Today's guest is Peter Schiff, an American stockbroker, financial commentator and radio personality. He is the CEO and chief global strategist of Euro Pacific Capital Inc. This is a conversation that I was originally a part of this year's Expat Money Summit, and I wanted to share it with you today to give you a taste of the sort of exclusive content I bring to the Summit every year. Peter Schiff is someone who I have followed for years, and I think he brought tremendous value to the Summit with this conversation. Enjoy! TODAY'S CONVERSATION WITH PETER SCHIFF Listen to Peter's take on the most recent trends in the price of gold and how it's affected by inflation and government deficit spending. Hear Peter's early 2024 election predictions and what it will mean for the U.S. and global economy. Find out why Peter fears what I have been saying all along - that when the crisis hits, the government will make it very difficult for Americans to escape. This is why I always emphasize acting now! Listen to Peter detail why failing prices, aka deflation, can lead to companies making more money, contrary to the popular opinion of many ‘mainstream' economists. If you think the headlines showing 20% inflation looks bad, wait until you hear Peter's breakdown of what sort of inflation we've really experienced in the last few years. Find out why Peter believes the banks are currently in worse shape than they were during the 2008 crisis. Will the Federal Reserve continue to attempt to fight inflation or just let the banks fail? Hear Peter break down this no-win situation. Hear Peter's thoughts on why he didn't get any mention in the film The Big Short for predicting the 2008 crisis. I had never heard him talk about this before! Find out Peter's thoughts on some important topics like CBDCs, and a potential gold-backed BRICS currency. Lastly, you won't want to miss Peter's predictions on what's to come in 2024 - and how you can best prepare. St. Peter's Healing In the Name of Jesus Christ In today's Gospel, St. Peter (and St. John) heals a man in the name of Jesus Christ. The beggar wanted coins. St. Peter does not carry coins but offers the man what he does have . . . salvation and healing through the name of Jesus Christ. The healing of the man's legs took less than a minute. This man spent a lifetime with legs that could not support him. But within a minute, the man is healed, and he has the freedom of movement he only dreamed about in his life. The change in life for the man is dramatic. But the healing also had an impact on so many others. The crowd entering the temple sees the healed man. A man the crowd walked by week after week. Suddenly, there is a change. The crowd is curious about this event. Now the disciples need to explain what happened. Note that the woundedness of the man, for so many years, has led to many people coming to faith. The man's inability to move is at the service of so many hearts that are gathered around the disciples. Peter Identifies the Source of the Healing Peter identifies the source of the healing. It is through the name of Jesus Christ, Who has been raised from the dead. The Lord shares His Victory over sin and death with His Church. By means of the touch of St. Peter's hand on the man . . . the touch of the Church . . . the touch of Jesus arrives within this man. This revealing is not just for the private benefit of the man (though that is real). It is for the benefit of a public outward sign to the crowd, whose hearts were also crippled. We also hear that there are others that are troubled by this news of the healing. The Gospel tells us about them today. Religious leaders are troubled and unable to celebrate the miraculous event of this man's life. Why? Because it doesn't meet the leaders' criteria for what is acceptable. St. Peter engages those who seek to silence the message. St. Peter's response to the leaders is remarkable and said without fear. Listen to the Homily. Listen to what Peter Says About Healing In the Name of Jesus Christ. Hear Peter's response to the leaders about healing and about the Lord, without fear. Listen to this Meditation Media.

