    Last we left off, the Tempests were heading North towards Rokasing, the Frozen North. It's where the enemy seemed to be operating, and it's where their old friend GE-MINI had been moved to after supposedly being rescued by Brick, though she was severely damaged. The party stuck to the roads, deciding that it would be easier, if not longer, than try to cut through the forest with a giant mobile cart-home..     Their first stop would be Crossroads, a small junction town they'd passed through previously before heading North West. Unfortunately, they arrived in the early hours of nightfall and the gates were already closed. Undeterred, Kasumi decided to grab Zaan, their most 'diplomatic' party member, to see about getting the guards to open the gates for them.     Without pre-amble, Zaan leapt up onto the walls and asked if the gate could be lowered, then was immediately arrested. Kasumi was a tad bit too late to stop these events, and was turned away despite flailing around Sir Reginald's insignia and letter. The gates were to remained closed through the night on the Duchess' orders. Zaan would have to spend the night in jail.     Come the morning, the Tempests waltzed right in to Crossroads and went about freeing their companion from confinement. Zaan however, rushed out in his eagerness to be free after paying the fine and nearly scarpered off with his manacles still around his wrists.     We rejoin the Tempests now as they regroup just outside the jail in Crossroads and come to the realization that their forward scout, Bogbo, was missing.   We have merch! De Dames van ZV de Zaan hebben de landstitel in het waterpolo terugveroverd op GZC Donk uit Gouda. Na vrijdag werd er ook zaterdag gewonnen in de finales. We praten na met coach Mick van den Bree en speelster Maud Koopman.

Was het maandag nog koud; vrijdag zaten we te zweten op de redactie. Mei doet dus, net als april, wat die wil. Intussen kwamen wij om in het nieuws. Marijn Kerkhoven verdiepte zich in het bruggen-initiatief van Casper Davelaar, de VVD'er die niet alleen maar in de auto zit; hij neemt zelfs af en toe de trein. Rick Nieborg was druk met het bouwproject in Koog aan de Zaan. Bij het Troelstraplein zijn woningen van Parteon eigenlijk al helemaal klaar; alleen is er geen stroom en dat lijkt een terugkerend probleem. Nick Boeske had te doen met Roots aan de Zaan. Aan de fraaie concertreeks komt mogelijk een bruut einde als de subsidie wordt stopgezet. Maar … daar kunnen wij Zaankanters wat aan doen. Wat? Dat hoor je in deze Week van De Orkaan. Daarin hoor je ook meer over de plannen rond de Burcht-carillon. En ook daaraan kan jij je steentje bijdragen.

    Last we left off, the Tempests were moving through the West on their journey North and came across a ghost town. Perhaps a week or more prior, the denizens had left the town unguarded and unmanned, taking what they needed and left the rest behind. Undeterred, the Tempests continued on towards the pass through the mountain.     Approaching the pass, the original members of the Tempests noticed something a bit different compared to the last time they came through. Barricades, trenches, and other defensives lines had been erected. Curious about this change, Lakin took Zaan and Pez skyward to investigate. The soldiers let loose a volley of arrows towards the flying group and struck Lakin in the shoulder, which infuriated the Orc. However, Zaan was able to diffuse the situation and the leader of the soldiers was called out to handle things. Sir Reginald greeted the Tempests, recalling their last visit through the pass and quickly explained their situation. Many of his Harpermere soldiers had abandoned their post in lieu of returning to their homeland, but the Welterwatch men stayed behind to defend the pass and assure that nothing heinous came through. Magic had dwindled or faded entirely and many assaults by members of the Transcendent Maw had harried their position in the past, so seeing people flying immediately put the men on the defense. And the best defense is a good offense.     With tempers quelled and Lakin... somewhat.. subdued, we rejoin the Tempests now as Sir Reginald escorts the Tempests to the Dragonshade Camp where Zaan and Moriko could help heal the wounded men and perhaps learn more about what was happening on the continent of Drago.   We have merch!     Picking up where we last left off, the Tempests had returned to the Untamed West on their journey northward towards Rokasing after passing through Gloomwren Pass. Reaching the base of the mountain trail, Lakin Pez and Zaan flew down to inspect the suspiciously quiet Gloomwren. Not a single soul moved until Lakin called out and the large Boss called Mug emerged from one of the tents. Not all too bright and oddly friendly, Mug explained that he became the boss after sitting on the previous boss. When things started going topsy turvey, Mug sent the rest of Gloomwren back up the pass, stating that he didn't like going uphill, so he stayed behind.     