Is the Bible only for experts, or can ordinary people read and understand it themselves? This question goes back to the Reformation and still shapes how we interpret Scripture today. When you hit a verse you don't like—do you wrestle with it honestly, or twist it with “context” until it means the opposite? In this video, we'll explore: • Whether the Bible was written for common men or academic elites • How to tell the difference between helpful historical context and dangerous reinterpretation • The real danger of teachers who explain away clear passagesThe way you answer this will impact how you live out your faith.

We present our review of Black Mirror season 7!Season 7 of Black Mirror feels like a return to form—but it's not a step backwards. What we get here is a fusion: the show reclaims its original soul as a commentary on technology and society, while folding in the emotional depth and genre range introduced in Season 6.This season doesn't abandon experimentation—but now, it's anchored. Each episode is either built around a speculative piece of future tech or aimed squarely at how that tech refracts our behavior. The emotional core? Still there. But it's no longer floating in genre drift. It's grounded in editorial intent.Critics are picking up on this shift. The Guardian calls it the “warmest, most human season ever,” but still sees it as “thrilling satire.” Rotten Tomatoes and The Ringer both point to a return to “dystopian sci-fi” and say Brooker “was listening” after Season 6's detour. Even Tom's Guide praises the way Season 7 hits harder—calling episodes like Common People and Eulogy some of the show's most emotional yet.The balance is back. Technology is no longer just a backdrop or a gimmick. It's the central metaphor again. And Brooker—now more curator than sole voice—lets the anthology breathe without losing grip on the message.Black Mirror Season 7 finally answers the question Season 6 left hanging: Can this show evolve without losing itself? The answer is yes. Because this time, the tech doesn't just twist the plot—it reveals the truth.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

In this episode, we dive into Black Mirror Season 7, Episode 1 ("Common People") with writer and philosopher Emily Herring, who recently explored the show's themes of platform capitalism and cognitive exploitation in The New World. What does it mean to "subscribe" to your own mind, and how do concepts like enshittification, machinic enslavement, and time-debt shape our experience of autonomy? Along the way, we examine Henri Bergson's philosophy of memory and duration, questioning whether the qualitative dimensions of consciousness can survive under techno-capitalist regimes.Emily's article: https://www.thenewworld.co.uk/emily-herring-black-mirror-and-the-fight-to-keep-corporations-out-of-your-brain/Emily Herring's 'Herald of a Restless World': https://www.hachettebookgroup.com/titles/emily-herring/herald-of-a-restless-world/9781541600942/Support the showVintagia Pre-Launch: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/acidhorizon/vintagia-i-ching-oracle-for-psychogeographers-and-creatives Support the podcast:https://www.acidhorizonpodcast.com/Linktree: https://linktr.ee/acidhorizonAcid Horizon on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/acidhorizonpodcast Boycott Watkins Media: https://xenogothic.com/2025/03/17/boycott-watkins-statement/ Join The Schizoanalysis Project: https://discord.gg/4WtaXG3QxnSubscribe to us on your favorite podcast: https://pod.link/1512615438Merch: http://www.crit-drip.comSubscribe to us on your favorite podcast: https://pod.link/1512615438 LEPHT HAND: https://www.patreon.com/LEPHTHANDHappy Hour at Hippel's (Adam's blog): https://happyhourathippels.wordpress.comRevolting Bodies (Will's Blog): https://revoltingbodies.comSplit Infinities (Craig's Substack): https://splitinfinities.substack.com/Music: https://sereptie.bandcamp.com/ and https://thecominginsurrection.bandcamp.com/

It's a busy week with everyone back in the house. The gang covers the White Lotus finale, A Minecraft Movie, The Ballad of Wallis Island, Black Mirror's Common People, Drop, and Y2k. We're going to take you on a roller coaster ride this week, so buckle up! The episode kicks off with a rare full-team discussion as the gang talks White Lotus. With this being probably the most divisive season to date, it's no surprise that the gang doesn't agree across the board. There are some agreements and definitely some different takes. It's far too much to break down here, so have a watch for yourself! Keeping with things are divisive, Kevin took his kids to see A Minecraft Movie this week. Somehow, Kevin agrees with both the critics very low scores AND the audiences much higher scores. This is not what you might call a "good" movie, but it plays perfectly to it's target audience. If you have kids who play (or if you play) Minecraft, there's a lot to love here. Next up, Lauren takes the reins for a movie that none of us knew was in theaters, The Ballad of Wallis Island. It's a heartfelt comedy from across the Atlantic about a man who, after losing the love of his life, uses his wealth to bring back the main members of his wife's favorite band for a concert. It's a lot of fun and very sweet with a lot of memorable moments and probably deserves a lot more attention than it's getting. Next up, Kevin and Andrew takes things back to the dark side with the first episode of Black Mirror Season 7, Common People. Unlike the magic happening on Wallis Island, this one is decidedly bleak, in true Black Mirror form. Imagine almost losing the love of your life and the only to keep them alive is to join their consciousness to a subscription service. Now imagine how fees and "add-ons" change over time with any service you currently use and you can start to see how this might go south. It's a fantastic, though quite heartbreaking, episode and well worth the watch. To lighten the mood, sort of, Lauren takes us back to the box office with the new film Drop, starring Meghan Fahy of White Lotus fame (see how we bring it back around?). A woman is out on a first date with a dreamboat of a man, when someone beings to airdrop picture of her and begins asking her to commit a horrible act or her son will die. Because AirDrop is location specific, the villain must be close enough to her, but who could it be? It's a thriller that didn't quite land for Lauren, but has Kevin pretty interested. And now, for the moment absolutely no one should have been waiting for, Kevin and Andrew talk about the 2024 film, Y2K. I'm not going beat around the bush here... this movie was BAD. But for reasons almost unexplainable the guys watched it and discuss it. They do have a pretty good time running it through the ringer, so if you were looking for a reason to not watch this film, we have several! As always, thank you for watching. If you haven't already, don't forget to Like & Subscribe. We love new viewers! Also, leave us comments and let is know how we are doing and what we can be doing better. This week, it's a short and sweet dive into one of the most talked-about episodes from the new season of Black Mirror. Aidan explores the premiere's central question: what if our lives were run by subscription? The episode follows a couple, Mike and Amanda, as they grapple with a brain-implant tech from a company called River Mind—where tiered subscriptions literally shape their reality. Aidan draws sharp parallels to real-world services like Peacock, Amazon Prime, and dating apps, unpacking just how deeply subscription culture has embedded itself into our lives.

Here at Dig Me Out we spent the last ten years starting each new season by looking back at the albums from each year that stood the test of time, disappeared without a trace, and everything in between. We kicked off with a roundtable in 2015 and revisited the albums of 1995, so it made sense to start a new series of roundtables in 1995 as well. This time we're checking out the singles of each year, looking at the year-end Modern Rock/Alternative and Hot 100 charts in the US, as well as charts from Canada, the UK and Australia for comparison. Like with all roundtables, we enlisted the help of some special guests to revisit this interesting transitional year that saw the rise of the second generation of grunge bands like Bush and Silverchair, the continued success of 1994's pop-punk breakthroughs by Green Day and The Offspring, and the juggernaut that was Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette. But that doesn't tell the entire tale, so former A&R executive and audio tech writer James Barber and music writer Kevin Alexander join us to talk about all the hits, the near misses, and the weirdness that was 1995.
