Feeling stuck can be deeply uncomfortable—and most of us assume it means something has gone wrong. That we're failing, falling behind, or doing life incorrectly. But what if feeling stuck isn't a problem to fix… but a signal worth listening to? In this episode, I explore why feeling emotionally stuck, foggy, or unmotivated is often a sign of intelligence—not failure. You'll learn how "stuckness" can be protective, how it often shows up during important transitions, and why pushing your way out of it can actually keep you stuck longer. If you've been judging yourself for not being further along, or trying to force clarity that won't come, this conversation offers a gentler, wiser way to understand what's happening—and how to work with it instead of against it.

Research says no — and I begin this episode by explaining why going with your gut on exams might actually hurt your score. Source: Joseph T. We take seeds for granted — but how plants grow from them is one of nature's most astonishing processes. Jennifer Jewell, gardening educator, advocate, and host of the Cultivating Place podcast (https://www.cultivatingplace.com/blog-1), reveals the hidden wonders of seeds, including fascinating insights like how seedless watermelons are grown without seeds at all. What if kegels aren't working for you? In this episode, I speak with my podcast producer, Tony, all about the pelvic floor. I discuss the anatomy around the pelvic floor, common problems you might not realize are related to poor pelvic floor function, an old injury I had that caused asymmetries and tonal issues with my pelvic floor, why I think most pelvic floor rehabilitation like kegels aren't that successful, and why focusing on the reflexive control of the pelvic floor may be the more fruitful path. I discuss drills and exercises that can improve pelvic floor function that go beyond just voluntary contraction work, such as spinal mobility work, breathing drills and techniques, bilateral complex movements, vibration, vestibular drills, tongue drills, stacking, and more. This is a fantastic topic for applied neurology due to the reflexive nature of pelvic floor control and the often indirect paths you need to take to affect its function for the better. Welcome back to Ozempic Weightloss Unlocked, the source for the latest news and research about Ozempic and its impact on weight loss, health, and modern living. Today, we are diving into what is happening right now in the world of Ozempic, from how it works to the lifestyle changes it brings and the newest headlines surrounding this medication.Ozempic was originally developed as a treatment for type two diabetes but quickly gained widespread attention when studies showed it could help people lose an average of ten to fifteen percent of their body weight over six to twelve months. According to clinical trials and real-world testimonies, people using Ozempic are experiencing steady, sustainable weight loss, often seeing a reduction of one to three pounds per week when the medication is combined with healthy eating and regular activity. The science behind Ozempic involves its active ingredient, semaglutide, which mimics a gut hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1. This hormone helps regulate blood sugar, slow digestion, reduce appetite, and make you feel fuller after meals. The result: people naturally eat less without feeling deprived. According to Harvard School of Public Health, the success of Ozempic is not just about the medicine itself but also depends on diet and exercise. Experts emphasize that to make the most of the benefits, Ozempic users should focus on balanced eating, enough protein, regular movement, and strength training, which help preserve muscle mass and maintain long-term results. For those wondering about side effects, gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea or constipation are the most common, especially in the first few weeks. These often improve over time but are a reminder that proper nutrition and hydration are essential. Some people also report loss of muscle if protein intake and exercise are neglected, so working closely with your healthcare provider to monitor your health and adapt your plan is key.Ozempic is often compared to Wegovy. Both contain the same active ingredient, semaglutide, but while Ozempic is typically prescribed for diabetes and used off-label for weight loss, Wegovy is FDA-approved specifically for obesity and weight management. There is a broader landscape too, with medications like Zepbound, also known as tirzepatide, delivering even larger average weight loss in some studies—up to twenty percent or more of total body weight. As new options arrive, the market for weight loss solutions is changing rapidly, giving patients and doctors more choices than ever.Perhaps most interestingly, the benefits of Ozempic reach beyond just weight or diabetes. Cutting-edge research reported by Henry Ford Health suggests that medications like Ozempic may help curb addictive behaviors, including cravings for alcohol or other substances. While the research is in early stages, the idea that a medication for diabetes and obesity could help treat addiction is an unexpected but promising development we'll be following closely.A frequent question is what happens after stopping Ozempic. Research published in the journal Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism shows that people often regain up to two-thirds of the weight they lost when the medication is discontinued, and benefits to blood sugar, cholesterol, and inflammation also tend to fade. This rebound effect is why ongoing lifestyle habits—like healthy eating and consistent movement—remain crucial for lasting results. Finally, inspiring personal stories continue to emerge. From people losing fifty pounds in just six months, to testimonies of reduced cravings, better energy, improved sleep, and renewed confidence, the lifestyle changes go far beyond the scale. As always, Ozempic is not magic. Its power comes when combined with strong support, healthy habits, and medical supervision. But as 2025 unfolds, Ozempic and other GLP-1 medications are opening doors for millions of people seeking safer, more effective ways to achieve lasting health.Thank you for tuning in to Ozempic Weightloss Unlocked. Have you ever wondered if intermittent fasting is more than just another diet trend?I was recently invited to be a guest on Eric Sardina's show Return To Authenticity, where I shared the truth about intermittent fasting—not as a restrictive diet, but as a powerful health protocol. We talked about how giving your body a break from constant digestion allows it to heal, regenerate, and tap into stored energy. I explained how strategic fasting windows can boost energy, support hormone balance, strengthen the immune system, and even improve gut health and mental clarity. This conversation is about moving past the old conditioning of “eat all the time” and reconnecting with your body's natural rhythms.

