Riddle me this, riddle me that…who's afraid of Matt Reeves' The Bat(man)? Not Paul and Arlo, that's for sure, at least not with Project Batman vet Kenn Edwards at their side. There's a lot of ground to cover, beginning with: Did we need the 897th Batman movie? Of course not, but since we're here, the gang discusses Robert Pattinson's turn as the Caped Crusader, the film's emphasis on detective work, whether or not the story is served by a three-hour runtime, and much, much more. NEXT: Smile! For this month's Four-Color Flashback, Paul and Arlo have a little dental work done with Raina Telgemeier's autobiographical novel. On episode 62 of Popcorn Hangover, we take a look at 3 very different movies from March. Fresh, a new horror movie on Hulu. The Adam Project, a light time-travel Netflix movie. Finally, The Batman, which is the latest reboot of the franchise starring Robert Pattinson (and also somehow our first Batman movie on the pod). We also talk a little bit about Scream, as well as Hulu's hit show, The Dropout. It is a jam packed episode to make up for a month away from recording! Project Batman is BACK, BABY!! The guys discuss what they've been up to in the past year, how they plan on moving the project forward, and discuss Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice!
Kenn Edwards and Rosy & Tom Wagoner return to discuss a plethora of divisive topics (Reality TV, American entitlement, 2016's political climate, PC culture/changing language, dealing with friends/family gun-rights supporters, vaporizing & even conspiracies), BUT in the most light-hearted and fun way possible, as well dip into their current life setting working menial jobs in pizza in their ongoing strive for unshackled artistic freedom. Remember: all opinions featured within were only those of the moment, so please only find @TheKennEdwards, @Breasticules, & @TWagzSr on Twitter to love and follow us, not to yell at us. Well, you can yell at me, just don't yell at my two friends. Email the show at soletsgettothepoint@gmail.com. Please subscribe, rate, and review this show and Project Batman on iTunes.
Kenn Edwards and Vincent Ottobre of Project Batman get together to discuss their initial reactions to the long-awaited Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens! Follow @TheKennEdwards.
Kenn Edwards invites Project Batman co-creator Vincent Ottobre back on the show to geek out and revel in their utter excitement of the imminent release of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens! Fears, expectations, anticipations, proclamations, hypotheticalization, interstellar planetary invasion, and guaranteed brain stimulation, all in one entertaining conversation! But this isn't the end! This is only the prequel, to the actual episode that we're all looking forward to being able to have: in just a day or so, the duo returns to discuss their thoughts, feelings, and general reactions to the most anticipated movie of perhaps their entire lives. Until then, enjoy this episode! The Force is strong with this one.
Kenn Edwards gathers comedians Winston Hodges, TJ Ferguson, Paige Campbell, and Tom Wagoner for a discussion intended to focus on the ethics of "covering" other comedians' material that quickly branches into an array of various topics, from the meanings and differences in personal belief structures to other more common subjects like relationships and TV shows. Five comedians in a room will never not make for an extremely satisfying two hours. Dig in, friends. The guys discuss what to expect in the upcoming video show, and are cut off from a lot of miscellaneous opinions and topics by a very unfortunate technical malfuntion. :(
Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is swinging back into theaters with The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and we're on hand to dissect it. There is just so much going on in this movie that Paul and AJ have recruited another villain for their burgeoning franchise: Kenn Edwards of So Let's Get to the Point and Project Batman. The gang is sharply divided on just how good Marc Webb's sequel is and just how much plot is too much plot, but the common ground is surprising. Namely, the film's faithful portrayal of Spidey himself; the adorability of Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy; and the power of one particularly iconic moment. Plus, Paul shares some shocking casting news, and AJ and Kenn dig on Louie. Next: K. Dale Koontz and Ensley F. Guffey join us to discuss their book Wanna Cook? The Complete, Unofficial Companion to Breaking Bad. Meth and/or egomania not required.
