Send us a textIn this episode of Please Don't Spoil The Movie, we dive into a forgotten gem: A Simple Wish. This 1997 family fantasy-comedy follows the magical adventure of a young girl, Anabel Greening, who gets mixed up with a bumbling fairy godfather, an evil witch, and a wish gone hilariously wrong. Tune in as we explore the surprising lack of diversity in the fairy godparent community, the dream of making it to Broadway, and Nebraska.

"I just feel lucky that I got a chance to share my crummy story with anyone out there who thinks they’re the only one to take a dump in a paper shredder. You’re not alone sister. Let’s get a beer sometime." Meredith Palmer is Dunder Mifflin’s resident partier, Supplier Relations rep, minivan driver, and PhD of school psychology. We devote this week’s episode to her and how she’s become more and more of a favorite character of ours over time. We go through all the car accidents, rabies incidents, shaved heads and surprise rehab visits she has during the show, while highlighting all the times she helps out other characters and unapologetically is herself. “Shaboom! How do you like me now?" After that we head to the conference room to discuss what the show would be like without Andy, give some quarantine TV/movie picks, and play another round of Office trivia. Good night, Mary Beth! Support our show and become a member of Scott's Tots on Patreon! For only $5/month, Tots get exclusive access to our monthly Mailbag episodes (+ the video version!) where we casually pick through every single message/question/comment we receive. On top of that, a portion of all show proceeds are donated every month to organizations that help fund education opportunities for minority students. What an honour to announce this weeks special, a perfectly balanced and well rounded Bourbon. And it's n one less than NYC house legend Joeski serving you his favorite sip! The name Joeski should ring a bell with every house music lover out there. His career goes back to 1991, when he entered the NYC house music scene as a founding member of The Chocolate Factory DJ collective. He delighted crowds at almost mythical venues like Limelight, Tunnel, Palladium and NASA, helped turn “Save The Robots” into a NYC afterhours institution and earned his first residency at “Together” parties at the legendary Roxy, playing alongside the likes of Danny Tenaglia, Louie Vega and Roger Sanchez. DJing since the late 80s and producing since 1991, over the years he's chalked up an almost endless string of singles and EPs on some of the most respected labels in the house game, from Siesta, Tango Recordings and Shaboom to, more recently, Saved, Defected, Crosstown Rebels, Moon Harbour and Poker Flat. That's as well, of course, as the many releases on his own Maya Recordings label, which he's founded in 2001. Joeski's known for his versatile style, only doing straight-up house gets him bored, he once said. He likes to do different things within the genre. Joeski's Bourbon is on the high-energy side of the genre and includes several unreleased edits, remixes and originals of him. Also the sexy acid stomper "Miss you" which has just been released on Maya Recordings days ago, is in there. Fueled by his genuine love of the music, there’s no doubt that Joeski will continue to evolve both behind the decks and in the studio, captivating new generations of club-goers and maintaining his place as one of dance music’s most enduring talents. Cheers! The bartenders Link up! This week Seth is joined by parent and author Aviva Brown, parent and author Jamie Beth Cohen, Educator Jaz Twersky, and parent and educator Sam Schindler for a discussion about how to talk to kids about Judaism. This episode is primarily geared toward non-Jewish folks with the intention to offer some information about Judaism and how to answer children’s questions about it. For example if they see someone wearing a kippah, or have a friend celebrating a Jewish holiday. This way we as grownups can have the understanding to answer these types of questions. Only 15 episodes of the last network radio comedy series were aired before CBS cancelled the show in October of 1957. The incredible talent of Stan Freberg and his regular cast members that included Daws Butler, June Foray, and Peter Leeds , with Billy May handling the music direction created routines and unique comedy, running gags, that the audience loved, but sponsors of the show did not appreciate as Freberg often went after Madison Avenue types. The show lasted about 4 months and then shut down. Fortunately we have great transcriptions of the shows and the humor is as funny today as it was then. Stan Freberg was a multi-talented man with immense creativity. Enjoy this 12th Show in the CBS series with the lead sit "The Rocket Sled" Also heard in Stan's version of the hit song "Shaboom, Shaboom"... thanks for listening. Welcome to episode # 32 of Spacewalk radio! Our guest for this episode is none other than the man himself Mark Bell AKA Blakkat, Director and founder of Shaboom Records. The contributions this fine gent has made to underground house music has solidified his status amongst house music aficionado’s & has tremendously influenced & helped shape what the sound is today, the collaborations he’s had throughout his career is stuff of legend and It is an absolute honor & pleasure to have Mark on this month’s episode. As always please feel free to share, post or repost to help spread the love! You can also download or subscribe to our show on ITUNES here https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/spacewalk-radio/id1257792252?mt=2 ! Hope you enjoy the show and here's some more information on the man himself: L.A based Blakkat AKA Mark Bell has moved through the music world applying his golden touch to many