Ryan Stonehouse setzt auf ein zweites Standbein, Patrick Mahomes hat Beef und einige Free Agents suchen neue (oder alte) Clubs.
The Tennessee Titans fell to 4-8 on Sunday when they lost 31-28 in overtime to the Indianapolis Colts. The game included several special teams blunders, injuries to some of Tennessee's most important players, and an uncommon sideline interaction between a couple of players. All in all, it was an unusual affair that resulted in an all-too-common outcome for the Titans. ... The fallout of this latest loss began when special teams coordinator Craig Aukerman was fired on Monday. Aukerman had directed the Titans' special teams since the start of the 2018 season but paid the price for a disastrous performance. Mike Vrabel said he was the one who fired Aukerman. Still, there is ample evidence to suggest the order to do so came from much higher up. ... Third-year linebacker Monty Rice, a third-round pick in 2021, was released on Tuesday and subsequently claimed by the New Orleans Saints. His departure marks the latest failure of recent early selections. ... The Titans signed rookie punter Ty Zentner to replace Ryan Stonehouse, who sustained a season-ending injury as part of the special teams debacle against the Colts. ... Veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins did not hide his disappointment when rookie quarterback Will Levis threw a pass out of bounds and well out of Hopkins' reach. The two then had an animated sideline discussion that showed the interesting dynamic that exists between the two. ... Cornerback Kristian Fulton sustained a familiar injury late in the loss to the Colts, and his status for Monday's game at Miami is in doubt. Even though Fulton has not always played his best this season, the timing of his latest ailment could not be worse given the challenges the Dolphins' offense presents. To make matters worse, Jeffery Simmons will be out with an injury of his own, which will hinder the ability of the pass rush to help out the secondary.

The Tennessee Titans fired special teams coach Craig Aukerman on Monday after a disaster performance against the Colts. This may inspire hope in Mike Vrabel as the head coach, but there are still major concerns. Next, we got injury updates on Derrick Henry, Jeffery Simmons and Ryan Stonehouse. Some is good, some is bad, but Simmons shouldn't play the rest of the season. Finally, Jaelyn Duncan has now started two games at left tackle and it is clear from the film he is not an answer on the 2024 offensive line.Follow Tyler on Twitter @TicTacTitansFollow the show on Facebook @LockedOnTitansPodSubscribe to the Locked On Titans YouTube channel:https://www.youtube.com/c/LockedOnTitans/videosSupport Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!DoorDashGet 50% off up to $10 value when you spend $15 or more on your FIRST order, when you download the DoorDash app and enter code LOCKED23. Two of the biggest personnel moves the Tennessee Titans made in 2022 remain topics of discussion after the Philadelphia Eagles, with wide receiver A.J. Brown and punter Brett Kern, reach the Super Bowl. The Titans traded Brown to Philadelphia in a draft-day deal that continues to haunt the franchise given his personal success and Tennessee's regression in the passing game this season. The argument even can be made that Brown has a lot to do with why Philadelphia is still playing. Kern lost his job to undrafted rookie Ryan Stonehouse. That move worked out for both sides as Stonehouse set an NFL record for Tennessee and Kern, after spending most of the season out of action, gets a chance to cap his career with a championship. ... Speaking of the Super Bowl, the Titans faced both teams -- Philadelphia and Kansas City -- during the regular season. Tennessee lost both but in decidedly different manners. ... Ran Carthon will have to cut players to get under the salary cap and does not have a ton of draft capital. His first offseason as Titans general manager, therefore, will be drastically different than Jon Robinson's first (2016), which was a turning point for the franchise. ... Carthon also has gone on the record with what he likes in a quarterback and one of the current Titans fits the bill. But it is possible that he could call on connections with his former team, the San Francisco 49ers, at that position along with a few others.

The word "collaboration" was used often during Ran Carthon's introductory press conference as Tennessee Titans general manager. Whether it was in the way he talked about working with coach Mike Vrabel, his unscheduled visit with the local media ahead of that event or several other things, there was nothing to suggest that the use of that word is just lip service. Carthon gave the impression that his experience, his ego and his personal expectations are all secondary to the success of the team. ... Tight ends coach Luke Steckel will interview with the Los Angeles Chargers in that team's search for an offensive coordinator. Having been with Tennessee for a decade and a position coach for two years, the son of former Titans offensive coordinator Les Steckel has not been considered a factor in the search for Todd Downing's replacement. Should people have been looking at this guy, and is Mike Vrabel doing exactly that? ... The Titans' 2022 draft class remains a work in progress with the likes of Malik Willis (third round), Treylon Burks (first round) and Chance Campbell (sixth round) having had little or no opportunity to show what they can do. But the contributions of Roger McCreary (second round), Nicholas Petit-Frere (third round) and Chig Okonkwo (fourth round) along with those of undrafted players such as record-setting punter Ryan Stonehouse, cornerback Tre Avery and linebacker Jack Gibbens made Tennessee's rookie class one of the best this season, based on an ESPN analysis that used metrics from two advanced statistics sites. ... Finally, the hosts each pick a statistic that best sums up the Titans' 2022 season.
Justin Michael is joined by Titans rookie punter Ryan Stonehouse. Throughout the interview the two discuss what it was like to be an undrafted free agent going up against an established successful specialist in training camp, how doubters continue to fuel Stonehouse's fire, what it meant to him to become a part of the league's history & so much more!