Lakin, using his masterful wordplay, managed to convince Mug to travel with them. After all.. he can't be the boss if there's no one to boss around. Zaan then introduced the newer members of the party to THE JUG and thankfully things went rather well. Lakin and Mug grew taller for a time, Pez became a water elemental for a while, and Bogbo became an undead for a bit.     With playtime over, it was time to head out. Their path soon brought them further westward and nearer to the black scar cutting across the dunes. Whether coincidence, or correlation, a small group of Bulettes had been slain and eaten. Mug, looking for a snack himself, wandered up and was promptly attacked by a giant Purple Worm. Dispatching of the first rather quickly, a second emerged and tried to take a bite out of Cassie. Moriko turned into a rock elemental and dove into the dunes after the Worm to keep it from running away.     The battle won and wounds healed, we rejoin the Tempests now as they venture North towards Dragonshade Camp once more.   We have merch! In maart maakte ZV de Zaan bekend dat coach Mick van den Bree na dit seizoen zou stoppen bij de dames van het waterpolo blijkt hij nu te blijven. Maar waarom? We bellen met Mick van den Bree.

We zijn nog maar nauwelijks bekomen van ons tv-optreden. Daar hadden we ook nog helemaal geen tijd voor, want het nieuws stroomde aan alle kanten binnen. Vandaar een wat langere Week van De Orkaan. Vooral de Guisweg hield ons, en de raadsleden in Zaanstad, bezig. Verdiept spoor, tekenen bij kruisje … alles kwam voorbij in het Zaanstad Beraad. Alles kwam ook voorbij in de Zaan bij het Menebaterrein, maar dat kan nooit de bedoeling zijn geweest. Puin, piepschuim en andere rotzooi vanwege de sloopwerkzaamheden zorgen ervoor dat het een troep is in de omgeving van het stuk grond in Wormerveer. Michel Schermer vertelt er meer over. Nick Boeske legt uit hoe het zit met pandsluitingen en waarom dat soms niet zo'n heel goed idee is volgens onderzoekers. En predikant Margarithe Veen vertelt over haar cursus over doopsgezinden. Atelier in de etalageVan een atelier aan de Zaan naar een atelier in het hart van een dorp in de Achterhoek. Sarah Kobak deed dat. Met haar gezin en haar ouders streek ze in 2021 neer in het hart van Beltrum. Ze kochten een voormalige winkel, die elke Beltrummer kent. In de etalage bouwde Sarah een groot atelier waarin ze juwelen maakt en les geeft. En ondertussen leerde ze het dorp kennen en het dorp haar. Want verbinding is wat Sarah zoekt. Bij haar koop je niet zo maar een ring, maar krijgt de klant een sieraad met zijn of haar verhaal erin verwerkt. Dat kan zelfs met het goud uit een erfenis. Dat smelt ze om en voorziet het van haar eigen signatuur: gekleurde edelstenen, parels en granules, kleine bolletjes goud. En dan heb je een echte Kobak. Hester Wandel reist af naar Beltrum om het atelier te zien en te praten over Juwelen aan de IJssel, waaraan Sarah meedoet op 16 en 17 mei.     Picking up where we last left off, the Tempests are deep within the Orc Lands. With their promise to Lakin kept, and a new task given to them by Ceto, they had many things to plan for. After plotting their course, they tasked Cassie with heading North West towards the Gloomwren pass that would allow them egress into the desert where their adventure first began. With Lakin now amongst the living, Zaan wanted to introduce the re-born Orc to Fern's cafe, only to find the passageway through the pantry collapsed.     Trying and failing to not panic, Zaan desperately reached out to his booty call and see what was going on. According to the Tabaxi Lieutenant, things were bad in Harpermere. The King and Queen were dead and things were in turmoil. Only after Pez questioned why Zaan thought to check on Yvonne and not Fern, did he realize that he was a dumbass and contacted one of their closest friends. Fern claimed to be okay, but there was much going on and little time to converse past the one spell.     Pez then took a moment to use the book of sending to contact his Sister in the West. Though she was reportedly safe, she expressed concerns with the world's current state as well. A behemoth of a beast was reportedly roaming around the desert, laying waste to anything and everything around the main railway.     To take their minds off of things for a while, and also to try out his new gifts, Lakin challenged Zaan to a friendly duel that got a bit more heated than Lakin was expecting and quickly put the rabbit in his place.     