pro left tackle Tyron Smith and right tackle La'El Collins. Seven games into the season, Alexander was fired, and assistant OL coach Marc Colombo was given the job. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Nelson on how strange it feels to be in the Oakland silver and black, not Packer green and gold, on his good fortune to be able to say he's played for two such historic franchises, on his feeling that the Packers never offered him a competitive contract, and on what he thinks he has left as a 33-year-old wide receiver.Collins on the tragic situation that forced him to go undrafted instead of being a first-round pick three years ago, on how good it's been for him to join the Cowboys and play on one of the best offensive lines in football, and what the moral of his zig-zagging NFL story is.Klein, with me, on the saga of Aaron Donald and whether he thinks the best defensive tackle in football will hold out in the season, on hat the Rams can do for an encore, and on the future of this rising offense and star coach Sean McVay.
