The Mariners got a win last night, but it wasn't pretty. How many truly good teams are there in baseball right now? What should we expect from the Seahawks offense this season? We listen to new Seahawks offensive coordinator regarding the talent on the team this year, as well as Coach Holmgren's assessment, as he joined Chuck and Buck this morning. Coach weighed in on Geno Smith, Coach Grubb and Sam Howell. Where is the Seahawks offensive line right now and what will it look like when the season starts? Could we see an implosion of other conferences in the NCAA, and would that lead to the rebuilding of the Pac-12? We take a listen to what Gloria Nevarez, Mountain West Commissioner had to say about the addition of WSU and OSU football and how it relates to what we might see in the future. Plus, Stu Jackson, WCC Commissioner weighs in on adding sports outside of football. What does the window of opportunity look like for the Mariners? We dive into the numbers, and it shows us they have a few more years - barring injury - with this pitching staff. The Daily Power Play! Anne McCoy, Interim WSU AD joins Ian in studio to talk about her role now, the tumultuous time we've seen in the last year for Washington State and what she sees in the school's future, as well as her own. She acknowledges the shift in college athletics and thinks Washington State can still be the special place it has always been.
The Mariners win another series and the pitching continues to shine. Andres Munoz draws some energy from Kirby, and we hear from him. The Seahawks have four primetime games this season and Thursday nights aren't great. If you could choose a primetime game for your team to play in, which day of the week would you choose? The Seahawks have a great start to their schedule when it comes to who they'll face. They'll have to build up early wins, considering the latter half of their season. Stu Jackson, WCC Commissioner joins us to discuss Seattle U and Grand Canyon joining the conference, as well as Washington State and Oregon State playing in the conference for the time being. He outlines what needs to happen for the future media deal as well. Where is the line in the sand for Gonzaga with their future in the WCC? Stu Jackson gave us some insight and Ian looks into what it might do for the Seattle area. The Daily Power Play! We have another edition of "The Dumbest Thing You'll Hear Today", this time courtesy of Pablo Torres and Mina Kimes, who prematurely anointed Tom Brady as the next 'great analyst'. Who are the greatest analysts out there? We revisit the Seahawks schedule and what the travel looks like, plus a rundown of wins and losses predicted for this year.

October 20, 2023 - Season 14, Episode 39 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers and their upcoming Week Seven road game against the Los Angeles Rams. That conversation begins with us covering the team's Thursday injury report and the concerns about TE Pat Freiermuth, who we find out later in the show will be sidelined longer with his hamstring issue. With it certainly sounding like Dan Moore Jr. will start over rookie Broderick Jones at left tackle on Sunday against the Rams, Alex and I discuss that development and why that decision might have been made. We talk about whether it will be the right decision ultimately as well. The Steelers coordinators, Matt Canada and Teryl Austin, both spoke to the media on Thursday so as usual, Alex and I go over the main talking points from both of those press conferences. We spend extra time talking about comments Canada made concerning motion on offense used by the Miami Dolphins and other NFL teams and if the Steelers might can utilize any of that with their receivers starting on Sunday against the Rams. We talk a little bit about two key Rams' players, WR Cooper Kupp and DT Aaron Donald, ahead of Sunday's game and how both need to be handled by the Steelers. Later in this Friday show we are joined by Stu Jackson, who covers the Rams for the team's official website as a senior staff writer. We spend roughly 20 minutes with Stu previewing the Sunday game between the Steelers and the Rams. If not already doing so, please follow Stu on Twitter/X at @StuJRams and please make sure to read his work online at https://www.therams.com/. After Stu talks to us, Alex and I provide our own breakdown of the Steelers Sunday road game against the Rams. We move on to provide all of our picks against the spread for the entire slate of Week Seven NFL games and as usual, we include our final score predictions for the Steelers' game. Several other minor topics not noted are also discussed in this 94-minute episode, and we get to a several listener emails to close out the show. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Drew Timme and Julian Strawther are the most important players for a deep March run by the Gonzaga Bulldogs, but the ceiling for Mark Few's team will come down to the performance of Nolan Hickman - who has redefined his game this season and is playing the best basketball of his career.Stu Jackson is the new commissioner of the West Coast Conference, and as a SeattleU alumni we discuss if that will factor into the WCC's future plans - while also discussing Jackson's introductory press conference and how his appointment will impact Gonzaga, who doesn't seem like they are going anywhere anytime soon after more comments from Brett Yormark of the Big-12 indicated they are waiting to see what happens to the Pac-12 before making more moves. Finally, we close out the show discussing Baylor's loss to Iowa State, Marquette's narrow win over Saint John's, and the loss of Jaylen Clark for UCLA and how all of it could impact the Bulldogs on Selection Sunday.Link to new college basketball national podcast: https://linktr.ee/LockedOncbbhttps://linktr.ee/LockedOnZagsLocked on Zags - Part of the Locked on Podcast Network.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!LinkedInLinkedIn jobs helps you find the candidates you want to talk to, faster. Locked On Zags - Daily Podcast On Gonzaga Bulldogs Basketball
Drew Timme and Julian Strawther are the most important players for a deep March run by the Gonzaga Bulldogs, but the ceiling for Mark Few's team will come down to the performance of Nolan Hickman - who has redefined his game this season and is playing the best basketball of his career. Stu Jackson is the new commissioner of the West Coast Conference, and as a SeattleU alumni we discuss if that will factor into the WCC's future plans - while also discussing Jackson's introductory press conference and how his appointment will impact Gonzaga, who doesn't seem like they are going anywhere anytime soon after more comments from Brett Yormark of the Big-12 indicated they are waiting to see what happens to the Pac-12 before making more moves. Finally, we close out the show discussing Baylor's loss to Iowa State, Marquette's narrow win over Saint John's, and the loss of Jaylen Clark for UCLA and how all of it could impact the Bulldogs on Selection Sunday. This Week in the Big East - Weekly Overview of NCAA College Basketball's Top Conference
This Week In The BIG EAST Radio Show, distributed by Westwood One, continues its ninth season with guests Creighton junior center Ryan Kalkbrenner, BIG EAST Executive Associate Commissioner Stu Jackson and FOX Sports and Sporting News Analyst Mike DeCourcy. The seventh episode of TWITBE reviews the past week of BIG EAST basketball, taking a deep dive into the league's top contenders for the regular season title. As the home teams continue to dominate, the top four teams in the standings–Marquette, Xavier, Providence and Creighton–are currently 10-0 against each other on their home floors, in addition to being a perfect 30-0 combined at home in overall conference action. The BIG EAST Spotlight is on Creighton center Ryan Kalkbrenner, who entered the year along with his team with high expectations as the reigning BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year. After an early season illness threatened to derail those expectations, Kalkbrenner and the Bluejays have stormed back into the BIG EAST and national spotlight. In the thick of the BIG EAST regular season title run, Creighton is No. 18/19 in the national polls winning eight of its last nine games. The BIG EAST Focus shines on BIG EAST Executive Associate Commissioner Stu Jackson, who discusses how the race to the top of the BIG EAST standings is tighter than ever with only two weeks to go in the regular season. Also, with changes across collegiate athletics within the transfer portal and NIL taking center stage, the BIG EAST is constantly improving and evolving. Jackson takes the time to discuss these changes and the effects they have on college basketball.FOX & Sporting News Analyst Mike DeCourcy gives a view on the national perspective. With conference play rapidly coming to a close, and conference tournaments right around the corner, DeCourcy talks about the pleasant surprises across the NCAA, as well as a few teams that have disappointed based off preseason projections. The episode's “Who's Hot” segment features the return of “Blast from the Past”, rewinding the tape to 2011. A dozen years ago next week, before the new version of the BIG EAST came into being, Providence's Marshon Brooks dropped 52 points on Notre Dame. It was the most points ever scored in a BIG EAST game until Markus Howard of Marquette scored 53 points against Creighton during the 2019 season. The returning hosts for This Week In The BIG EAST (#TWITBE) are John Rooke, a longtime BIG EAST play-by-play voice, and Kevin McNamara, BIG EAST radio host, columnist and author. Rooke and McNamara give a comprehensive look at the teams, coaches, players and storied tradition of the top basketball conference in America in each episode. To join the conversation and send questions to Rooke (@JRbroadcaster) and McNamara (@KevinMcNamara33), use #TWITBE on Twitter.