Later the next day, the Tempests came upon a bridge that would allow them to cross the river that splits the region down the middle... guarded by a single goblin. They spent little time in wording their way around the goblin's senses and convinced him that he was far superior than the rest of his clan and sent him on his way. Crossing the bridge with ease, Pez and Lakin took a moment to destroy the bridge to further hinder the orc clans and continued North again.     We rejoin them now at the 'dawn' of a new day amidst a torrential downpour as they attempt to find their way towards Gloomwren pass.   We have merch!      Last we left off, the Tempests were deep in orcish lands, their target: The Bloodmoon Clan. But an outright assault wasn't the plan. First, they would take out the chief known as Ta Bloodrage. Approaching the encampment from the water, the Tempests snuck in close, then gave the signal to Bogbo to begin his distraction. And what a distraction it was! The little goblin unleashed the air elemental lent to him to lay waste to the outskirts of the clan's base.     The ruckus drew the attention of the rest of the Bloodmoon clan, include Ta, which drew the chief out of her abode and into the open. The Tempests wasted little time in assaulting the orc chieftess. She was not so easily killed however, and appeared to be quite powerful, creating duplicates of herself around the village and slipping through the fingers of the Tempests at every turn... Until Ta Bloodrage cried out in frustration and dropped her facade. The image of a ritualistic female orc dropped, revealing the visage of The Speaker as he summoned more of his wordlings to surround Zaan. So focused was he on Zaan however, he didn't notice Moriko coming up behind him in her water elemental form and WHELMED HIM. With no way to speak, the Speaker was trapped within the elemental and was an easy target for Pez's fireball spell which ended the Speaker in a boiling tomb.     As the rest of the Tempests gathered to discuss their next steps, Lakin took off to assist Bogbo in finishing off the rest of the Bloodmoon Clan. With the remaining Bloodmoons scattered and fleeing, the party considered the job complete and headed back to their wagon, Cassie. Along the way, Lakin felt an urgent pull that had him straying towards the water. Urging his fellows to go back to the wagon, Lakin took off for the water's edge and found Ceto there waiting for him in her colossal form. The sea goddess brought mostly bad tidings for Lakin.. The world was in turmoil. Many of her brethren deities were missing, or in the case of Coyote, in hiding, after being attacked by Saedhir's minions. In light of all that had occurred, Ceto considered her bargain with Lakin complete in the hopes that her champion would be able to turn his rage towards Saedhir and his followers instead. Ceto then granted Lakin's desire and returned his life to him. No longer an undead orc, Lakin took his time returning to the wagon to meet his very surprised party members.     We rejoin them now as they travel through the night to the north, Lakin laying nekkid on the roof and sleeping for the first time in centuries.   We have merch!     Picking up where we last left off, things in the world of Archeron are getting worse. After thoroughly defeating the Bloodmoon Clan patrol, Lakin yoinked a soul and a body from the slain which allowed him to do a little spiritual reconnaissance and quite possibly invent a new war crime. It's not a war crime the first time however, and Lakin diligently started to stitch the goblin corpse back together after firing it out of a cannon at a nearby tree. The Tempests began moving South once more, heading deeper into Bloodmoon territory and began discussing their tactics for assaulting the encampment. During the discussion, talks arose once more about the dwindling magic capabilities of the locals, and Zaan asked Lakin to commune with Cadall so the harengon could ask a few questions. The connection made, the speaker was not who Zaan expected. What seemed to be Saedhir spoke back in monosyllabic desire and hunger. Thoroughly freaked out, the spell ended with Lakin experiencing hunger for the first time in centuries and proceeded to try and eat Zaan's meat stores while still incorporeal.     With more questions than answers, the Tempests continued south to finish the job they were certain they could handle at the moment. Choosing to take the stealthier route to remove the head of the clan, Ta Bloodrage, rather than assaulting the camp head on. Because as Bogbo claimed, "Take out the leaders and the little ones scatter."     We rejoin them now with about half a day's journey left until they reach the Bloodmoon Clan's camp.   We have merch!     