“The Two Masters System” explores the limitations of cultural relativism by arguing that, within such a framework, no culture can be deemed preferable to another, as all judgments are reduced to subjective biases rooted in personal history or sensory pleasure. The author contends that relativism fails to provide rational grounds for either approving or rejecting any culture, making it impossible to critique or elevate one way of life over another without appealing to an external, absolutist perspective. In contrast, the essay presents the alternative of an absolutist or ecclesiastical system, specifically rooted in Christian belief. Here, life is understood as living according to what God requires, distinguishing between truth and lies, value and parasitism. The author concludes that only within this absolute system—where moral and logical coherence is derived from adherence to divine truth—can one meaningfully prefer or build a particular culture over another.

Jesus says to pick the right treasure and pursue it with everything you got. It's in Matthew 6:19-24. So, the basic idea is whatever you choose to live for kind of sets the course of your life and determines which master you will serve. Honestly, there isn't much of a choice. One rots, rusts, and is stolen from you, the other rocks. You can think about it, but not sure why. Here's the problem. We get caught up in the weeds and hear a little voice in our head telling us to chose the wrong one and we get ourselves into a world of trouble. Now, understand, we are all in process. No one has it all figured out, so we all learning to live for the right treasure and take our prompts from the right master. So how do we do it?
Many of us have been taught lies that are a mixture of truth and lies, will you allow the Holy Spirit to expose any lies in your heart as you listen along?

Agnes came into my life in early 2023 and she has revealed herself as a beautifully intricate ever unfolding rose. For me personally Agnes has been a beacon of groundedness and clarity through a time in my life where change was frequent and rapid. She is kind, wise and thoughtful. A beautiful mother, partner and teacher. In this episode Agnes tells us about her early life in the French Countryside and the idyllic adventures she often took with her father to the clear shift in her life after her parents split. Agnes went on to study Archeology in both France and England earning herself not one but two Masters degrees in Archeology. She set out on an adventure with wonderful discoveries, both personally, historically and spiritually. Agnes shares generously, without ego and with a sense of self that many of us dream to one day embody. I know you will enjoy part one of Agnes story this with on Medicine Mother. Be sure to come back next week for Episode 99, the biggest part of her story, a medical finding that changed her forever. If you love this episode and wish to show Agnes some love, please take a moment to leave a review on the show and then come on over to Instagram and share your thoughts.
