S'enfonçant à 1 444 mètres sous terre, elle offrirait la configuration idéale pour un projet de batterie gravitaire, qui sera déployée par une entreprise spécialisée dans le stockage d'énergie : Gravitricity. Comme son nom l'indique, cette batterie stocke l'énergie par gravité.Ainsi, Gravitricity installera cette batterie dans un puits de la mine à une profondeur de 530 mètres. Théoriquement, la batterie peut atteindre une capacité de stockage de 2 MWh, ce qui équivaut à l'énergie nécessaire pour recharger une voiture comme une Tesla Model 3 jusqu'à 40 fois. Hvordan påvirker det både barn og voksne som er pårørende?Sammen med Martin (Slagpappa) og Anita fra Pårørendealliansen utforsker vi pårørende rollen gjennom Martin sin historie og erfaringene til Anita og Jimmy. De ser på hvordan pårørende rollen kan påvirke oss praktisk, sosialt, fysisk og psykisk, men også hvordan det endrende samfunnet har påvirket pårørendekapasiteten vår.Martin deler hvordan han fikk hjerneslag som 41 åring etter å ha mistet faren, tett fulgt av en turbulent og usikker jobbsituasjon i flere år. Han hadde nettopp blitt pappa i godt voksen alder, noe som hadde vært et sterkt ønske i mange år for han, og plutselig var både hans kone og deres sønn pårørende til en «slagpappa».Anita og Martin snakker videre om den manglende støtten for pårørende i systemet og hvordan investeringer i å støtte pårørende er et viktig forebyggende tiltak. Hør videre hvordan Martin og familien kom seg igjennom de tøffe årene, og hvordan deres håndtering av pårørende rollen ble viktig for å få Martin tilbake i jobb. What’s it all about? At Hyperion we love all things energy storage, and we’re always following new companies and technologies that can and will enable the energy transition. I recently met the team from Gravitricity at a trade show I was speaking at, and liked the look of their solution, anything that uses old and established technologies for new and innovative solutions is good as far as we’re concerned, so we asked their MD Charlie Blair to share more. About our guest Charlie joined Gravitricity as a founder shareholder in 2015, having worked with co-founders Peter Fraenkel and Martin Wright while in the Innovation Team at the Carbon Trust. The team has grown since then and he’s been instrumental in developing the strategic relationships with manufacturing partners that will allow the technology to get to market fast. Gravitricity is currently building at 250Kw, 50 tonne, Concept Demonstrator in Leith, Edinburgh. Charlie has a Geography degree from Durham University and an Energy Systems MSc from Imperial College. He was elected a Fellow of the Energy Institute in 2019. Gravitricity is an energy technology company based in Edinburgh developing groundbreaking underground storage. Grid-scale electricity storage spend is projected to grow from around $3 billion per year today to over $50 billion per year by 2040. Gravitricity’s patented technology is based on a simple principle: raising and lowering a heavy weight to store and release energy. The Gravitricity system suspends weights of 500 - 5000 tonnes in a deep shaft by a number of cables, each of which is engaged with a winch capable of lifting its share of the weight. It's a special Talking Vision this week as we celebrate International White Cane Day, 15 October and take a walk down to the shops with white cane user, Martin Wright. Throughout the walk, Martin explains how the different ways he can employ his cane to navigate the world around him without sight and the independence using a white cane gives him.