“Increasing human freedom and economic freedom around the world is just a mission that I'm really passionate about,” says Peter Smith, Founder and CEO of Blockchain.com. That mission has remained at the heart of Blockchain since its inception in 2009. When still a graduate student at the London School of Economics, Peter became interested in the intersection of economy and technology, long before they were attached at the hip as they are now. Today, digital money is the greatest example of this intersection, and the Internet is the world's largest GDP. One major misunderstanding that persists is how long it takes to adopt new technology. Success requires being in it for the long haul, and Peter says that too many entrepreneurs want too much too soon. He shares examples of companies that have finally found major success, but only after years of struggle and even ridicule. Being a CEO comes with a great deal of responsibility, stress and fluctuation. Hear Peter discuss the best approach to dealing with it all, and why all entrepreneurs have something wrong with them. Quotes: “It's actually a common misconception that people don't know about the image of Bitcoin, which is that there was a 10-year plus period of attempts to create digital cash.” (7:24-7:40 | Peter) “It's really important to us that we build tools that enable people to hold their assets themselves, but their own key. And you know, this is our original slogan, be your own bank.” (12:56-13:05 | Peter) “One of the things I miss most about early crypto, was that it was not a business. It was a mission.” (16:19-16:25 | Peter) “When I got into crypto, it wasn't it wasn't to make money. It was like, wow, if we pull this off, really cool. We can build a financial system that lives on the internet that anyone can be part of, and I can honestly look back and say, I spent my early adult life doing that, no matter how it works out. It's like a regret minimization framework. I could spend the next five years reinventing some enterprise SAAS tool, which is probably more likely to be successful, especially in 2000, and exit a lot faster. It's really hard to exit crypto businesses. But when I look back on that life, I'm not going to be proud of that.” (19:45-20:40 | Peter) “You have to be very rooted in reality as a founder. And I think anytime you're not, anytime you're too optimistic, you're just waiting to get lucky. That's a very dangerous mode to be in. But you also have to realize as a founder that not everything is under your control.” (33:14-33:29 | Peter) Connect with Brendan Dell: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/brendandell/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/BrendanDell Instagram: @thebrendandellTikTok: @brendandell39 Buy a copy of Brendan's Book, The 12 Immutable Laws of High-Impact Messaging: https://www.indiebound.org/book/9780578210926 Connect with Peter Smith:Website: Blockchain.comTwitter: @justonemorepeterFacebook:@justonemorepeterInstagram:@justonemorepeter Please don't forget to rate, comment, and subscribe to Billion Dollar Tech on Apple, Spotify, or wherever you listen to podcasts! The words of Peter Anderson, Amey's Managing Director - Transport Infrastructure speaking about leadership on the latest Highways Voices podcast. In the latest conversation with one of our industry's leaders, Peter tells Adrian Tatum about his views on what makes a good leader, "I think the leader needs to be honest, I think the leader needs to be authentic... because that's how that leaders are better able to, to create followership. What a leader needs above all other things is a team that that follows the vision, follows the direction of travel, and feels valued and gets feedback by the leader." He describes the leadership process as giving staff the tools to do the work and make decisions themselves using a triangle with management, commercial and finance at each corner and asking themselves if what they are doing is "the right thing to do", and then backing their decision. "When you've got in your triangle, and you've come up with a collective decision, then I'll back you 100%, you make that decision, it's your call, you make it for the right reasons," he says. But then there's a warning if you don't follow the process. "If you are a lone wolf, and you make a decision entirely on your own, without consultation. If you're right, then that's fine, but you're looking, if you're wrong, and you have not consulted with your colleagues in the triangle, then we'll have a very difficult and very different conversation." Hear Peter's views on work in the communities, focussing on outcomes, and what our industry should do to lead. This is The EdUp Experience President Series Episode #58. In this episode, sponsored by MDT Marketing, we welcome Peter Cohen, President, University of Phoenix! According to Peter, the future is about microbursts of learning - which will change modalities, time frames, and degree expectations for all. Because careers will span longer than they used to, career colleges (and all colleges) need to do MORE than offer degree-based education. Hear Peter talk about how educational curriculum is the same, by and large, across the country, so it's the commitment to student service, infrastructure, and job placement that will separate institutions. UoP offers "Career Services for Life (TM)" which is their key differentiator. Career placement is one of the areas that will help regain public trust in higher education! Peter Cohen is the eighth president of the University of Phoenix. He previously served as executive vice president of McGraw-Hill Education. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Redlands. Cohen is focused on further accelerating the University-wide transformation in service of its vision to be recognized as the most trusted provider of career-relevant higher education for working adults. He brings to the University a deep understanding of the potential for technology to improve the quality of education—an understanding he has developed through a career focused on innovation in the service of students and improved learning outcomes. Some people's decisions have led them to rather challenging places, but Andy's friend and artist Peter Himmelman is truly living a dream. In this first part of a two-part interview, Andy and Peter dig deep into the past. Listen as they chat about their first meeting, the growth of Peter's career, and why his faith became significantly more important. Peter recounts the moment that he was first moved by music and how deeply it moved him. His older sister had a turntable with internal speakers and he heard all the classics. The music he heard was so impactful that it led him to make music of his own. Fast-forward to his teen years and he found himself in a band creating music and eventually living in a band house financed by his ability to create therapeutic songs for children with autism and anxiety. Peter shares his story from the time that the band first came together and what it took for him to realize what was most important in his life. His faith has helped him to see the joy and beauty in a very complicated world. Listen as they chat about his career and why his faith made such an important impact in both his life and his professional journey. They leave off on a bit of a cliffhanger as they discuss how Peter's life and career have changed during the time of Covid, for both the good and the bad. Key Talking Points: The Lack of Professionalism Some shops seem to be ill-equipped to service the jobs/brands they promote they can fix Shops need to get OE level service information to best understand how to repair the most common brands that they see in their bays How many scan tools do you need? How many ratchets do you need? Who does not know how important the right tools are required Aftermarket vs OE PC based tools each have their advantage Just one tool may not get the job done Who, inside the shop, has the responsibility to keep the OE tools up to date? Someone at the shop needs to be responsible for updates and passwords so when the tool is needed there is no downtime If the technician owns the tool then he needs to keep pace with updates so he isn’t slowed down Will shops have car line specialists or job type specialists? Networking with shops around you to buy specialty tools. They become proficient. No sharing but send the vehicle to the shop that owns the tool (sublet). Professionalism starts with self-pride. Treat us as professionals but be part of the solution to improve your own self image Your own bathroom and work areas are a reflection of your professionalism A professional look at the service counter Professionalism can be compartmentalized Your role Orderliness Should we have an organization like the lawyers that have their BAR to set requirements to work on vehicles We sometimes devalue our knowledge and service and give away our time Tests vs analysis or diagnosis Previous Technician Round Tables:

He recently sold his business to Mobile Auto Solutions and now works for MAS. Hear Peter’s interviews (https://remarkableresults.biz/?s=peter+landry) . Key Talking Points: Value of training, networking, daytime training. The shop needs to be profitable enough to pay for training and techs wages to find full benefit from daytime training. The technician needs to show his worth to the shop owner in order to warrant an investment of training. Should the investment in training be considered being put on the Balance Sheet as an Asset? Technicians that take their education serious and skills set and want to expand on them and further will make the shop money and will need to be compensated justly. Up to the front of the house to bill properly When challenges come your way, sometimes you have to back away from the problem to see it clearly. Build your network of technicians for support up to and including Facebook groups Mentoring under a Master Technician can be an advantage and disadvantage. What is a true Master Technician? They always go back to the basics. An example is basic electrical class. Always looking for a different way to look at things. Everyone in the trade must consider and keep in mind that the word fundamental does not mean easy. So, taking a fundamental class may not necessarily be easy....

Louise Bedford – Caveman Trading A losing trade OR a sabre-toothed cat? Our instincts remain the same. To attack - to be risk-taking. The golden rule of share trading is to keep your losses small and let your profits run. But our evolutionary survival makes this easy in theory but hard to follow in practice. It is our job to overcome it as traders. Hear how our caveman DNA affects your trading. Peter Brandt For Peter Brandt a really good pattern in the charts is obvious. They are few and far between. But new traders tend to replay similar mistakes. Just as Picasso or Rembrandt went through different periods in their art, new traders will often go through different stages in their charts, such as a trend line period, or head and shoulders period and it often has the effect of creating charts that resemble star wars maps. According to Peter studying a chart too hard is lacking in wisdom and prudence. If Peter doesn’t see a trade within a millisecond of looking at a chart it is time to look at a new chart. Hear Peter’s way of charting and how for real traders a good chart speaks to their inner being.