Picking up where we last left off, the Tempests are heading Westward to try and return to the continent of Drago where Pez's friend Hambjerger has been supposedly reincarnated, and also the end goal of Lakin's task given to him by Ceto. But the journey so far has been laden with obstacles. First a blue dragon attacked their airship, and now the port of Ariminum is under lockdown due to said dragon attack. The city was still a bit twitchy after the last blue dragon sighting, and they were none-too-eager to further anger the sea goddess. With nothing else to do until nightfall where Lakin could speak with Ceto himself, the Tempests found themselves an Inn and explored the Romanan capitol for the day. Somewhere, somehow, along the way, Kasumi stumbled upon the local Thieves Guild hidden within an apothecary wherein they met the **Velvet Dagger**, the leader of the Golden Hand Thieves Guild. The Velvet Hand was quite irate with the situation as it was hindering business. However, being such a fresh development, there was little that any of them could do. As night fell, Lakin communed with Ceto to see if the goddess was actually upset with the city..     She was not! And she informed Lakin that the High Priest that had locked down the city using her name, was not one of her priests.      We rejoin them now as Lakin emerges from the ocean with a new target in his sights and then chucks Zaan into the ocean.   A huge shoutout to Nick Black who made our intro jingle. Na het winnen van de Euro Cup met ZV de Zaan, vertrok keepster en Oranje international Britt van den Dobbelsteen naar Griekenland. Olympiakos uit de belangrijke havenstad Piraeus sloeg toe en daarmee was ze al gelijk succesvol. Begin oktober pakte ze de Super Cup tegen regerend landskampioen Vouliagmeni en collega internationals Kitty Lynn Joustra en Lola Moolhuijzen. Daarnaast gaat het in de competitie ook goed, want na zeven duels staat de ploeg ongeslagen bovenaan. Meindert Moos is misschien wel de bekendste fietsenhandelaar in Koog aan de Zaan. Intussen is hij gestopt met zijn winkel, maar dat wil niet zeggen dat hij niks meer met fietsen en brommers te maken wil hebben. Sterker nog; hij is heel actief en heeft zelfs een boek uitgebracht over zijn winkel, maar ook over zichzelf. Meindert is een Gazelleliefhebber, net als onze eigen Piet Bakker. Het is dan ook vanzelfsprekend dat hij namens De Orkaan met Meindert praat over fietsen…

    Last we left off, the Tempests were heading towards the Tusoto Pass so that Kasumi could reunite with her parental figure, Barnabas Che. This was after receiving a vision from her deity that gave her a choice between heading to her home, or investigating a fox motif door in Chunsu; both would supposedly lead to family. Arriving at the Tusoto Pass, they found the homestead empty for what seemed to be at least a few weeks if not a few months. Following the trail, the Tempests came upon a palace nestled deep in the woods to the South of Kasumi's home, a place called The Mirrored Court. The party was greeted by a half-orc butler named Ganshiro who led them directly to the Lady of the Pass. Standing beside the lady was Barnabas himself who seemed to have no recognition in his eyes upon seeing Kasumi. The Lady proceeded to trick Zaan out of owning his own name, leading the group to discover that the Lady was not all that she seemed. Assumed to be fey at the least, arch fey at the worst, Lakin attempted to attack the Lady, shattering the illusion that she was in the room with them. The Tempests were now lost in a maze of rooms with doors that seem to move them around randomly throughout the Palace. We zijn helemaal klaar met juli en gaan in volle vaart door met augustus. Maar eerst nog even luisteren wat er in Zaanstad gebeurde in de laatste week van juli, want er was weer veel gedoe. Allereerst het vaarvignet. Zaanstad wil dat mensen met een bootje zo'n vignet à € 152 kopen om over de Zaan te varen. Alleen: mag dat, want van wie is de Zaan nu eigenlijk. Jelmer de Vries dook in de kwestie. Nog meer gedoe rond betaald parkeren. Zo hield Zaanstad een draagvlakmeting of mensen in de Boerenjonkerbuurt daar voor openstaan, maar de vraagstelling was volgens politieke partijen niet helemaal in orde. En in de Muziekbuurt kregen mensen een brief van de gemeente over hun vrije uitrit. Ook daar zaten haken en ogen aan vinden bezorgde bewoners. Jelmer en Nick Boeske leggen uit wat er allemaal aan de hand is. Alarmerende berichten over zwerfafval. De Partij voor de Dieren maakt zich grote zorgen om het aantal vogels dat overlijdt omdat ze allerlei dingen tussen het zwerfvuil opeten waardoor ze doodgaan. Tamara Meerhoff vertelt dat we als Zaankanters veel bewuster met ons afval om moeten springen. Tekenen op de Fronikboerderij, de ZaansePas en het 112-nieuws maken deze Week van De Orkaan compleet.

