Since the dawn of humanity, storytelling has been an integral part of our existence. Our ancestors gathered around fires, painting pictures on cave walls, and weaving tales that transcended generations. These stories were more than mere entertainment; they were vital tools for survival. They taught lessons, preserved history, and imparted wisdom. In every culture, stories have been the bedrock of community, the thread that weaves the social fabric. From the epic sagas of ancient civilizations to the folktales whispered in the dark, stories have shaped our understanding of the world. Think of your life as a grand narrative, a story where you are the hero at the center. Each day, with every thought, decision, and action, you are writing this epic tale. But have you ever stopped to ask yourself, "Am I writing a story that uplifts me, empowers me, and propels me towards my greatest potential?" What story are you telling yourself?

What Is Your Story? This is a question asked to us by a keynote speaker I recently heard Jaz Ampaw-Farr. She spoke about the 4 stories we all let affect our lives. 1) The facts 2) The story that other people tell about you 3)The story that you tell to yourself about yourself 4) The story not yet written In this episode I talk through the different stories and how much they can impact your life if you let them. I hope it helps, and if it does, feel free to share on Social Media. @megmcleanuk @shecanpod Loads of Love, Meg X

Today, on Karl and Crew Mornings, we concluded our weekly theme: "What Is Your Story?". We discussed the brevity of time and our need for Jesus. The scripture reference was Psalm 39:4-5. Is it healthy to have reminders of our time? Guest, Dr. Winfred Neely, helps us answer this question. He is Senior Pastor of Judson Baptist Church of Oak Park and Vice President of Moody Theological Seminary. We also discussed redeeming time even through trials with national speaker, author, and radio host Susie Larson. We highlighted her latest book, "Strong in the Battle: Why the Humble Will Prevail". Finally, Max Mclean joined us. He is an award-winning stage actor and Founder of Fellowship for Performing Arts. Max is performing in a special production this Saturday at College of DuPage in GlenEllyn. It's a C.S. Lewis adaption called "The Great Divorce" about heaven and hell. Aliens, Ghosts and Bigfoot Oh My! Stranger Things Happen Everyday.
People Who Have Been Abducted By Aliens, What Is Your Story?Abducted by Aliens: Believers Tell Their StoriesThe group that's assembled for this meeting is not struggling with alcohol, drugs, sex addition or gambling. They're part of Starborn, an alien experience and awareness support group, catering to those who say they've been abducted by aliens. Many people have wondered: are earthlings living on a speck of dust -- alone in the infinite universe or are there other intelligent life forms out there in the cosmos?Nearly half of all Americans and millions more globally believe we're not alone, according to a 2000 ABC poll. While 40 million Americans say they have seen or know someone who has seen an unidentified flying object, or UFO, a growing number believe they've actually met aliens.Abducted by Aliens: Twins Tell Their StoryAudrey and Debbie not only said that aliens exist, but that they've made contact with them. The twins said it started when they were young."I was probably about 5 years old or so ... and a bright blue light would come in to the room and the door would open, and there would be like, a foggy kind of misty blue light, just shining through the whole house," Audrey said. "And these two figures would come in. There would be a tall one, they had black capes, but they were bald and had big eyes."Audrey and her sister call their visitors "The Bald Men," but they're better known in UFO circles as "The Greys," a race of extraterrestrials, categorized by the grayish color of their skin. The twins' first encounter with aliens, they say, came during childhood and continued into adulthood. They also believe they've been abducted together on the same spaceship -- only to compare stories afterwards."We have been together on abductions," Audrey said. "We have been up in crafts and seen our house from above. So we realized they are not from here. They are very good at mind erasing or whatever you want to call it. They'll leave you with bits and pieces of things you can remember. So we do remember certain things of being there together."When asked why aliens would continue to abduct them together, the twins had no explanation."That's the question I always ask myself," Debbie said. "A lot of times I'll wake up in tears saying, 'Why me? Why me? Why can't this happen to somebody else.'"Extraterrestrials Can Embody People's FearsNo matter what anyone else believes, people like Audrey and Debbie are convinced that what they've witnessed is real."I remember one time being on a spaceship and standing there on the spaceship and the floor and the walls disappeared. And I was staring at the Earth," Debbie said. They said they realize their stories sound too fantastic and, at times, like the stuff of sci-fi blockbusters. In science fiction, aliens are often anthropomorphic and benign creatures, like "E.T.," "My Favorite Martian," the classic "Star Trek" television series or the hit movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind."But extraterrestrials can also embody people's fears, looking radically different from human life.Pop culture depictions of aliens don't seem to be slowing down. On cable, there's the acclaimed mini-series "Torchwood: Children of Earth," where the aliens' sinister thoughts are spoken through possessed children. And this fall, ABC will add a new series to the list of those on creatures from outer space. The members of Starborn believe, however, that this is not just the stuff of science fiction, but fact. They said that coming forward with their beliefs is challenging.'Experiencers' Come Forward With BeliefsTerrell Copeland, a former U.S. Marine, traveled the farthest to attend the "secret" meeting, driving 600 miles from rural Virginia. Copeland's foray into the paranormal began two years ago with a UFO sighting he said was captured on his cell phone from his apartment in downtown Suffolk, Va."It was an orb of light," he said. "Just a big ball of light. It wasn't moving. One was solid white. The other was directly across the street from it ... up 300 feet above ground and was changing colors very rapidly."This is ... this is not usual. Something's wrong here. Maybe I am in over my head. I'm not supposed to be looking at this stuff," Copeland, 27, who drives forklifts at a warehouse for a living, recalled thinking. But after the video of what Copeland said he witnessed in the sky was posted on YouTube, he said a strange visitor came to his front door."I woke up from the nap by the sound of someone trying to enter my apartment," he said. "And I said, 'Who is it?' There was no answer. Still just, you know, you could see the door knob moving and like a scratching at the door. And I keep a firearm. It was on my table. And my thought was to get up and check."I was in complete paralysis. The only things I could move were my eyes. And I heard a voice through the door say, 'You don't need that weapon. We won't harm.'"Soon after, Copeland said he started experiencing what he calls "missing time." During a span of two nights, Copeland said, he missed four hours -- not as a result of sleep.Spiritual Transformation"When you see these object[s], and then you do the research and you see that there are so many people who have experienced the same thing as you ... you have to say to yourself ... maybe there is something to this," he said. With the number of unexplained UFO sightings mounting, Copeland began keeping a log and sketching what he believes he witnessed during the "missing time" episodes."I was a in a room and I saw a woman who did not have complete human features," he recalled from the night he said he was abducted in 2006. "She had the typical black eyes that you hear about. She had an elongated skull. And that startled me. And the next memory I have is me standing on my balcony waving at this cylinder-shaped ship."Copeland said that his experiences with aliens have spiritually transformed him."I just want to be a better person because if I feel if someone from above took notice of me ... then maybe I'm doing something right. And if I'm doing something right, maybe I can do it better," he said.Growing Number Believe They Have Been AbductedCopeland's otherworldly convictions are shared by thousands of believers. Hundreds flocked to the national convention of the Mutual UFO Network, or MUFON, in Denver this month to share their experiences with like-minded believers.Stace Tussel, a single working mother and cum laude college graduate, has been reluctant to talk about her close encounters with extraterrestrials."I'm not necessarily fearful," she said. "I'm a bit nervous about how people may react. I do believe that I have experienced contact with non-human intelligence."Tussel said she has videos and scars to prove it."I've had multiple witness sightings or experiences, but also marks that would show up on my body -- scars like the one on my finger," Tussel said. "I did wake up one time with three red diagonal lines. I've woken up with the handprints and fingerprints that I couldn't have made myself and nobody else could have made myself."When asked if she's simply a more vivid dreamer than other people, Tussel said, "I don't know if dreaming would cause a stigmata-type effect where you're getting bodily scars or marks."Tussel, an education consultant, blogs in her spare time about UFOs and crop circles. While many have been proven to be man-made hoaxes, she believes some crop circles could be the result of an alien spacecraft or extraterrestrial communication. She doesn't care for the phrase "alien abduction," opting instead to call herself an "experiencer.""I don't believe I was taken against my will," she said. "I believe that all my life, I've been prepared to share information, to experience information and contact with non-human intelligence."Psychologists Say Media Images Re-Enacted in DreamsBut she prefers to leave the details of her experiences to the imagination."I don't want to go into too much detail on certain kinds of beings that I saw because of the graphic nature of some of the things that I saw and experienced," she said. While Tussel and others are thoroughly convinced, psychologists say the media-generated images of alien kidnappings can become easily engrained in our subconscious and then vividly re-enacted in our dreams.