The guys play some music they've worked on, talk about the storyboard for the scene their working on, and lots of other things that are mostly not related to Batman or this project! Kenn saw The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and enjoyed it very much. Follow us on instagram to see our regular updates! Username: weareprojectbatman! Twitter: @Project_Batman

It's here. Finally, after a year of writing and a month of difficulties, the Batman Immortal official screenplay comes to life in this energetic table read. Containing scores from "Batman: The Animated Series" as well as two original compositions by Vincent Ottobre, a temp soundtrack is added for a true cinematic feel. Read along with us by downloading the .pdf at batmanimmortal/com/read-the-screenplay and join us in our presentation of what we hope, in a few short years, will be the best Batman film to grace the world's eyes for years to come.
After finishing their latest edits, Project Batman sends copies of Batman: Immortal to Paul & AJ of the esteemed podcast Gobbledygeek to read through the script from the geekiest of perspectives, inspecting for anything the boys might have missed. Do they lock in a final version of the script after the call? You'll have to listen to find out! Check out all the nerdy goodness Gobbledygeek is up to at gobbledygeekpodcast.com!
Project Batman finishes the massive undertaking that was sifting through script feedback, to finally put the last editing touches on their screenplay! You can hear them finish it live! Next: The boys send their edited script to the guys of the Gobbledygeek podcast for the final review before cementing it all.
The long and winding road of the Gobbledy-Book Club has led us here, through factories and caves and cellars, to the final two chapters of J.J. Abrams and Doug Dorst's S. Paul and AJ host an all-star jam band reunion of their co-readers: Paul's better half Pam Smith, whom we have to thank for just about everything; The Debatable Podcast host and Ukrainian royal Greg Sahadachny; and Kenn Edwards of So Let's Get to the Point and Project Batman, who might just be recording your entire existence as a podcast. Believe it or not, the show is (mostly) able to contain all five of them as they get to the important business of discussing the conclusions of both Ship of Theseus and the Jen/Eric marginalia, the importance of endings, and the open-ended nature of many of the tale's mysteries (sound familiar, Lost fans?). Plus, the gang says goodbye to the late, great Harold Ramis. Next: the boys are on their own again to pay tribute to the work of Harold Ramis. They'll be watching Meatballs, Stripes, Ghostbusters, and Groundhog Day.
The guys continue trudging through the final pass on their script... with optimism!!
In the first Kenn-and-Otto-only episode since very early in the project, the two of them continue making progress on the final rewrite of the script, changing multiple common problem areas for the better! Check out the official Project Batman website, and read the FINAL version of the script at www.batmanimmortal.com!!
Chris joins Kenn & Otto in Sean's absense, as they begin reshaping some problematic scenes in their script. Check out our official website, where you can read the completed script, http://batmanimmortal.com!!
The group begins the undertaking of the final rewrites! With special guest Chris "Lemme Get" Dillon! In order to keep to our one phase per year statement, we'll be releasing 8 episodes in the next 8 days! So here's for a productive podcasting week. ALSO: we have a website now! Check us out at http://www.batmanimmortal.com!!!
The penultimate installment of the Gobbledy-Book Club is here, as Kenn Edwards of So Let's Get to the Point and Project Batman joins Paul and AJ to discuss chapters 7-8 of J.J. Abrams and Doug Dorst's S. The book--both books!--is heading toward its conclusion, so of course, things only get more complicated. S. becomes the assassin he was destined to be, Jen and Eric draw closer and closer, and major headway is made in the pair's investigation. Oh, and there's a napkin. We talk a lot about the napkin. Plus, the gang talks about Funko's incredibly expansive 2014 toy line. Next: discussion of S. draws to a close with an all-star jam band reunion of our co-readers.
The guys discuss the last two episodes of feedback and lay out how they should go about the rewrite after lots of feedback.
