Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com In this podcast episode, we talk about the new 2025 Indian Scout lineup. It has been revamped for 2025. For some background information, the Indian Scout is a motorcycle built by the Indian Motorcycle Company from 1920 to 1949. It rivaled the Chief as Indian's most important model. The 101 Scout, made from 1928 to 1931, has been called the best motorcycle Indian ever made. A second line of Scouts, with heavier frames, was introduced in 1932 alongside the Standard Scout, which replaced the 101 Scout and shared its frame with the Chief and the Four. The small-displacement Scout and the Sport Scout, introduced in 1934, were continued until the end of civilian production in 1942. We and other Allied forces used military versions of both models during World War II. SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE The 2025 Indian Scout is built around an all-new 1250cc SpeedPlus engine, which gets its name from the PowerPlus engine and what's shared between the two units. The new engine produces a claimed 105 horsepower and 82 lb-ft of torque, except on 101 models, where an extra six horsepower is available through different tuning. The torque curve is long and flat, starting around 3000 rpm and continuing past peak horsepower at 7250, tapering off as it reaches the rev limiter at 8500 rpm. Over previous models, average fuel mileage is improved for an additional claimed 20 miles per tank, largely thanks to a one-tooth larger drive sprocket. The new SpeedPlus 1250 builds on Scout's unmatched reputation of delivering the perfect balance of power and control. The all-new engine features an 11% increase in power and 14% increase in torque while maintaining its easy-to-ride character. With 105 HP on the Scout Classic, Scout Bobber, Sport Scout, and Super models, and 111 HP and 82 ft-lbs of torque on the 101 Scout. The flat torque curve coupled with new available ride modes delivers smooth predictable acceleration in all conditions and maximizes the fun for riders of all levels. Send us a Text Message. In February 2010, the McStay family—Joseph, Summer, and their two young children, Gianni and Joseph Jr.—vanished without a trace from their home in Fallbrook, California. Their disappearance quickly became one of the most perplexing and chilling mysteries of the decade. The McStays seemed to lead a normal life, running a small business and living in a modest home. But on February 4th, the family's sudden and unexplained disappearance set off alarm bells. The last known sighting of them was captured on a security camera of their car leaving their driveway. Months passed, and the case grew colder. Speculation ranged from theories of a financial dispute gone awry to potential connections with criminal networks. The McStay family's sudden and eerie silence left investigators grasping for answers. Then, in November 2013, the case took a harrowing twist. In February 2010, the 4 members of the McStay family - Joseph, Summer, Gianni, and Joseph Jr. - disappeared from their home in Fallbrook, CA. For the next several years, many believed they were voluntarily missing, but their family was sure they had met with foul play. When their bodies were found in November 2013, investigators revisited some suspects they initially talked to, but the man they ended up charging with the murders maintains his innocence to this day. I think it's fair to claim that this week's Happy Half Hour guest is the most special visitor we've ever had on the podcast (which is saying something): Jason Mraz, the two-time Grammy Award–winning singer and songwriter who has gone platinum and multi-platinum in more than 20 countries. His tune “I'm Yours” also surpassed one billion streams on Spotify and was the most-streamed song by a solo artist in the naughts. His eighth album, Mystical Magical Rhythmical Radical Ride, dropped last June. In other words, he's kind of a big deal. Mraz lives in North County's greater Fallbrook area, where he runs Mraz Family Farms, providing companies like Chipotle with a steady stream of San Diego County–grown avocados (and providing this podcast with great talking points). In addition to chatting about his coffee farm and avocado-growing prowess, Mraz shines a light on his upcoming Kaleidoscope community concert, which will take place at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido, on Saturday, February 17 at 7 p.m and on Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets will be available via JasonMraz.com this Friday, December 15th at 10 a.m. PT. Mraz will hit the stage alongside performers from eight local arts organizations: A Step Beyond Dancers, Banding Together, Diversionary Theatre, Monarch School Project, San Diego Young Artist Music Academy, Tap Fever Studios, Tierra Caliente Academy of Arts, and Wheelchair Dancers. They're all beneficiaries of grants from The Jason Mraz Foundation, which is dedicated to improving access to the arts for kids. It's a cause close to Mraz's heart for obvious reasons, considering his long, successful career in the arts. We recap it all—the open mic performance that launched his career (which Troy almost missed in favor of a punk show), the Dave Matthews endorsement that helped catapult him to fame, and, of course, his fan-favorite turn on Dancing with the Stars. “Over the past few months, I pushed myself creatively, and physically more than I have in decades,” Mraz says of his time on the show. “I revisited what it was like to be a beginner in the performing arts, to immerse myself in something completely new, finding strength, joy, self-acceptance, and pride as I learned and grew every week.” And Mraz isn't the only one experiencing growth. We offer reports from the front of San Diego's ever-expanding restaurant scene: First of all, a hell of a lot of fried chicken is coming to town. South Korean Fried Fave BHC Chicken will open in Sorrento Valley and Dave's Hot Chicken will open its sixth location in Mission Valley. Plus, tapas and small grower wine spot Finca launched in North Park with a crew formerly from Juniper & Ivy, and Priscilla Curiel will open Mujer Divina on Chula Vista's Third Avenue. See you next week! More information on the Jason Mraz Foundation: https://jasonmraz.com/foundation/ https://www.instagram.com/jasonmrazfoundation/ https://www.facebook.com/JasonMrazFoundation/

On February 4, 2010 a family of four from Fallbrook, CA just up and vanished in a mystery that had their family and law enforcement stumped for over three years. I'd tell her I would get better, get a job, and I would find the kids so she could be a grandma again. Then she asked me, "What are you going to do?" I said, "I don't know." In that moment she believed me and for the first time, I saw in her face a look that there is hope." -Max Nijst Connect with Max: Fearless Happyness Podcast Website Book: Fearless Happyness How To Get Involved: Addicted to Winning connects listeners through stories that prove why mindset matters. McStay's Taken Too Soon contains facts and evidence along with family information not seen on the TV programs or in newspaper and magazine articles. A whole family vanished on February 4, 2010 from their home in Fallbrook, CA. The San Diego Sheriff's Department led the public to believe that Joseph, Summer and their two little children had left of their own accord and moved to Mexico. Then the harrowing discovery of four bodies in the California desert nearly four years later shattered that illusion. There was close to $100,000.00 in Joseph and Summer's bank accounts, a house just bought and tens of thousands spent on remodeling. A growing and thriving home-based waterfall design business had email orders pouring in that indicate millions of dollars in the pipeline. All calls and emails went unanswered. No one who knew them thought they would choose to leave without telling anyone. Everyone said Joseph would never leave his first born son from a previous marriage behind. Joseph would not just "VOLUNTARILY" walk away from all of this like the San Diego Sheriff's Office claimed. This is the only true accounting of the McStay story written to date. Joseph's father sets the record straight about Joseph and his family.