What Is Your Story? What is your story? How is your life? The woman, let us call her Jane, had such a journey. In today's parlance, we will say she had been unlucky with men. She married five of them, and none of them filled the void she felt on the inside. Each one looked like it, but as soon as she got in, she realised that she had made another mistake. She had to endure many snide remarks. No one understood her, and it became embarrassing to the point she would rather go to the well when she was sure there was no one else there. She found a way to escape by avoiding the crowd and staying away from social functions. She was sure to avoid other women so as not to be accused of husband snatching. It was such a lonely road, but what could she do? Mind her business and that she did. The stories had become too many. Many of them were, of course not so accurate, but how could she clear herself knowing her reputation did not help her case at all. No wonder she chose to go to the well in the afternoon. At least she would be alone; She would not have to endure any mean look or bear the mischievous comments. She longed for peace, 'so who was this man? Look, I have had enough of men in my life. This one does not look threatening, though. He is kind and gentle;' then, he started the conversation. She did not have to entice him, no need to woo him. Besides, she was already tired of man trouble. This man, though Jew did not mind relating to her, amazing! A typical Jew would not condescend; this was turning out interesting. There was something about him. It would have come across as pride, but he had a certain authority in his tone. He seemed to have a knowing that was beyond peripheral. He was at the well wanting a drink yet promising everlasting drink. Indeed, this man should be listened to. Did he not know which well he was at? Everyone who came to the well drank and got their fill; their livestock too and a strange man was offering some other drink? He then kicked it up a notch, 'where is your hubby' he quizzed? And her reply, 'I do not have any'. 'Truth', he affirmed, he then proceeded to tell her life history. 'Clearly, this was no ordinary man. For the first time, someone understood her. Someone hit home. Someone touched the void in her. She's had husbands, hobnobbed with men, but they barely scratched the surface. This one hit, home. She was used to men, but they did not quench her thirst.' The discussion continued, and she veered into doctrinal issues: Jewish belief vs Samaritan belief. His reply to this was very informative; religion had not been able to save anyone. Not then and certainly not now. Worship is of the heart and certainly must be in truth and the spirit. Anything outside of the spirit can only lead to long journeys and eventually, death. Ask the children of Israel; they have more than a few stories to tell. We have all read Jane's story before (John 4:3-26, the woman at the well at Sychar). How will they write your story? Have you been tossed about in search of the real God? What are you even looking for – fame, money, power, husband, wife, children, position? How are you going about your search, our Jane kept trying out men. What are you trying out? Her story ended with her becoming an evangelist. An encounter with the Messiah turned her life around and answered the deep questions in her heart. Do you need such a meeting with Him? Do you need the touch only God can give? You may have been around for a while. You may even have been serving for so long, but there is a deep yearning that only God can fill. Go to the well. The Messiah is waiting. amazon.com/anneajadi anneajadinspirations.com Instagram/arnajadi Twitter/arnajadi Facebook/anneajadi Youtube/anneajadi

He has been seen on NBC, ABC, and CNN and delivered keynote speeches for distinguished companies such as DuPont, Edward Jones, Sage, Fender, and Axalta and most recently shared the stage with Jack Canfield! Louie served 20 years in the US Marines. His service included travel to 21 countries guarding American Embassies and flying Huey Helicopters. He was the Vice President of sales for Sound Enhances, a global company. Add a successful business owner in his own right, Louie has started, bought & sold companies. He started his first company at 23, and 38 years later, it is still going strong. Louie often donates his time speaking about leadership, self-confidence, and success to the less fortunate and abused. His forthcoming book is called “The Gifted Leader-How to Grow Your Business for More Profit & Freedom! “ What Is Your Story? How Did You Get to Where You Are Now? I like to start in high school, in how I was involved in so many things. In high school, I couldn't wait to get out. I couldn't wait for my life to begin. I wanted to see the world. I came from a family that really didn't have a lot of money growing up. I knew