You love this person … but right now, you kind of can't stand them. Today, we're talking about friendship pauses. Let me be clear: this isn't ghosting, breaking up, the silent treatment, or a passive-aggressive power move. A friendship pause is an intentional choice to create space to reflect, make changes, and do some individual growth. Here's the caveat: the eventual goal is to actually do the work to REPAIR the friendship.Michael and I use this phrase in our marriage that I think applies to friendships, too. Every time you work through a lower low, you reach a higher high. Instead of thinking of a friendship pause as sad, think of it as a possibility for this whole new version of a friendship that you're going to feel more aligned with.In this episode you'll hear about:Reasons a friendship pause might be necessary, including communication issues, energy or emotional issues, and changes in life circumstancesQuestions to ask yourself before you take a friendship pause, like, what's the reason for the pause? Are you willing to do the work to repair this friendship? Why working through a low point in a friendship can lead to stronger beliefs and a more resilient connectionResources & LinksLike what you hear? I'll be sharing my own experience with NAD+ and some of the surprising ways it's supported things like cravings, mood, and even skin health. Most people hear about NAD+ in the context of longevity or anti-aging, but there's so much more to it. I'm highlighting three areas that really stood out to me: how it can help reduce addictive behaviors and cravings, how it supports glowing, youthful skin from the inside out, and how it's made a difference in my emotional resilience and overall mood. I'll also break down the science behind it in a way that's easy to understand—so if you've been curious about what NAD+ actually does at the cellular level, this one's for you. Let's get into it.Takeaways: In this episode, we delve into the multifaceted benefits of NAD, particularly its role in energy metabolism and DNA repair. I experienced unexpected improvements in mood stability and stress resilience following my NAD regimen, illustrating its neuroprotective properties. Research indicates that NAD may significantly aid in reducing cravings, thus showing potential for addiction recovery support. I found that NAD injections not only rejuvenated my energy levels but also visibly enhanced my skin's texture and elasticity. The episode discusses how NAD supports neurotransmitter balance, particularly dopamine and serotonin, which are vital for mood regulation. There is growing evidence suggesting NAD can improve sleep quality and regulate circadian rhythms, contributing to overall well-being. Companies mentioned in this episode: Peptique

On this episode of The Jon Gordon Podcast, I sit down with Rafi Kohan, author, cultural observer, and the mind behind Trash Talk: The Only Book About Destroying Your Rivals That Isn't Total Garbage. What started as a casual Zoom between new friends quickly turned into a lively deep dive into the world of competitive banter, all captured here in real time. Together, Rafi and I explore the fascinating, untold science and history of trash talk. He breaks down why trash talk is more than just gamesmanship on the field, it's a fundamental part of human behavior, threaded through ancient stories from the Bible to the Homeric poems, and alive in everything from politics to playgrounds. We get into how trash talk manipulates attention, anxiety, motivation, and even performance, and why some of the world's greatest athletes and public figures use it to their advantage. Rafi shares wild stories, including some next-level antics from a soccer goalie who turned mental distraction into an art form, reveals why even the most positive folks can't resist a little friendly ribbing (looking at you, Ken Blanchard), and reflects on how the lessons of trash talking stretch far beyond sports, touching on politics, performance, resilience, and even moral character. We also riff on modern-day masters of the craft (think Muhammad Ali to Donald Trump) and the fine line between competition that lifts us up versus rivalry that tears us down. If you've ever wondered why we talk smack, how to handle it when it happens, or what it really says about us, you'll find insight and plenty of laughs in this episode. Whether you're a serious competitor, a sports fan, or someone who's just curious about why people do what they do, this conversation brings fresh perspective, energy, and practical takeaways on embracing pressure, building grit, and becoming the kind of rival that makes everyone better. And yes, there's a little trash talk between us too. If you want to rethink the way you handle challenges, on the court, at work, or in life, this episode is for you. Rafi Kohan is an award-winning sports journalist and dynamic keynote speaker. He is the author, most recently, of Trash Talk: The Only Book About Destroying Your Rivals That Isn't Total Garbage, which explores the phenomenon of verbal gamesmanship in sports, and everywhere, and what it reveals about our ability to perform under pressure. About Rafi, Kohan's first book, The Arena, is a wide-ranging examination of the modern American sports stadium and was a finalist for the 2018 PEN/ESPN Award for Literary Sports Writing. Previously, Kohan has served as deputy editor at the New York Observer and as executive editorial director for the Atlantic's creative marketing studio. His writing has appeared in numerous publications, including GQ, the New York Times, Men's Journal, Rolling Stone, and the Wall Street Journal, among many others, and his thought leadership on the surprising benefits of trash talk has been featured on Fast Company, Scientific American, NPR's Science Friday, BBC's Unexpected Elements, and Re:Thinking with Adam Grant.
