What does it mean to love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength? In this message, Chelsea Arrington opens our new series by exploring the essential link between emotional and spiritual health. Using Matthew 22:36–40 and Deuteronomy 6:5 as her foundation, Chelsea explains why emotional maturity is not optional for disciples of Jesus—it's central. She unpacks the five core areas of health (physical, spiritual, mental, social, emotional) and reminds us that unacknowledged emotions can derail our growth. You'll hear real-life examples, powerful metaphors (including Pixar's Inside Out), and biblical truth to help you understand: ✅ Why emotions are a gift from God ✅ What happens when we suppress feelings ✅ How emotional health shapes our ability to love others ✅ Why Jesus was the most emotionally aware person who ever lived Jesus wept. He celebrated. He grieved. He rejoiced. And to become more like Him, we must become emotionally honest. In his message at Cherry Hills Community Church, Pastor Gary Thomas emphasized that every marriage needs a God-given mission to truly thrive. Using Matthew 6:33, "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well," he challenged couples to prioritize God's purpose over personal happiness. Pastor Gary explained that when spouses unite around serving God's kingdom, their relationship grows stronger and more meaningful. He encouraged husbands and wives to ask, "How can our marriage advance God's work in the world?" Ultimately, he reminded everyone that a mission-driven marriage reflects Christ's love and brings lasting fulfillment beyond what self-focused living can offer.

In this thought-provoking episode of "Father and Joe," hosts Father Boniface and Joe Rockey delve into the power of reading the Bible in sequence, particularly examining the profound teachings of Jesus through the lens of the Sermon on the Mount. Joe discusses his experience of reading the Bible in order, highlighting how the text often folds back on itself, reinforcing themes that resonate deeply with readers by connecting seemingly disparate teachings into a cohesive narrative.Using Matthew as an example, Joe describes how the Sermon on the Mount extends beyond the Beatitudes, presenting a comprehensive discourse that invites reflection on human nature, societal norms, and intrinsic motivations. By reading these scriptures in their entirety, Joe finds fresh relevance in old teachings and learns the art of delivering powerful messages, drawing parallels to his own experiences on stage as a speaker.Father Boniface offers insights into Jesus' historical and cultural context, emphasizing the importance of understanding scripture both as divinely inspired text and powerful rhetoric. He supports Joe's interpretative journey, validating the approach of reading with faith rather than skepticism, and applying lessons from scripture to everyday life as well as professional relationships.Together, they reflect on the potential personal growth in embracing scripture with openness, noting the inspiration derived from Christ's strategic communication and progressive ministry. Highlighting stories such as the raising of Lazarus, they discuss how contextual understanding of these narratives can bring new illumination.Throughout the conversation, they unpack the importance of viewing Biblical events within their broader scriptural setting, drawing connections between personal experiences and spiritual teachings. This balance allows listeners to rediscover the richness of biblical messages and encourages them to build a profound relationship with spirituality.Join Father Boniface and Joe Rockey in this enlightening episode to explore how contextual reading of the Bible isn't just about understanding divine instructions but is also a journey towards personal transformation and reclaiming faith in a world desperate for spiritual connection.Sermon on the Mount, Bible Study, Biblical Context, Faith Journey, Spiritual Growth, Jesus Teachings, Divine Inspiration, Scripture Analysis, Contextual Reading, Personal Revelation, Sermon Insights, Gospel Sermons, Spiritual Reflection, Faith Discussion, Christian Teachings, Theology Study, Deeper Understanding, Relationship with God, Spiritual Direction, Biblical Narratives, Historical Jesus, Faith Exploration, Scripture Wisdom, Spiritual Lessons, Jesus' Ministry, Catholic Perspective, Sermon Breakdown, Gospel Readings, Divine Faith, Sermon Interpretation, Spiritual Guidance, Personal Transformation, Bible in Context, Divine Message, Sermons of Jesus, Faith Application, Gospel Context, Scriptural Interpretation, Faith and Life, Sermon Engagement#SermonOnTheMount, #BibleStudy, #FaithJourney, #JesusTeachings, #SpiritualGrowth, #DivineInspiration, #ScriptureAnalysis, #ContextualReading, #SpiritualReflection, #GospelSermons, #FaithDiscussion, #ChristianTeachings, #TheologyStudy, #UnderstandingScripture, #RelationshipWithGod, #SpiritualDirection, #BiblicalNarratives, #HistoricalJesus, #FaithExploration, #ScriptureWisdom, #SpiritualLessons, #JesusMinistry, #CatholicPerspective, #SermonBreakdown, #GospelReadings, #DivineFaith, #SermonInterpretation, #SpiritualGuidance, #PersonalTransformation, #BibleInContext, #DivineMessage, #FaithApplication, #GospelContext, #SpiritualJourney, #SermonEngagement, #FaithAndLife, #FatherAndJoe, #ChristianFaith, #SpiritualEnlightenment