college wasn't an option. So, I enlisted in the Marines when I was still in my senior year of high school. I worked that summer and then left for the Marines in October and never looked back. I spent four and a half years on active duty. It's funny because the last guy I worked for was my boss in the Marines was an alcoholic. So, I got off of active duty, and I started as an apprentice in a body shop in Arlington Heights at the time. And it turned out, as fate would have it, that he was an alcoholic as well. I remember he had a company meeting. And I think there were 11 or 12 of us at the time. And he stood up. And now this is 1981. He stood up and said, I'd like to make $50,000 more for me this year, but I can't afford to give anybody a raise. So I stood up and said, I want my check. I'm done. A bunch of other guys were like, Are you crazy? What are you doing? I said, did you hear what he just said? He just told all of us that he expects us to work harder, and we get nothing. It's all about him. At that point, I broke out on my own, and I literally started in a one-car garage that had no heat, no running water. I started with $500 in my toolbox. That was almost 40 years ago; Sharp Auto Body is still going. I now have 10 employees, and it was funny because I never really set out to be in business for myself. I went into business because I was going to go back to school full time. I've been working full time during the day and going to college at night. And then I saw an ad in the paper, and there was an ambulance company looking to hire a body man. I called up, and I said, you don't want somebody coming into this building where all your drivers are sleeping overnight and fixing your ambulances from accidents with Bondo, dust, paint fumes, and all that stuff. I ended up contracting their work, and at that point, I decided to go into business full time and give up college. And as they say, the rest is history. In that process, I started a towing company, bought a mechanical repair shop, sold the mechanical repair shop, sold the towing company, still have the body shop, and started my speaking consulting business. So, you know, there's 40 years in there, but that's kind of how it got started. I think that I still have wanderlust. I still love to travel. For me, some people are really drained by traveling. It energizes me. I think of it as an adventure. I love to see new places, experience new things, new cultures. I've always been curious, and I think that when you're curious and afraid to try new things, you discover all kinds of things that you're good at and things that you like to do and have fun at. Tell us a little bit about how you got into the world of speaking? I went to a one day Jack Canfield event for personal development and personal growth. They were taking applications for this program called, Train the Trainer. And to be honest with you, up to this point in my life, I didn't even know that professional speaking or motivational speaking was a thing. But I went to this event, and I filled out an application. They said they were taking applications from people worldwide and would give you a call to interview you. Well, I never got a call. So I figured they didn't pick me. Then, one day, I get a phone call, and they say you've been accepted. So, I go to the program; it's a year-long program. I was selected without an interview because I was one of two veterans they took into the program because Jack Canfield wanted his work to get back to the veteran community. I ended up doing a total of 20 years in the Marines, but the rest of it was inactive. I was in the reserves. I did active duty for 14 months in Desert Storm. During this year-long training called Train the Trainer, a woman named Lisa Nichols came in and spoke to us and told us her story. And she had us laughing; she had us crying, she had us laughing, she had us crying. And at the end of the story, she said, I shared my story because I want you to know your story matters. And at that moment, it was like the sky parted. And God struck me with a bolt of lightning. And I realized at that moment that everything that had happened to me in my life, all of it, had happened for a reason. I was abused as a child, and then I did time in the Marines and started a business and all that stuff. And so when that hit me, you had to do homework. And one of the things you had to do in this training was you had to go back home because it was three weeks of live training with Jack Canfield in a room; he ended up with 86 people from literally around the world. And a majority of them, I'd say 90% of them, were already business coaches, consultants, or speakers of some sort. And here's Louis being The Body Shop guy thinking, man, I'm in the deep end of the pool without a life preserver. And so you had to do at least a half-day seminar, and you had to