In this stunning work of investigative journalism, filmmaker Joel Gilbert uncovers the true story of the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, a tragedy that divided America.By examining Trayvon's 750-page cell phone records, Gilbert discovers that the key witness for the prosecution of George Zimmerman, the plus-sized 18-year-old Rachel Jeantel, was a fraud. It was in fact a different girl who was on the phone with Trayvon just before he was shot. She was the 16-year-old named "Diamond" whose recorded conversation with attorney Benjamin Crump ignited the public, swayed President Obama, and provoked the nation's media to demand Zimmerman's arrest.Gilbert's painstaking research takes him through the high schools of Miami, into the back alleys of Little Haiti, and to finally to Florida State University where he finds Trayvon's real girlfriend, the real phone witness, Diamond Eugene. Gilbert confirms his revelations with forensic handwriting analysis and DNA testing. After obtaining unredacted court documents and reading Diamond's vast social media archives, Gilbert then reconstructs the true story of Trayvon Martin's troubled teenage life and tragic death. In the process, he exposes in detail the most consequential hoax in recent American judicial history, The Trayvon Hoax, that was ground zero for the downward spiral of race relations in America. This incredible book has the potential to correct American history and bring America back together again.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-opperman-report--1198501/support.

Episode 177 Perhaps most people paying close objective attention to fatal police interactions with black citizens would roll their eyes whenever Benjamin Crump gets involved, but today we will discuss two such incidents where the officers involved may actually be wrong and Crump's involvement, while not ideal, is understandable. In May and July of 2024 respectively, Roger Fortson and Sonya Massey were killed in their interactions with the police. What were the circumstances that led to their deaths? Were the killings justified? In today's episode of the Removing Barriers Podcast, we will discuss these questions and more, never forgetting that Fortson and Massey were both souls for which Christ died. On Friday, May 3 a Florida deputy responded to a domestic violence call. Arriving at the apartment complex the deputy was met by the woman who'd made the call, who directed him to apartment 1401, in which she believed the violence to be occurring. The deputy knocked on the door, standing on either side for purposes of safety. When the door opened, the deputy was presented with a man with a gun plainly visible in his hand. The deputy immediately drew his service pistol and shot the man, killing him. That man would turn out to be Roger Fortson, a US Airman who was not, in fact, involved in a domestic violence event, and who by all accounts was doing nothing illegal at all when fatally shot by the deputy. Fueled by the usual lies of race baiter Benjamin Crump, as well as by visions of how the world might be if perfect, the internet is hysterical with outrage. Could this tragic shooting nevertheless be lawful? Is it necessarily murder? Manslaughter? Or is it simply not a crime at all under the law of self-defense?Join me for an EMOTION-LESS, LAW-BASED analysis of the police shooting of Roger Fortson. Where did the Black Lives Matter movement come from, and what does it want? In the fourth and final part of our Hands Up series we tell the story of BLM's primary ringleader…Benjamin Crump. In the late night hours of April 13, an 84-year-old homeowner living alone was awoken by someone banging on his front door. Lester prudently armed himself with a .32 caliber pistol, and opened his front door to respond to the person outside. Before him an unknown 6-foot-tall male, trespassing in violation of several no-trespassing signs, was attempting to force entry through his locked storm door--an apparent forcible home invasion. The homeowner shot at the attempted intruder twice, and the intruder fled. The homeowner then promptly called 911 to report the event. For this, the homeowner, Andrew Lester has been immediately targeted for racial arson by Benjamin Crump and others of his ilk, with a full-blown propaganda campaign raging across Twitter and news media demonizing Lester for having shot 16-year-old Ralph Yari simply for the "crime" of having rung Lester's doorbell. Within a day Lester was charged by Prosecutor Zachary Thompson with the life felony of first-degree assault, as well as 15-year felony armed criminal action. Notably, Prosecutor Thompson informed the public that "It's been my goal from the very beginning to get justice for the child involved in the case." No mention was made of any interest in justice for Andrew Lester.Join me LIVE at 1 PM ET to discuss this newest travesty of justice being promulgated by Attorney Crump against yet another vulnerable victim of the racial grievance industrial complex. #AndrewLester #RalphYarlAMERICAN LAW COURSESGet a law-school level education in typical first-year (1L) law classes, including criminal law, constitutional law, evidence, property, and more, at a fraction of the cost and time of law school, and without any of the political toxicity of today's law schools. Last night was a night of outrage. Outrage at the brutal and violent beating that we witnessed when Memphis, Tennessee, law enforcement officials released inhumane footage of the fatal police beating of Tyre Nichols, a 29-year-old Black man who died three days after a traffic stop on Jan. 7. The video shows officers using a taser on Nichols, hitting him with a baton and kicking and hitting him in the head. Some of his last words crying out for his mom. According to Wikipedia Nichols was a member of the Skateboarding community, worked for FedEx and was an aspiring photographer. Nichols was raised in Sacramento, California, and moved to Memphis, Tennessee, in 