A warning to beware illegal vapes after some laced with an anaesthetic drug have caused hospitalisations. Etomidate has been detected in illicit vapes sold under names like space oil, K pods and space vapes. The drug can cause a raft of symptoms including breathing difficulties, low blood pressure and loss of consicousness. Director of the New Zealand Drug Foundation Sarah Helm spoke to Lisa Owen.

That's about one track in every 1.8mins. What I love about this mix is that it treats each track as components to DJ/mix with. It was so much fun. I was dancing and singing my heart out. This took about three attempts with the same batch of tracks. Probably another 100 on top of what's recorded here, but this attempt was completely different than the two previous test mixes.The mixing and layering is fantastic. I probably can't reproduce this feel. Glad it's recorded.It glides through different types of house music that MOVEs me. I really hope that you enjoy this mix.I really LOVE the transitions, although I was too impatient with about 4-5 and didn't mix out the preceding tracks as well as I'd like to. It is what it is.It's the imperfections that make the groove PERFECT. Everything in its place right??I also took a few tracks and played them multiple times and because they were sandwiched between different combinations on the way in and out, it was a completely different feel each time. Never did this before. It's an interesting technique. Building an overall groove throughout the two hour mix and mini grooves with 2 to 4 track combinations.Ahh... geeking out. Intrigued by the premise presented by the recent Sony box sets like "Sunset Boulevard" describing Elvis's undubbed recordings as "pure," Justin decided to investigate the story behind the man who has borne most of the heavy criticism aimed at the production on Elvis's music, Felton Jarvis, who was Elvis's main producer from 1966-1977. While we've previously touched on Felton's work as a producer in our "Elvis and His Producers/Elvis as a Producer" episode, realizing we may not have given him a fair shake, on this episode Justin and Bec investigate Felton's early work at National Recording Corporation (NRC) in Atlanta, Georgia, his time at ABC-Paramount working with Tommy Roe, Fats Domino, Lloyd Price, the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section and.... "Vince Everett"? They trace Felton's move to RCA Victor producing many successful acts and hit records in the field of country music in the mid-1960s and, naturally, his first sessions with Elvis across 1966-1968, chief among which was the How Great Thou Art project, which won Elvis his first-ever Grammy Award. Counterfeit pharmaceutical pills laced with drugs like fentanyl are a new global crisis according to a recent article in the journal Lancet. The fake prescription pills are often the same color and size as the original, making them virtually indistinguishable. In 2023 the DEA found that 70% of counterfeit pharmaceutical pills contained a potentially deadly dose of fentanyl. And while drug overdoses among young people were down last year compared to 2023, the number of young people dying of opioid overdoses is still double what it was before the pandemic. A Missouri woman has been arrested after allegedly giving her 14-year-old daughter a pill containing fentanyl, leading to the teenager's fatal overdose. Jacquelyn R. Powers, 35, was taken into custody last week and now faces charges of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, resulting in death, according to court records. Court documents identify the victim as "VT," though several media outlets have reported that Powers is the mother of the deceased girl. Authorities have not officially confirmed the nature of their relationship. According to the criminal complaint filed in St. Louis County Circuit Court, prosecutors allege that last month, Powers "knowingly acted in a manner that created a substantial risk to the life" of the teenager by providing her with a pill believed to contain fentanyl. The Overland Police Department's probable cause affidavit sheds light on the events leading to the child's death. On October 3, 2024, the 14-year-old complained to Powers about a toothache. Powers allegedly gave her a pill from her drawer, which she told investigators she believed was oxycodone from a past surgery. Roughly 10 hours after taking the pill, the teen was found dead. A subsequent autopsy confirmed fentanyl as the cause of death, with no trace of oxycodone in her system. Powers reportedly admitted to police that she had previously traded her prescribed oxycodone for pills her mother had purchased on the street. She claimed she had kept these pills in a drawer as a means of "protecting" her mother from potentially dangerous street drugs. When authorities executed a search warrant at Powers' residence on the 9500 block of Echo Lane in St. Louis, they reportedly found additional street drugs and other minors in the home. “This is tragic,” Overland Police Department Captain Jim Morgan told local Fox affiliate KTVI. “This shouldn't happen. She's 14 and had a lot of years to look forward to.” Powers is being held in the St. Louis County Jail on a $150,000 cash-only bond.
