This week, Space Mountain is back with some changes, high temps make for pleasant crowd levels, a new security entrance, some trees are back, we finish our chat with Disney Author Jen Calonita, and more! Please support the show if you can by going to https://www.dlweekly.net/support/. Check out all of our current partners and exclusive discounts at https://www.dlweekly.net/promos. News: Space Mountain recently reopened from a refurbishment with some updates. The light tunnel at the beginning of the attraction has been fixed and is working again. The projections of the galaxies has also been updated to a brighter, more high definition projection. – https://youtu.be/iKrbcKApSEg?si=CddIA0jx_UCXT1LE If you could brave the heat this week, Disneyland was very pleasant. The above 100 degree temperatures kept a lot of guests away, which meant low crowds all around the resort. Clear walkways, and low wait times for attractions were good, but some attractions were down most of the day. Grizzly River Run was one of the top attractions at a wait time of only 10 to 40 minutes! – https://www.micechat.com/397277-disneyland-update-haunts-heat-halloween-treats/ Over the scorching temperatures this weekend, the runDisney Half Marathon Weekend took place. The event was sold out, with events ranging from Disneyland Yoga at Sleeping Beauty Castle, to the kids races, to the main events of the 5K, 10K, and half marathon. The Thrills and Chills Challenge was for runners who completed the 10K and the Half Marathon. – https://www.micechat.com/397277-disneyland-update-haunts-heat-halloween-treats/ Guests of the Disneyland Hotel have a new security entrance into Downtown Disney. At the location of the previous security entrance, a new canopy and screening area has been constructed. This area is not as themed as the mid-century modern checkpoint that opened a few months ago by Din Tai Fung, so it could be temporary until Disney decides what to do with this area and Disneyland Forward. – https://www.micechat.com/397277-disneyland-update-haunts-heat-halloween-treats/ In some #saveteresastrees news, some trees have been replanted! At the main entrance where they have been doing a lot of ground work, the trees that had been there were removed. As of this week, the trees are back and providing shade for guests. – https://www.micechat.com/397277-disneyland-update-haunts-heat-halloween-treats/ Some Halloween novelties have appeared around the resort. Returning this year is the Carthay Circle Spooky Tree Flight, which includes the themed tree and three poison apple cups. Coming soon are the Vampire Stitch popcorn bucket, a Halloween Alien sipper with pop out wings, and a popcorn bucket modeled after Scary Teddy from “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” – https://www.micechat.com/397277-disneyland-update-haunts-heat-halloween-treats/ The Tomorrowland Skyline Terrace has an updated offering for their lounge and fireworks viewing. The previous hot packaged meal has been replaced with a cold charcuterie-style sandwich, waldorf salad, cheese and crackers, seasonal fruit, seasonal desserts and chocolate, and continues to offer unlimited soft drinks, bottled water, coffee, hot tea, or hot chocolate, and a specialty themed non-alcoholic beverage. The package is $89 per person. – https://www.micechat.com/397277-disneyland-update-haunts-heat-halloween-treats/ A video on YouTube displays a LEGO recreation of Pirates of the Caribbean, including real water! The creation is a mix between the Disneyland and Walt Disney World versions of the attraction. – LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean Ride with Real Water!