Shifting identities. Confessions of love. Chases in the dark. Names. Lots of names. These things and more can be found in chapters 4-6 of J.J. Abrams and Doug Dorst's S., here discussed by your learned and astute co-readers. The Debatable Podcast's Greg Sahadachny joins Paul and AJ for the second week of the Gobbledy-Book Club, talking about the unique way he started reading the book, whether Eric and Jen's marginalia or Ship of Theseus itself is more captivating, and what a "second" is. If the boys scratched the surface last week, this time they plunge headfirst into the dark, mysterious world of S. Come on in, the water's fine. Next: discussion of S. continues as Kenn Edwards of So Let's Get to the Point and Project Batman helps explore chapters 7 and 8.
Kenn sits down with regulars on his other podcast (So Let's Get To The Point), Tom & Rosy Wagoner, to get their reactions after reading the Batman: Immortal script.
The guys brace themselves for their first round of in-person, page-by-page review. Things get fun, tense, emotional, defensive, and overall (and most importantly) productive. Guests include indie writer/director Joseph William Lewis (watch his film "Nowheresville" at YouTube.com/ToastedSchizo - Kenn plays a role in it!), Batman fan (though not familiar with B:TAS) Randall Hodge, and previous guest and B:TAS fan Christian Cooke. Follow @Project_Batman, @TheKennEdwards, @ToastedSchizo, @randallhodge, & @cooke9000.
The guys make through their independent pass of the script before sending it to print, to send it out to test readers! Next time: we sit down with test readers to discuss it!
The guys fall behind a bit when they realize they should probably totally re-work the Batcave ambush, as well as make a few more edits. More of the writing process!
The boys go through their rough draft page-by-page to ensure ultimate scriptiness!
Kenn brings the rough draft of the climax to read through before the rest of the groupd does their final pass on the script... they have a script printed out before new years!
The guys spend a long time hanging out and having fun writing the climax of the film! This episode is split over two locations: the regular Batcave recording cove, and, Waffle House!!
The ambush and hallucination scenes are brough forth in rough draft form.
Post-birthday party madness, and deep into the script-writing process, the Bat-team presents new rough drafts of scenes and reviews old ones.
The guys celebrate Otto's birthday and Kenn's return with some brand new scenes! Complete with lots of chatter about multiple things.
The guys re-hash some stuff the was lost in an episode you'll never hear, and read some scenes that Vincent brings for the first time! Vincent & Sean are in the Bat-Cave as always, as Kenn records via car-phone from Lake Tahoe, CA!
The guys meet up, enjoy themselves, and discuss a few details about upcoming scenes to be written/stages of production.
The guys catch up for the first time in weeks, barely talking about the project for a long time, before finally settling in near the end and editing some new scenes.
All the Dillon brothers are present, we go over the script skeleton, and have the first totally legit disagreement/argument on air! Spoiler Alert: It all works out.
It's the six-month anniversary episode! Everyone hangs out, eats food, and debuts new animatics!
After a discussion about the newly announced cinematic Batman, the boys connect all the dots and complete the fully-formed scene-by-scene structure for their movie! And it looks hopeful!
The guys discuss orchestration and choir for their soundtrack (as well as play a sample), FINALLY figure out the perfect way to fix a major problem they were having with story, and spend the last part of the show going over Breaking Bad!!
The boys make promises to one another that they have every intention of keeping, some updates on voiceover work is discussed, and the guys read and edit the 2nd draft of act 1, and follow that by making story improvements!
Otto presents the consolidated finale, Kenn presents some new ideas, and everybody makes everything way better in general.
The guys look over old notes and decide what to trash and what to implement into the skeleton of their script. Also, prank phone calls.
The continue to build there bridge between beginning and end, and a discussion brings about an unanswered question that we now look forward to finding out: how long is this film actually going to be??
The group takes sentences and begins to turn them into paragraphs. If you have to ask, it means you haven't listened, and if you haven't listened, then that means you should.