In this sermon, Pastor Jason emphasizes the importance of praying faithfully—not simply to receive earthly rewards, but to experience the greatest reward of all: an intimate, daily relationship with our Creator. Using Matthew 6, Pastor Jason highlights key truths about prayer from Jesus' teachings. Jesus models the importance of identifying the object of our prayer, committing to God's purposes, asking for help, and most importantly, seeking the presence of God. While the structure of the Sermon on the Mount provides valuable guidance, Pastor Jason stresses that "prayer is not a discipline to perfect but a dependence to surrender to.” Ultimately, this sermon encourages listeners to faithfully build a relationship with God through prayer and recognize that God is our ultimate reward. Highlight – “Do you know what a disciple is?” In part two of our insightful conversation with Jim Putman, we delve deep into defining discipleship as per biblical context. Using Matthew 4:19 as a basis, Putman discusses how we must understand and apply Jesus' invitation effectively to cultivate a deeper relationship with disciples. He emphasizes realizing shared understanding, a shared process, and shared methodology to facilitate unified discipleship. By using Christ's transformed New Testament definition of the church, Putman helps readers redefine words like 'disciple' and 'church' in the original biblical sense. Drawing parallels with sports teams and their teamwork, he underlines the importance of understanding terms and expressions in alignment with culture and scripture to avoid communication deficits. Using Matthew 18 as a touch point for discussion of the inner child is what we call using a "spiritual sense" of Scripture. It's fascinating to me that Jesus emphasized His teaching in 18 and part of 19 by placing children before Him (remember that chapter and verse numbers were not in the original writings, but added for our convenience). Like flesh and blood parables, children bookend His teaching on boundaries, and we learn that not only are healthy boundaries necessary to faith in dealing with one another in the family of God, but they're also necessary in human and faith development, too. "Who Should Come To Jesus?". Using Matthew 11:28 - 30 As Our Text, We Consider Who Should And Who Should NOT Come To Jesus.
In this sermon by Vijay Pillai, the focus is on biblical greatness, contrasting it with worldly views of power. Using Matthew 20:17-28, Pillai highlights Jesus' teaching that true greatness in God's Kingdom lies in serving and sacrificing for others, as exemplified by Jesus himself. The sermon urges believers to follow this model of selfless service and humility, emulating Christ's example.
Do you ever give up to soon in your prayer life? We all know that God knows our every need, even before we ask it. So why even ask? Won't He give it to me if He really wants to? Prayer does a lot more than give us what we want or act as some wish list at Christmas time. Prayer has the ability to change our hearts and steer us in a whole new life direction. But what if we give up on a prayer to soon? Today, let's talk about being persistant. I mean, annoying persistance!! Using Matthew 7, we are encouraged to continue asking until one of two things happens: 1) God grants us what we ask for or 2) God changes our hearts to ask for something different.
What if everything you've been taught about God's punishment for sinners is actually true? In this eye-opening episode, I've been called "TikTok's greatest false prophet" for sharing the hard-hitting truth about the consequences of rejecting Christ and living in sin. Join me as we discuss how the Bible clearly teaches that there are no agnostics or atheists, only the righteous and the unrighteous, and the eternal punishment that awaits those who choose to suppress the truth. We'll explore the severity of God's justice as He holds us all accountable for our sins, and how His fiery indignation will consume those who reject Him. Using Matthew 25 and the story of the separation of the sheep and the goats, we reveal the everlasting fire that awaits those who refuse to accept His grace and live in disobedience. Christ's words "depart from me, you cursed" serve as a chilling reminder of the reality that the Bible teaches.Don't miss this thought-provoking conversation as we examine the eternal punishment for unbelievers and challenge you to confront the possibility that what the Bible says about God's wrath and judgment is indeed true. You'll be compelled to reflect on your own beliefs and consider the gravity of God's law, as we emphasize that there is no avoiding His justice. Listen in and prepare to have your perspective challenged like never before.Support the show
In this sermon, Paul David Tripp turns to the New Testament to conclude his 14-part series on the life of David. Using Matthew 1:1, Tripp teaches on five unshakeable truths that we can learn from the genealogy of Jesus.Preached on February 8, 2009.
In this week's message, we dive into the danger of believing without surrender. Through Acts 5:12-21, we see how bold obedience triggers opposition and releases God's miracles. However, many people struggle to live boldly for Jesus because they live with a belief in Jesus instead of living with surrender to Him. Using Matthew 26:20-25 and Matthew 7:21-23, we learn that without repentance and surrender, we'll always go back to who we were before Jesus. Join us as we explore the importance of repentance and surrender in our walk with Jesus and how it takes us from working for Jesus to walking with Jesus out of an overflow of our love for Him.

