Always was a big fan of Techno though the years, Early sets of Carl Cox or the Mazzo Mixup cd in the 90's. Still listen to them these days on a regulair basis. But never found the style techno that was the one for me to play. Untill around 2018 i stumbelt on a mix from Remco Beekwilder. This was the style i searched for all those years. So i send the guy a message asking which labels and artists i have to follow for this sound. Never expected an response but the guy is actualy an realy nice guy. He gave me labels, artists. It was great. So the search begon, first thing i noticed that a lot of thes artists released on vinyl also. So i knew it would be an expensive search haha. Now 5 years later i own about 400 techno vinyls of which a little over 200 will be from the years 2012 and on. This mix includeds the artists and labels i become to love the most. Labels like Emerald, Perc Trax, Genosha Basic, Green Fetish Records or ARTS. With the artists like Offcource Remco Beekwilder, Ghost In The Machine, Somniac One, Perc and VTSS. This mix will contain Heavy Beats, some Acid Snears, lots of old Rave influences but most of all some Hard and Dark Kickdrums!! So just give it a go!! Play it out load!! This week's Local Selection Mix has been provided by David Purcell (Scordor). The Kildare based DJ and producer has provided us with a slamming mix comprised of driven and bouncy techno from start to finish. Sit tight. This gets wild. Scordor first realised his passion for dance music (most notably techno) from the tender age of 18. Having discovered this vested interested from frequenting Hangar, which led him to start producing dance music from an early age. Since then, he has jolted into the Dublin techno scene. Amassing supports for Remco Beekwilder, Thomas P. Heckmann and SHCHXCHX in the process. Scordor made his Cellar debut last Saturday alongside Andy MC, P.RAW.N and Jon Hussey for the Embedded takeover in what was a stellar evening from start to finish. It was filled with high-octane techno from the get-go which was a terrific evening filled with quality dance music. The Manifest Collective follow up their debut release with a 6 track Various Artist EP from some of the countries rising producers. Today we premiere a track from FÍACHRA entitled 'Bad Habits'. Bursting onto the scene back in 2019 throwing parties in Dublin, the crew welcomed the likes of Remco Beekwilder and Thomas P Heckmann to the capital, before Covid put a halt to the world's dance plans. The Manifest Record label is due to launch their second compilation on June 11th, featuring tracks from Carlton Banqs, D.A.L.I.E.N, Libra, RAMKKA and FÍACHRA, whose track we premiere today. FÍACHRA started producing house and techno in his home studio back in 2016, and has since gone on to develop his style towards the harder, fast paced side of acid techno. With a broad taste in music, he takes influence from trance and hard house, among others. As he continued to develop his style, he began releasing tracks on SoundCloud, culminating in his debut '1998' EP on 'Platform Dublin' last year, plus a whole host of labels since. In the wake of the pandemic he formed a collective called 'Express Galway' with hometown friends Shane Gleeson (SMBG) and Tom Fallon, with the aim of promoting mixes and tracks from up and coming Irish DJs and producers. They also plan to release their first Various Artist compilation this year with much more planned under the Express label in the near future. 'Bad Habits' gives a sense of what to expect from the release, as FÍACHRA brings the noise with a slamming hard house track with trance elements throughout, and heavy rave samples ending in a wicked breakdown. The Manifest Collective and party starters first shot onto our radar in 2019 with their techno club shows, bookings and parties, welcoming the likes of Remco Beekwilder and Thomas P Heckmann to Dublin. Like the rest of the country and pretty much the world [except those lucky folk in New Zealand], club shows are very much on hold, but that doesn't mean the music has to stop. This month, the team behind the party series will launch their Manifest Record label, which is a brand new venture for the Manifest team, as they aim to work with some of the country's rising and established producers, helping to showcase the immense talent that we have here on this small island of ours. The team will also be branching into the international scene, as they aim to bring a wide variety of electronic sounds and styles to their label and collective. Our first Local Selection of 2021 is from Kildare born and bred, Furlo, the DJ and producer responsible for the excellent Manifest collective. Since the age of 16, Furlo has found his passion in DJing, but it was only within the last couple of years that he found his style in techno. Taking inspiration from the likes of Dyen, Nico Moren and Perc, Furlo is known to play the dark, heavier side of techno. In 2019 saw Furlo on support duties for some of our favourite techno heavy-hitters, such as Remco Beekwilder, Yant, JKS & Mayeul alongside multiple DJ sets around Dublin and Ireland. Prior to lockdown at the beginning of 2020, Furlo supported the legendary Thomas P. Heckmann on his eagerly anticipated return to Irish shores. With 2020 being a complete whitewash for the club scene, Furlo and his Manifest team have been busy building their Manifest podcast series, recruiting a whole host of Irish talent for their series. For our ninth edition of the Equilibrisme Podcast Series, we proudly present you: Quadrant Soundscapes. Quadrant Soundscape are Tommy Harrison and Wilson Logan from Manchester. Together, they are the minds behind the Dub Explorations Radio Show, which has also branched out into live events with several very hot and loud parties at the famous Eastern Bloc Records. This has also led to them being invited to play many gigs in Manchester, London and Berlin. Individually, Tommy produces music as Asphalt Layer. His deep, electronic and dubby sound being heard on multiple record labels worldwide. Incorporating analog machines and field recordings to generate the many noises he uses in his productions, along with that 90's Jungle influence, his sound is very recognisable. And Wilson has begun a new alias, Scavenger, where he dives deep into the murky, experimemtal and dark, trippy techno world to produce very unique mixes. This alias allows Wilson to experiemnt more with his records and sound, often performing in a dark room on 4 decks alone. With a rich history of playing records and putting parties on in Manchester, hosting the likes of Remco Beekwilder, Ambivalent, Radioactiveman, Detroit Techno Militia, Mark Archer, Jerome Hill, El Choop, ODrex Records and Conforce, the boys have already secured some amazing artists for 2020 and intend to keep pushing that vibe they believe in and love. The spawn of Bleeding.Midi was in 2015. It is a collaborative project by two guys in the industrial Ruhr area of Germany. Tom, a born and raised Bochumer, and Sebastian, who moved to Bochum for university. They met at SAE Bochum and soon realized that their taste for music production was identical. Only a few months after the name was born, they became residents at Canvas, a local Bochum party series, and shared the decks with big names like TWR72 and Remco Beekwilder.
