Roie Galitz (born 1980) is an award-winning, NYC based, wildlife photographer and entrepreneur. For over a decade, he has been exploring and documenting our planet's wildlife and nature, from the Arctic to the Antarctic. His intimate and innovative work (BBC, Nat Geo) gets great exposure worldwide, millions of views and frequent appearances in the media. It was presented in local and international exhibitions, featured in exclusive magazines and honored with over 70 international awards, including the prestigious Picture of the Year for reportage of Science and Natural History. With equal passion and commitment, Roie is acting as a Greenpeace ambassador and engaging in conservation work around the globe. His video and still photography is a strong testimony to the struggle of the majestic animals he meets throughout his expedition, under the threats of climate change . To help protect them, he shares their stories in fascinating talks. He is recognized for his talks at the United Nations HQ, the NYC Climate Week and TEDx talks in Helsinki University, Glasgow and Wexford alongside global conventions everywhere. In his homeland of Israel, Roie is a leading figure in the field of photography and was named to The Marker's magazine 40 under 40 list. Henri Dauman and his camera lens have been witness to some of the most famous people and memorable events in modern history.  His photographs splashed across magazines like LIFE, LOOK and  PARIS MATCH in the heydays of those publications and vaulted him to the top of his field. He visits with Mark Thompson and J Elvis Weinstein and although they begin with discussions of his photography and his iconic photos chronicling American life, the emotional, personal story that is Henri's life is one they discuss in detail as well. Henri's father was killed by the Nazis at Auschwitz and his mother died in a freakish accident when Henri was only 13.  This, after his mother and be had separated and survived hiding from the Nazis as they rose to power in France. Last week I shared an interview with Independent Midwife, Nicky Grace to showcase the wonderful women that are midwives, but also to highlight the challenge that Uk Independent Midwives are facing due to a new ruling that will prevent them from continuing their valuable work. But, to be honest, there is nothing more powerful that sharing a real life story of what the difference an independent midwife can make for a woman. Well the story I'm sharing today IS that story. Here's Hannah in her own words "Before I was a birth photographer or a doula, I was a mother. My own children’s births were what led me into the doula and birth photography work I do today . Each of my births was drastically different. They demanded me to grow and change in ways that I never could have anticipated. Each of my birth stories held lessons and gifts. I wouldn’t be the same without them. My birth journeys were so impactful that I knew I had to help and document other women as they transitioned into motherhood. I delved into birth work by becoming a doula, and soon found that my other true passion is in capturing all the incredible moments of the birthing day." During my chat Hannah shares her difficult journey that ultimately led to her incredible healing VBAC for her third baby.