This is a message from Spring Session 2021 with JaVon Howse. We put Spring Session 2.0 together in early 2021 to answer the question, “What did we learn from the past year? What are we leaving behind and what are we taking with us as we seek to live with and become more like Christ?” Discussion Questions 1. Are you, like JaVon, tired of Netflix? What were some of the ways you used your time over this past year? Were some of the ways good and healthy? Were any of them not? Be honest with yourself and others as you talk and reflect. 2. JaVon describes the past year as a storm that we all had to go through together. Additionally, he pointed out that we have our own family's, and individual storms happening simultaneously- this is new territory for most of us. What has this been like for you? What has helped, and what hasn't? 3. Using Matthew 4: 1-11 as a reference, JaVon asks an interesting question. “How many of us, if we were offered the entire year back, would say no because of the growth that you made in your relationship with Christ?” How would you answer that question? Has it been a year of growth? Setbacks and hardship? For most of us, it's been a difficult mix of both. 4. Using Philippians 3:12-14 and a sports analogy, we are challenged to learn from the storms and losses that we have faced in life. Have you learned any lessons this year that you want to take with you? 5. As things continue to move forward and return back to normal, JaVon encourages us to take God with us because “God is the only consistent thing that will always be there for us.” Do you believe this? How has this past year made it harder or easier for you to believe that God is always with us? What are some practical ways that we can learn from the past, move forward with God, and in turn, strengthen our relationship with Jesus and become more like Him? Scripture References: Psalm 57: 1 Matthew 4:1-11 Philippians 3:12-14

In this episode, we explore one of the most talked about prophecies in Scripture: the “seventy weeks” described in the ninth chapter of Daniel. Examining this important prophecy, we seek to answer three questions: When will the seventy weeks begin and end? What are the signs this prophecy is coming true? And what will be the end of the age when this prophecy is fulfilled? Using Matthew 24 as a help, we conclude that the abomination of desolation is coming and will take mankind by surprise.

After being married for 2 months as a single man who had been praying and eagerly waiting for a spouse. Using Matthew 10:26 as reference, these are three key reflections I have found: 1. Who you were before marriage will come with you into your marriage (fortunately we are able to grow with the holy spirit and our spouse). 2. People who are doing it the wrong way will be exposed and we need to not fear them, but rather fear Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28). 3. Do not hide anything from your spouse that can effect intimacy. Practice pre marriage by exposing yourself to God.
Continuing in our Reset series, this lesson explores the foundation we should have as Christians. Using Matthew 7:24-28 as the primary text, this lesson develops two main ideas, as follows: (1) God is our foundation that is unshakable and never changes, and (2) the Scriptures, God’s Word, is our foundation for survival. The lesson ends with an invitation to respond to the message.

As a general rule, we as a people, are not very fond of being called remnants. However, in this case, being a remnant is considered a good thing. After all, when God decided to do away with either parts of, or the entire Earth in the Old Testament, there were some people left behind, otherwise considered as "remnants". Using Matthew 28:18 as one example, First Lady Darlene Bazemore goes into the details of it, as we take a look at exactly what it means to be a remnant on this edition of Restoration Place on the King James Radio Network.

REVIEW. “What did you take away from last time?” [Refer to last week’s responses.] “How did that go?” READ. 2 Timothy 1:7 – today we are looking at the Spirit’s gift of love. Summary: We receive love as we give love in faith. Discussion Questions: 1. According to Romans 5:5, what does the Holy Spirit pour into us? Download | Subscribe (FREE) In this episode, Rev. Beverly Gibson and Johnny Gwin continue to discuss the issue of the nature (and confusion) of Jesus as both human and divine. Using Matthew's gospel of the account of the Pharisee's Lawyer trying to trap Jesus with the question of "What is the greatest commandment," Rev. Gibson reveals that there is more to the greatest commandments. Jesus answered "loving God with all your heart, soul and mind" is the greatest commandment but he also added a second part to his answer, the "Golden Rule." Loving your neighbor as yourself is the coat hanger in which all the rules and laws of God is shaped and formed. Is understanding the letter and the spirit of the "Golden Rule" the lynchpin that connects all the lessons, laws, and ideas in Christianity? What would the world be like if more of us asked the question "Am I being loving" in all of our deeds and relationships? In our present cultural moment, we have gone beyond uncomfortable silence with discourse. We have been actively resistant and hostile to silence and have been moved straight to outright rage and protest when we hear things that trigger internal opposition to ideas and theories. Thinking needs the head and the heart. When we quit listening to someone because they don't "see things like us" we might be doing ourselves a disservice to understanding something more or in a deeper way. Jesus had a way of using "silence" in his teachings. Not only is there wisdom and faith in his words but also in his "between the lines" delivery if his messages. Jesus left his detractors silenced when he was challenged. He gave those that wanted to destroy him the time and respect to at least hear them out, and then after a pause of powerful silence lovingly gave them the chance to hear and absorb the truth that he was freely teaching to everyone to turn people toward God. Takeaway: This week "Just Give 5 Minutes" to prayer, yourself and your neighbors. Especially those neighbors that think and see our world much different than you.
