In today's episode of the Atheist Experience, The Cross Examiner and Godless Engineer work through questions from theists and those who are questioning their beliefs. Vickie in NC feels that what the hosts on the show are saying make sense and she is starting to question her beliefs. You are not alone and are correct in not accepting a claim until you are convinced with the proper amount of evidence. If you want to hold on to the idea of god having a good nature, how do you rationalize the Old Testament atrocities? How horrible would god's actions have to be before you question the morality of this all knowing god? Why does the New Testament tell slaves to obey their masters and how do you reconcile this with a good god? Try pondering how it would be to be a slave under Old Testament laws. If you look at life without the lens of god, you will realize how full your life is!Shabazz in KY wants to know what led them to atheism and what they find unbelievable about a creator. On the quantum level, particles will appear and vanish out of existence with no cause. What is your best evidence for a creator and what convinced you the universe was created? What gives you the indication that god is directly involved with the laws of nature such as when it rains? Why do you consider a natural inclination the best reason to believe in your god, and why do you believe what is written in the Quran? The moon is still intact. RJ in CO has some corrections on some Biblical references Godless Engineer(GE) made. GE explained Numbers 31 and what the story about the age of the girls (women children) would have meant at the time. What is the morality of keeping young girls for servants and why is there such a heavy emphasis on virginity? When you call into a show where there is a time limit, be ready to make your case. Jeff in NC, says the message of slavery in the Bible is misunderstood, the supernatural claims of the Bible being allegories, and talks about how Moses was influenced by the laws of Egypt. If the Bible is full of allegories, why should we listen to the writings of Paul? How do the stories of Paul equate to evidence for god?Alex in Britain wants to talk about Biblical accuracy, interpretations, and trustworthiness. Ben Clodfelter joins to offer some perspectives where fallacies can be spotted and used as red flags. The Cross Examiner sees that people are raised to believe in the premise, and then when they start reading scripture, it is done through Bible class. This prevents the problematic and controversial verses from being read. If this is supposed to be the most important message ever, wouldn't the book have been clearer about which passages are metaphors and which are literally true?Thank you for tuning in this week! There are plenty of volunteer opportunities if you want to get involved. We will see everyone next week!Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-atheist-experience--3254896/support.
On this episode of The People's Podcast, we're joined by Jameel E. Shabazz — entrepreneur, small business owner, and a strong advocate for self-sufficiency and ownership. Our conversation dives deep into the realities and challenges of fatherless homes, the impact of social conditioning, and the role economics play in shaping our communities. Jameel shares his personal perspective and offers insight on how we can empower ourselves and each other through accountability, knowledge, and economic independence. Fatherless homes have significant social and economic implications. Children raised without fathers are more susceptible to mental health issues, behavioral disorders, and academic challenges. Economically, these households often face higher poverty rates. Key Statistics: •Mental Health and Behavioral Issues: •Children from fatherless homes are five times more likely to commit suicide. •They are 20 times more likely to have behavioral disorders. •They are 14 times more likely to commit rape. •They are nine times more likely to drop out of high school. •They are 20 times more likely to end up in prison. •Educational Challenges: •Fatherless children are twice as likely to drop out of school. •Children with involved fathers are 40% less likely to repeat a grade and 70% less likely to drop out. •They are more likely to achieve academic success and engage in extracurricular activities. •Economic Impact: •Children in father-absent homes are almost four times more likely to be poor. Short Story: “The Unseen Struggle” In the heart of a bustling city, Malik, a bright-eyed 12-year-old, navigated life without his father. His mother, working two jobs, provided for their modest apartment but couldn't always be there for him. Malik often felt a void, a longing for guidance he couldn't name. At school, Malik's grades began to slip. He found it hard to concentrate, his mind wandering to questions about his father he dared not ask. His teachers noticed his withdrawn demeanor and declining performance. One afternoon, Malik's school counselor, Ms. Thompson, invited him to her office. She spoke gently, asking about his interests and dreams. Through their conversations, Malik discovered a passion for art, a talent he had never explored. Ms. Thompson encouraged him to join the school's art club, providing him with materials and support. As Malik immersed himself in art, he found an outlet for his emotions. His grades improved, and he began to smile more. While the absence of his father remained a silent ache, Malik learned that with support and self-discovery, he could navigate the challenges life presented. This story underscores the resilience of children facing adversity and the profound impact of mentorship and community support in their lives.

Intro: Fannie Lou Hamer's Credentials Committee Testimony (1964) for the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party which she co-founded. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRCUUzpfV7k Alt episode titles: Vote and/or Die The Revolution Will Not Be TikTok'd at the DNC Voting in this country was created as a means of giving those least empowered the veneer of control over a democratic system that was designed to be autocratic really and only with the interests of a small few white people in mind. And by those—I mean those constitutionally considered human. The constitution and declaration of independence could have been written w the blood of Black indigenous and Indigenous/First Nations so much of it was spilled to birth the current system whose efficacy and legitimacy we all find ourselves in constant debate about online and elsewhere. So yes ima think voting is the only means to achieve change or the most powerful change in a system that tells us routinely how to go about change and how not to go about change so that nothing will ever change, because if I stopped believing that, I'd have to actually do something more than what I'm told, I'd have to imagine, I'd have to create, I'd have to divest from whiteness, I might not make a million dollars, I might make a million enemies, I might have to go out after I vote and hit the streets and never leave, I might have to care about people the system has deemed undesirable and disposal I mean that's a tall order for the average person in a white supremacist capitalist society that works me til I'm broken and breaks me til I'm dead I'll take the fucking sticker instead!! Is that how the song goes? This week we have my friend and entrepreneur Shabazz the OG on the couch. We go waaaay back, when I was pursuing my music career. He's been a great friend and a supporter of mine since day one. He's lived many lives and he wrote a book Flip Ya Life, sharing his life and many lessons that he learned along the way. Shabazz is a great example of "never judge a book by it's cover".