surfaces. From a life with the major labels to the finest in underground house music clubs, the man places a stamp of quality on all that he touches. Never losing touch with the underground, Mark has been a featured vocalist for King Britt’s Sylk 130 Project as well as for Funk D’ Void and released on Josh Wink’s seminal Ovum label. It was in conjunction with the Philadelphia label that he produced his biggest underground hit to date, the massive Tweek & Roll single with label boss Wink. Continuing to put out quality material, today’s label bosses frequently turn to Blakkat for dance floor killers, with his tracks remixed by today’s hottest underground names, such as KINK, Agnes and Manuel Tur. Add this to a CV that already includes the celebrated results of studio sessions with Felix Da Housecat, Josh Wink, DJ Sneak and Marshall Jefferson, while Chez Damier, Zero 7, Jamiroqui, Wyclef Jean, A Tribe Called Quest, and The Jungle Brothers have all received his remix treatment. Blakkat productions have been remixed by David Morales, Basement Jazz, Todd Terry, Steve Bug and Armand Van Helden. Balancing this output with his own projects, Mark runs his own label Shaboom as an outlet for his own talents. It is Mark’s ability to turn in classically influenced modern house that distinguishes a Blakkat jam. Whether it be raw Chicago acid or smooth New York deepness, his assured production guarantees Mark’s tracks will move a room. The timeless quality of his work is evident in all he does, with his DJ sets referencing the past 25 years of house music with a modern, infectious twist. Regular appearances at Doc Martin’s legendary Sub Level parties best show his skills, always rocking a fiercely loyal and knowledgeable crowd. This talent has seen Mark break into the international circuit, working the floor at some of the world’s hottest clubs. Whether as a DJ or Live act, clubs such as PS1 (New York), Fabric (London), Revival (Los Angeles), Avalon (New York) Opium (Miami) The Gathering (San Francisco), Back 2 Basics (Leeds UK) Vanguard (Los Angeles), Sunset (San Francisco), Turbo (Toronto), Paradiso (Amserdam), Metropolis (Berlin), The End (London) Renaissance (Global) and Circus (Liverpool). An original member of multi-platinum selling Mercury Prize winners M People, Mark Bell was signed as a solo artist to Atlantic Records, Hollwood Records, Warners, BMG and Sony, but it is his desire to rock dance floors and gain a real connection with crowds that is driving behind the decks at the best underground spots around. Placing Blakkat in the hottest clubs around will be Barcelona based Common People. He will build on this partnership further through various projects with the boys from Spain. BlakSpun is the collaboration between legendary UK producer, DJ and musician Mark Bell (aka Blakkat) and Jason Drummond, better known as seminal SF/NY DJ Spun and founder of the ground-breaking NYC label Rong Music. Born out of a mutual love of acid house, late nights and major sound systems, their futuristic approach to the original sound of house and techno is already garnering them worldwide support thanks to remixes released on Rong Music, Shaboom and Ellum Audio. Blakkat and Spun consider themselves “lifers” in the House Gangster movement and as such it is fitting that their debut original EP, Space Powder, is released through I’m A House Gangster on 31st March 2014. It kicks off what promises to be a huge year for the boys as they take their more sophisticated approach to the big room sound to the world. In addition to working with a who's who of house and disco royalty and the hundreds of production credits these two already have under their belts, Mark was an original member of multi-platnum selling Mercury prize winners M People and Spun was the longtime music curator at NY’s MoMA/PS1 museum. On their mix, the duo state that it, “represents BlakSpun's roots from the birth of house, the trackhead and the acid sound, to the future of dance music. We wanted to show our take on the House Gangster sound with some known and under known Chicago classics, some more modern sounds, a nod to the trackheads, and a "Sneak" peak at BlakSpun's new I'm a House Gangster release.” “House music is life, community, culture, family. House music is everything! Respect goes out to to the NY, SF, LA & CHI house community!”

With releases on Shaboom, Magnetic, Robsoul, DJ Sneak Classics, and his own Cross Section Records amongst several others, London DJ / producer Chris Simmonds, aka Kidsmart, House Proud People, Smooth & Simmonds, Retro Emotion, Private Funk and Bakers Dozen is one of the long-standing veterans of underground house music and a true House Gangster. Earning his stripes in the 1980's working for Time Radio in London and running Wax Factory Records, meeting and engineering for the likes of Carl Cox, Colin Dale and Rocky (X-Press 2). It was a release on Richie Hawtin's Definitive Records that really kick started things however, and led to the birth of Cross Section Records. Chris says his mix for the Gangstercast represents him as an artist because, "I like to take risks, keeps things varied and keep the music tight. I think all those boxes are ticked on this mix." Talking about his approach for the mix he adds, "Usually before I do a mix I play for a about 15mins and see how I feel. If I feel right I simply press record and play and every track is the mood I'm in at that moment. By the time I've checked myself again I've playing for nearly 2hrs, job done and something different on the end to close. The moment was captured and delivered to you by one of the best djs you've never heard!" "House music is a very big part of my life. I wouldn't have seen so much of the world, experienced different cultures and had some of the best times of my life without House music.