do a keynote speech. So, a friend of mine got like 50 business owners in a room, and I went out. It's weird because it was like I've been doing it my whole life. And to this day, I tell people, I don't get nervous; I get really excited for it to start, right. But I don't get nervous. I don't have butterflies. I don't get queasy or lightheaded or any of that stuff. I just get really excited for it to start. I've also had some experiences. I play guitar, and I've played in bands for the last 35 or 40 years as well. And I've had nights on stage when people have come up to me after a set or at the end of the night and said, Man, you were awesome tonight. You were playing out of your head. And I tell them I was because it didn't come from me, it came through me, and the music just flowed through me. So I can tell you that every time I speak, it usually takes four or five minutes, and then for me, it's the Holy Spirit. You can call it whatever you want. But it just moves through me, and I tell people that if you saw me do a keynote speech, and you wanted to interview me immediately after, and held a gun to my head and asked me to repeat it, you'd have to kill me. Because I practice really hard, I research, live what I talk about, have a PowerPoint, and prepare like everybody else, but I just let it go once it starts. What you think you “need” you may never get. Being acknowledged and validated for all the wrong that they did to you is something you certainly deserve. However, what if that never happens?!!Reliving the story in such a way that you don’t have the pain associated with the “story” any longer is evident when removing that painful layer we hold onto. Marisa's wisdom, from her own personal experience, reminds us to remove the 'woundedness' and pain as you are working on your boundaries. Find the centered place and create healthy and genuine boundaries---not from an angry place. Be prepared for what you are willing to sacrifice like walking away from a family holiday dinner if necessary.Sometimes it is necessary to take a break. SEE PEOPLE FOR WHO THEY ARE. See past what . “ I fear we have become too "intellectually sophisticated" to allow for what seems impossible and, as a result, have lost some of our ability to dream, imagine, and accept the possibility of what we can't explain or understand could be "magical." Allen Kent Our featured book, Switch, by Allen Kent is a true treasure! This story is full of mystery and will keep the reader guessing until the end. The writer does a tremendous job when creating the main characters. Not only are these characters living in different centuries, but their personalities and talents are completely different from one another. Ally is a star athlete who plays soccer and enjoys riding horses. Emme is a brilliant artist and musician. The mystery begins when they find themselves switching bodies. The readers will enjoy learning how Ally and Emme change and transform into independent leaders who fulfill their role in the mystery. During the podcast, Allen Kent explains that he wrote Switch as something of an experiment in cross-genre and cross-generational writing. Two of his granddaughters are of the ages of the characters and are interested in writing. He wanted to see how successfully he could think and write like a 16-year-old girl. He wanted to weave his travel to South Africa into the story as well. Allen Kent is a USA Today and Amazon best selling author with a number of other writing awards. WHAT IS YOUR STORY?

"A vague curling mist suddenly crept along the edges of her vision. Oh, no, not again!" Quote from Looking Through the Mist Looking Through the Mist was written by Rebbeca J. Vickery. This book is considered a mystery, an adventure, a romance, and a paranormal thriller. The main character, Jessica Wilder, has psychic abilities. She has used this gift to consult with the FBI to solve cases that involve children for the past 6 years. Bob Strickland was the first FBI agent to believe and trust in Jessica's visions. Once he retired, she began a new life working as an illustrator for children's books. While eating at a diner, she had a vision that would change everything. She had to take a leap of faith and report her vision to the local authorities. She met a detective, Johanthan Lansing, who would support her in solving a case. For once in her life, Jessica accepts her psychic visions as a gift and apart of who she is. Her visions are no longer considered a burden. The love between Johnathan and Jessica grows as they solve the case together. The author, Rebbeca J. Vickery, has a writing style that allows the readers to visualize the charisma the two main characters share. Rebbeca has stated that "The books that I write have traditional romance themes with ironic twists and usually tales in the style of Edgar Allen Poe and Alfred Hitchcock."