Here are talking points from the interview: Bob Heipp recently wrote an article for ABRN. Matt was recently interviewed in a roundtable format with Motor Age. Fanslow is very outspoken about technician pay, benefits and training. Not enough techs are willing to invest in themselves so why would the owner invest in them. If you have pride you will find a way to get training. There are no other industries like the automotive that doesn’t pay 100% for their people’s training. Shop owners deserve to get paid for diagnostic time that affords them the monies for training and equipment. We must value ourselves to our clients. What about mandatory technician certification? Fanslow: Torn by it. Heipp: Who will carry the stick? It would be a waste of time if there is no enforcement. He is 100% on board if it gets figured out. Tech Shortage? We have a shortage of competency. We have an abundance of incompetency. Massive problem with techs and shops is to realize they need training. Good training gives you a thought process that will transfer to other things. In 2017 Bob’s entire work team went to Vision as a group. The owner should invest in you and you should invest in you....

On this episode of Unconventional Genius, guest Peter Shankman joins me to talk about his life, success and why you want to be different. Peter has accomplished so much in his life and he’s done it all while dealing with the challenge of ADHD. During our conversation, Peter shares what drives him to be successful and what the future holds for him. Peter Shankman is an author, entrepreneur, angel investor, Ironman triathlete, skydiver and podcaster. He has sold multiple businesses for millions of dollars. He currently is an angel investor in sectors including clean energy, financial services, food, and 3D printing. Hear Peter talk about his many achievements during our conversation. How Peter Shankman is sending the elevator back down Peter says that anyone who has experienced any amount of success should “send the elevator back down.” in other words, successful people should help other people become successful. One of Peter’s main goals in life is to help people. During the podcast, Peter shares some of the ways he is leveraging his success to empower others. Being an entrepreneur himself, Peter understands that running a business can be a lonely existence. Often leaders don’t even realize they are lonely until they’ve had the opportunity to talk with other people like them. Peter exercised his desire to help other entrepreneurs by starting Shankminds, an online community for support, coaching, and encouragement. How to see a challenge as a gift One of the greatest challenges in Peter’s life is that he has ADHD. However, Peter doesn’t see this as a handicap, but rather a gift. He recently launched a podcast called Faster Than Normal which celebrates the gift of ADHD. Peter says that because of his ADHD he lacks to ability to moderate. He is an all-or-nothing kind of guy. He half-jokingly mentions that he is 3 bad decisions in a row from being a junky on the streets. In order to channel his energy and avoid doing something detrimental, he turns to physical activity. Exercising the body and mind for good Peter has run two Ironman Triathlons. He tells a harrowing story of not being able to complete a race because he overheated and his organs started to shut down. Not content with the inability to finish that race, Peter says he intends to do another full triathlon. Peter mentions several books that have impacted his life. From personal to business topics, Peter has found encouragement through the great writers who have invested in him. Peter loves to read and the way it ignites his imagination and innovation. He shares the importance of exercising the body and mind for good. Why you should want to be different So many leaders and entrepreneurs tend to operate in a silo. They get so busy working that they don’t time to step back and evaluate. Peter encourages businessmen and women to take a different approach. He encourages them to take time and talk to someone. Find a mentor who can speak into what you are doing and help you objectively evaluate. Being normal is boring. Peter Shankman says that if he could have one Super Bowl commercial to share a message with the world, he would encourage people to want to be different. Being different opens up opportunity and experiences that “normal” people may never get. Peter’s story of embracing his differences and using them to propel him to success is nothing short of inspiring. Be sure to listen to this episode to hear this encouraging conversation.
