If you've ever had a discovery call that felt so promising… only to hear “I'm just going to check with my GP first” — you're not imagining it. And you're definitely not alone. In this episode, I'm unpacking why so many potential clients hesitate to invest in private support (especially here in the UK), and what you can do about it. Because the truth is, it's not that people don't want help — it's that your content might not yet be showing them why your support is worth choosing.I'm sharing three simple but powerful shifts you can make in your content so it doesn't just educate or get likes… but actually moves people towards working with you. These are the exact strategies I teach inside my programmes — and they're designed to help you attract more of the right clients, without feeling pushy or salesy. In this episode, I cover: Why potential clients default to free NHS support (and what that means for your marketing)  The key difference between talking about what people need vs what they want How to create content that makes your ideal client feel instantly understood  Why your content needs to highlight the cost of doing nothing (gently, not fearfully)  How to handle common objections like “I'll try it myself first” before they even come up  Simple ways to show the value of your private practice without over-explaining  The mindset shift that makes selling your services feel natural (not uncomfortable) If this episode has got you thinking “my content isn't quite doing that yet…” — don't worry. This is exactly what I help you with inside my course:

The goal? More visibility, more followers, and real data on what actually works right now.But here's the truth… what I expected to happen and what actually happened were two very different things. So in this episode, I'm breaking it all down for you—what worked, what didn't, and what I'd genuinely recommend if you want to grow your audience without burning out or wasting hours on content that goes nowhere.

The launch of Instagram's Edits app presents a compelling new option—particularly for Instagram-first content—while tools like CapCut remain industry standards for versatility and trend responsiveness.Edits is a smart, streamlined solution for creators producing Instagram Reels or Meta content. It removes friction, has no paywall, and eliminates the watermark hurdle. For newer creators or those focusing on speed and simplicity, this tool is a win. It gives us a clean, Instagram-native workflow, with thoughtful touches like audio cleanup and built-in voiceovers that meet our baseline content quality expectations. That said, CapCut still reigns supreme for trend-driven and complex edits. Its expansive template library, keyframe capabilities, and integration with TikTok make it our go-to for creators working across multiple platforms or producing high-tier edits. It's especially useful when we need to scale creative formats quickly or replicate performance-driven structures. My takeaway:Edits is a great entry point for UGC creators focused on Meta platforms. While we'll continue to lean on CapCut for more advanced, cross-platform edits—especially for PGC—Edits is a valuable addition to our tech stack, particularly for quick-turn Reels, Stories, and platform-native drafts. It's not a full replacement yet, but it lowers the barrier for clean, high-quality edits within the Meta ecosystem.Going forward, I'll be recommending that beginner SMMs and interns use Edits for Meta-first content—particularly for Reels and Stories—outside of template-based workflows in CapCut. PGC creators should continue using CapCut for more advanced edits, trend-driven formats, and cross-platform needs.

In this episode of Manufacturing an American Century, I sit down with Josh Cramer. At the time of our recording, Josh was serving as the Director of Education and Workforce Development at America Makes and has now gone on to another important position, now the Associate Vice President - Workforce Development at BlueForge Alliance. In the pod, we talk about the intersection of technology and workforce development in manufacturing. Josh and his team are tackling a big challenge—getting small-to-mid sized manufacturers (SMMs) to adopt technologies like 3D printing, which can transform not only products but entire manufacturing processes, businesses and communities. And we're not just talking about technical training here; America Makes knows that workforce development includes educating both students and incumbent workers, showing people how they can apply new tech in practical ways that deliver value and make products that solve problems.A big theme today of our discussion is the “national strategy with a local impact” model that America Makes follows. Josh explains how real change is happening at the regional level and why initiatives must respect and adapt to local needs. He also shares how 3D printing and additive manufacturing bring incredible entrepreneurial opportunities—not only for big businesses but for everyone, like the “Tech Moms” program that helps mothers in Utah return to the workforce with new skills. If you're curious about what it takes to drive national manufacturing growth at a local level, or how additive technology is making big waves in traditional industries, this episode is packed with insights you won't want to miss. In this episode of Manufacturing an American Century, Matt chats with Ray Zaganto, Partner Relations Manager at IMEC (Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center), to discuss why the future of our manufacturing sector depends on innovation, collaboration, and a national strategy. Ray didn't hold back in sharing his passion for bringing real, lasting change to the industry. We talked about the crucial role of IMEC and how they've been helping small and medium-sized manufacturers not just survive but thrive by adopting new technologies and building stronger businesses. One of Ray's key points is how we've got to engage the next generation early—starting at the grade-school level, not just with high schoolers. He shared how nonprofits like GCAMP in Chicago are making that connection between students, parents, and the exciting world of modern manufacturing. We also dove into some big challenges, like the decline in casting and forging for defense manufacturing, and why we need to rebuild that capability to keep America's defense industrial base strong and resilient.Ray also stressed the importance of a growth mindset in the manufacturing world. Too many companies hesitate to innovate, but as Ray pointed out, sticking your head in the sand is not a strategy. You've got to invest in your future. We wrapped up by talking about the need for a cultural shift—manufacturing has to become a core part of our communities, and companies need to stay engaged with their ecosystem of support to succeed. This episode is packed with insights on how we can all work together to strengthen American manufacturing for the long haul, thanks Ray!AMCC's podcast is made possible in part by the expertise of Mike McAllen, founder of Podcasting4Associations.
