No. But that's what Derick wants? Yes. But why should that matter? Anyway, by now you could have listened to it.

“it takes a psycho” (April 30, 2023) Barry is not a sitcom, though it was frequently one of the funnier shows on TV. We're doing a bonus summer episode about it anyway because its gay character, NoHo Hank, is a rarity on TV because he's both a villain and a person who doesn't let his sexuality define him. That's not necessarily a good thing, but we're all about complex, messy queer characters, and this is one people should be talking about. Special thanks to Emily Heller for sharing her recollections of working on the show. SPOILER WARNING: We will talk about major plot points from Barry through season three, episode four. “Blood Crieth Unto Heaven” (January 27, 2013) Yes, we're giving you two American Dads this season, with this one representing how this show uses high-concept premises better than most other sitcoms. In this one, the show presents itself as a stage play, complete with all the restrictions and encumbrances that come with denying itself the ability to do quick cuts, and what results is as funny as it is bizarre. Here to discuss why this episode is a stand-out is Johnny LaZebnik, who sings the praises of Wendy Schaal's comedic delivery. Should this technically be a Weirdest Episode Ever? Sure, but here's the thing: When we label episodes in the main feed as this, you all tend to click on them less. Will dropping this on the main feed with a non-Weird title get us more listens? This week we review Lookwell (Pilot)Lookwell was a television pilot written and produced by Conan O'Brien and Robert Smigel, the latter of whom would become a primary creative voice for O'Brien's late night show.It starred Adam West. Despite being a "personal favorite" of NBC chairman Brandon Tartikoff (who had left that position by the time the pilot aired and was replaced by Warren Littlefield), the pilot was not picked up as a series. It was broadcast on NBC on July 28, 1991, in a summer weekend timeslot reserved for burning off pilots which the network had passed on and has since become a cult classic. It stars Adam West as a washed-up TV action hero—who at the peak of his career was ceremonially deputized by local law enforcement and falsely believes he can solve crimes in real life. His student Jason (played by Todd Field) becomes his sidekick.Written by Conan O'Brien & Robert SmigelProduced by Lorne MichaelsDirected by E. W. It's one of the most notorious one-episode wonders in television history: LOOKWELL, a sitcom that aired on NBC in July of 1991, and has gone on to become a cult classic. Created by Conan O'Brien and Robert Smigel, and starring Adam West (BATMAN) and future Oscar nominee Todd Field (IN THE BEDROOM), the sitcom is about a former 1970s cop show star (West) who still thinks he's a detective, and uses his acting skills to solve crimes in his spare time. And he has a LOT of spare time.  But did LOOKWELL deserve to last for only one episode, or was it... CANCELED TOO SOON?
