A year ago, I began The Still Point Minute after the idea came to me during meditation: create one minute of stillness every day for an entire year. At the time, it sounded simple. One minute—how difficult could that be? As it turns out, one minute repeated every day for a year is quite a commitment. There were times when I became ill and lost my voice. There were days when motivation disappeared, the work felt overwhelming, and I honestly wondered, What the heck was I thinking? But somewhere along the way, the project became about more than recording meditations. It became about keeping a promise I had made to myself. We often work very hard to keep our promises to other people, yet we can be surprisingly quick to break the promises we make privately within ourselves. Completing The Still Point Minute taught me that honoring those private commitments is one of the ways we build trust in ourselves. In this episode, I reflect on the imperfect, sometimes humorous, and deeply meaningful journey of completing the series. I also invite you into a closing meditation to recognize something you have completed—or something within you that is still asking you not to give up. Because sometimes the accomplishment is not that everything went according to plan. Sometimes the accomplishment is simply being able to say: I kept my word to myself. Many Blessings.

Hey There New Paradigmers!Like a car with no brakes rolling down the hill,My life can get out of control.At times like this I must keep the faith,Let go and rock and roll.☉As the Moon continues to wax toward full next Wednesday (isn't she beautiful?) the energy will continue to build. With the Sun entering Leo to join Jupiter all we can say is "Wow! Really?" right? Whether there is too much going on IN your life, too much going OUT of your life, or BOTH, it's a wild ride as I discuss in this week's report. It can definitely be overwhelming if we try to control, maintain an outdated past, or not get involved or be affected by the tumultuous world in which we live. One of the big differences between these days and the "days of old" is that it is the trans neptunian planets (Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto) involved with big ol' Jupiter, the Sun, and soon, the full Moon. Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, as well as the Moon's nodes all symbolize unconscious soul forces beyond ego control and appear in life as accidents, destiny, or fate. These powerful events, often involving powerful people and big changes in our lifestyle, signal a change of course in the direction of our lives that we simply can't stop. It's futile, hopeless, and therefore can be quite frustrating and painful.However, as with many of our big life changes, looking back we see the resulting growth, as painful, crazy, or wild as it was, as a necessary part of our journey on the road to awakening. This is that time. With the north node of the Moon at the last degree of Aquarius (The Brotherhood of Light) until October 9th, the doorway is open to our higher Self, our inner observer, that sees beyond our limited ego consciousness and needs and is the gateway to our soul. Let's not get hung up on the outer trappings/goings on in our world, but dance together through that inner gate together. I do think this goes hand in hand with what I was saying however, and underscores it. The Moon transiting through Libra and Scorpio as she gets bigger and bigger toward full, turns our feelings, hearts, and minds to our relationships, both personal and otherwise. Aries wants to be sovereign unto him/herself (autonomous, self determined, and free) while Libra and Scorpio both want partnership, teamwork, and to "go there together." Now, the Sun in Taurus points to a time of identifying very clearly for ourselves what we value, find pleasurable and beautiful, and what we prioritize. The Moon coming through Scorpio is going to highlight the possible merging of us with a lover, a financial business partner, others with whom we are deeply engaged physically, emotionally, mentally, and/or spiritually, society, and even spirit beings on the other side. All of these "others" will pull us one way or another, want something from us, want to align with us, go deeper with us, or possibly even reject us. Therefore, with this energy you can see the possibility of breakups and breakdowns as people's values and priorities simply don't align. The message with the Mars/Jupiter, Mercury/Chiron, Sun and others is telling us to dig down into our souls, not be distracted or swayed or pulled by any outside forces, and sit with ourselves until we are clear about who we are, what we want, and where we're going. As usual, the opposite can be true. You may do just that and quit a job or break up with a partner you're not truly aligned with, OR, you may find that you ARE aligned and you're motivated to do whatever work is required (shadow work that is) to deepen that union. While so much has been shifting and cracking open in our exterior world, the real work has been happening on the inside.
