On this episode of Reign we are joined by someone who knows a thing or two about sudden social media fame, Abby Roberts. Whilst still a teenager growing up in Leeds, Abby started doing makeup tutorials on social media. She went on to gain over 16 million TikTok followers and become the biggest beauty content creator in the world. Casual. But when she hit burnout in 2020, Abby returned to her first love: music. With songsPink Champagne, Imposter Syndrome and Video Girl, she has gone from doing low key shows in pubs to 20 people to supporting her friend Halsey on an arena tour across America. Casual x2. Today Abby walks us through her journey from internet fame to musician and talks powerfully about dealing with imposter syndrome, social anxiety and the bullying she has faced both in real life and online since she was a child. But Abby is a walking, talking example of never letting anything get in the way of your ambition, and making the impossible possible. And as this episode drops on Halloween, I ask Abby about being the queen of halloween looks, too and it turns out she never feels better than when she is dressed up like a skeleton. #thatkimberly #industrycelebrities #antoinneglover Want to know some tips and tricks of becoming an awesome realtor? In this episode of Industry Celebrities, Kimberly D. Scott, a former Video Girl, and now Podcast Practitioner interviews Antoinne Glover, a realtor at Rocky Peak Homes. Kimberly and Antoinne tackled three major topics in this interview that will you kickstart your career. First is the importance of quality customer service. Study shows that bad customer service interactions are more likely shared than good ones. Notice how you would always rant to your friends and family after getting badly treated at a restaurant you just visited? Well, since we humans are predominantly controlled by our emotions, the most unforgettable experiences that we share to instantly have relief, most often are those that caused us pain. That’s why when entering a service-oriented industry it is always best to be mindful and let kindness prevail at all times. Second is stop hammering yourself with all the negative comments about yourself. We're all our own worst critic but you should always remind yourself that practicing and being good at something will take some time. And lastly, allow yourself to be mentored by someone who’s an expert on the field that you want to be in. Don’t be shy! Move out of your comfort zone and continue to work on being better. Make sure to listen to the whole interview for this conversation is something you should never miss. Don’t forget to share with your family and friends too, we are all just one step away to becoming the best versions of ourselves. Kimberly D. Scott, a former Video Girl, and now Podcast Practitioner interviews Jacqueline Terrel, owner and the operator of Tudor House Cookies. Baking has been Jacquelyn’s passion since she was a child. She and her mother used to stay up late at night to bake and even on special occasions she would give away brownies. Her friends and family were the luckiest for she would bake delicious treats for them. Her love for baking paved the way for her to start a business. It all started when she decided to bake decorated cookies for her son’s first birthday. She did a lot of research and planning but ended up not liking it. She even swore that she’ll never do it again. What made her change her mind was her husband, who suggested to let her try again so that she can stay at home and take care of the kids while making some money to help their growing family. As the years go by, her business grew. She was able to get a lot of recognition from the cookie community and looking back, the one main thing she would want to tell her younger self is not to spend so much time and energy worrying about what other people think. It would be a waste of energy to keep on trying to conform to what everybody else wants. Kimberly D. Scott, a former Video Girl, and now Podcast Practitioner interviews Judy Cornish, a licensed attorney, author, and geriatric care manager who spent almost a decade working for families and people experiencing dementia on the care center she founded. Palouse Dementia Care was built to help clients live a wonderful life and help their families experience less stress. Before entering the dementia world, Judy was a psychosocial skills trainer for the mentally ill and practiced law in Portland Oregon. When she decided to semi-retire, she moved to Moscow, Idaho. On where she was renting, a neighbor came to see their landlord and stated that they planned to move their mother into a care facility for she was getting forgetful. It was heartbreaking for Judy to hear, knowing that the mother lived there for 56 years. So out of pure kindness, she offered to look after their mother. Within two weeks a lot of families called, asking if she was also able to help them with their parents and after several months she found herself working for more hours until it became fulltime. She hired people to help her cater to everyone who needed their help. She wanted to help other families begin caring for their loved ones in the same way. After seeing the inconsistency and the chaos it brings if not everyone in the inner circle of the client knows how to handle the situation, she then began developing a training program that would help families provide truly strength-based care at home. Listen to the rest of the interview for Judy shared and discussed the tools of mindlessness, the dawn method, and her insights on how to fully understand and cope when a loved one is diagnosed with dementia. She aims to let everyone gain a deeper and more meaningful connection when a loved one’s cognitive skills will begin to fade. Welcome to week 7 of The Spotlight where Sarah Mae and Aaron highlight and discuss their favorite records! The first album that we featured this week was Earl Sweatshirt's long awaited 2018 record ‘Some Rap Songs' (SRS). A record that dives into Earls mental health (“Shattered Dreams”) grieving with the death of his father (“Playing Possum”), substance abuse ("Azucar") and his relationships with people he considered his friends (“Red Water”). Earl uses a series of vignettes to execute these themes and does it in a way that catches your attention. ‘SRS' is such a mature record sonically, it has a very dark undertone and includes a lo-fi and sample heavy production, which draws many comparisons to MF Doom's ‘Madvilliany'. Overall SRS is dark record that shows Earl in his most darkest moments but also growing/learning from those moments. The second album that we featured this week was UK singer/dancer/producer FKA twigs' 2014 record “LP1." This is her debut studio album which includes production from herself and UK artists like Arca, Sampha, and Dev Hynes (Blood Orange). A record that includes very cutting edge/dense production--something that wasn't being done at the time. Lyrically she focuses on the dualism between love and lust, reality and fantasy. We see that in tracks like “Give Up” where she sings about wanting to change for the benefit of a partner, which comes off as toxic and unhealthy. We also talk about her work as a dancer and how that has influenced her music, tracks like "Video Girl" touch on her biography as a backup dancer and how she doesn't want to be known merely as the girl from music videos where she's danced in. Overall, LP1 is a record that has a very euphoric feeling to it which sucks you into FKA twigs' reality. Make sure to give these records a listen! Join us for week 8 on November 4th for the next LIVE show! Mondays at 6pm (EST) on wgmuradio.com

Lisa is a behavior specialist dedicated to helping families understand the behaviors that are associated with dementia-related illnesses and the challenges they face on a day to day basis. She entered the world of dementia 40 plus years ago when her grandmother started to display some pretty bizarre behavior.