2020. According to Nichols' attorney, Benjamin Crump, Nichols was underweight due to Crohn's disease, weighing about 145 pounds at a height of 6 feet 3 inches.Officers, members of the SCORPION unit, otherwise known as the Street Crimes Operation to Restore Peace in Our Neighborhoods, pulled Nichols over in a traffic stop Jan. 7. He was hospitalized in critical condition and died Jan. 10. Federal investigators opened a civil rights investigation Jan. 18. The officers were fired Jan. 20 and charged with murder and other related crimes Thursday.Civil rights attorney Ben Crump applauded the Memphis police chief and county attorneys for quickly taking legal action against the five former officers accused of murdering Tyre Nichols."We look at how swiftly the district attorney brought charges against them in less than 20 days," Crump said in a news conference. "We want to proclaim that this is the blueprint going forward for anytime any officers, whether they be Black or white, will be held accountable. No longer can you tell us we've got to wait six months to a year."Today the SCORPION unit was permanently disbanded by the city. In today's episode we speak with Estes Park's Chief of Police David Hayes about his reactions to the released video as the law enforcement leader of our community but also, and perhaps more importantly, his reaction to the behavior captured on the released videos, as a human being. As I created the artwork illustration for today's post. I had the lyrics of Bruce Springsteen and later Rage Against the Machine's cover of ‘The Ghost of Tom Jode' haunting my thoughts. I thought they were appropriate for today's conversation. Now Tom said"Ma, whenever ya see a cop beatin' a guyWherever a hungry newborn baby criesWherever there's a fight against blood and hatred in the airLook for me, Ma, I'll be thereWherever somebody's strugglin' for a place to standFor a decent job or a helpin' handWherever somebody is strugglin' to be freeLook in their eyes, Ma, you'll see meYou'll see me This is a public episode. This month, three African-American writers/activists with widely different political views published a book together entitled "Crisis in the Classroom" (Skyhorse Publishing). Despite their many differences, the authors teamed up to insist that the civil rights issue of today is the failure to educate young Americans. The three authors are Benjamin Crump, Esq., a prominent civil rights attorney whose clients have included George Floyd and Trayvon Martin, and who is sometimes called “Black America's Attorney General”; Dr. Benjamin Carson, who rose from poverty to head pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Medical Center and later ran for President; and Armstrong Williams, an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and author of three earlier books who hosts “The Armstrong Williams Show,” which airs on Sinclair Broadcast Group TV stations across America. Williams joins Capital Research Center's Scott Walter to discuss the book and the crisis. This is part one in a two-part series. Israel is preparing for the arrival of President Joe Biden next month, but suddenly a change of plans: Prime Minister Naftali Bennett will no longer be the one to host the American leader. Instead, it'll likely be a new prime minister, the current foreign minister Yair Lapid. That's because after one year heading a diverse coalition, Bennett announced he's dissolving parliament following a series of defections from his own party. His political partner Lapid is set to take over until a new government is formed. Watching all this unfold is of course Benjamin Netanyahu, who hopes the collapse of the government means he can come back on top. Journalist and Bibi biographer Anshel Pfeffer joins the show to discuss. Also on today's show: civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump and Nadia Hallgren, director of the new Netflix documentary Civil, in which Crump is profiled; lifelong Republican Sarah Longwell, co-founder of Defending Democracy Together and executive director of the Republican Accountability Project; Dr. Eric Topol, Professor of Molecular Medicine, Scripps Research. In this stunning work of investigative journalism, filmmaker Joel Gilbert uncovers the true story of the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, a tragedy that divided America. By examining Trayvon's 750-page cell phone records, Gilbert discovers that the key witness for the prosecution of George Zimmerman, the plus-sized 18-year-old Rachel Jeantel, was a fraud. It was in fact a different girl who was on the phone with Trayvon just before he was shot. She was the 16-year-old named "Diamond" whose recorded conversation with attorney Benjamin Crump ignited the public, swayed President Obama, and provoked the nation's media to demand Zimmerman's arrest. Gilbert's painstaking research takes him through the high schools of Miami, into the back alleys of Little Haiti, and finally to Florida State University where he finds Trayvon's real girlfriend, the real phone witness, Diamond Eugene. This incredible film has the potential to correct American history and bring America back together again

Here is my latest conversation with John McWhorter. We begin with a review of our respective academic careers and how being black has affected our work. We also assess the recent involvement of Al Sharpton and Benjamin Crump in the case of a white Arkansas man who was shot dead in June, under suspicious circumstances, by a police officer during a traffic stop. We close with an extended discussion of critical race theory, which we define carefully and evaluate thoroughly. We agree that CRT should not be banned by law, but we endorse the efforts of parents to weigh-in with their local schools against it.And, in case you haven’t seen it, we are now taking questions for our next Q&A. Let us know what’s on your mind! 0:00 John McWhorter, master of his craft5:18 Is John a “black linguist”?