Picking up where we last left off, the Tempests were deep underground below Takatari to deal with a literal blight upon the land. A massive wormlike creature had been burrowing through the land, spreading its pestilence and disease to every corner of the Empire. Having rescued some hapless villagers, the Tempests bravely went back into the depths to rid the world of this creature and its spawn once and for all. First on their list, was to destroy the creature's nests; a task that proved to be a bit more difficult than they originally thought. A peculiar item was recovered from within the skull of one of the creatures that had been growing in the nest, and it seemed to point the party in the correct direction: a Duergar city located within an expansive cavern. Making their way deeper into the city, the party was ambushed, but managed to fight off the creatures, only to have their progenitor erupt from the ground and begin searching for the Tempests. The party found a cellar that they could recuperate in and plan their next moves. Coming up with a plan, the Tempests lured the gargantuan beast into the open and eventually slayed it. But the Scourge wouldn't go down quietly. As the final blow was struck by Zaan's blade, the beast exploded, leveling many of the surrounding buildings and splashing nearly everything with it's ichor. There was no time to sit and take stock as the city itself began to collapse upon the death of the Scourge. The very substance covering everything in sight began to wilt away, what was once holding up the crumbled buildings now sloughing off. Ja, het was warm deze week, maar er gebeurde genoeg om een lekkere Week van De Orkaan mee te vullen. Er was vooral veel cultuurnieuws. Want de gemeenteraad boog zich over het visie-traject Centrum voor de Kunsten, maar eigenlijk ging dat over de langlopende ruzie tussen FluXus en de Stichting Muziekschool Zaanstreek. Jelmer praat je bij. En dan had wethouder Wessel Breunesse nog een verrassing. Er zijn plannen voor een heus poppodium op de Dam. ROSA was daar erg verrast over, bleek in het Zaanstad Beraad. De komende tijd moeten we het zonder streekdichter Frans Reichardt doen. Hij gaat aan de wandel in Frankrijk en Spanje om geld op te halen voor een goed doel. Last we left off, the Tempests headed deep underground to remove what they assumed was the source of the blight afflicting the Takatari Empire: a colossal worm-like creature that had been digging its way into every corner of the continent. They had already succeeded in eliminating one of its nests where twisted beings were incubating. Snuffing the life from these creatures, the Tempests went to rest in a nearby ruined outpost where they had a horde of undead Duergar sent after them. Successfully repelling the attack, the party investigated the second nest and found it barren save for one malformed corpse. Within the corpse's skull was a crystallized bit of brain matter that seemed capable of tracking these creatures, and Zaan, further cementing the reality that the rabbit man was related to these creatures in some way. Moriko took the crystal and used it to help them navigate towards more of the creatures, which eventually led them to the underground Duergar city. Moving through the corrupted, flesh covered streets, the party was ambushed by more fully formed aberrations of the sort they'd killed within the nest. With a few close calls, the creatures were dealt with, only to have their progenitor finally emerge from within the earth. Picking up where we last left off, the Tempests had delved deep into the earth to rescue some survivors of a sinkhole collapse. While they were down there, they learned of a Duergar city that had supposedly been destroyed by a large underground worm-like creature. This same creature, the survivors claimed, was likely the source of the blight on the surface. The survivors also informed the Tempests of a pair of nests nearby that should be destroyed post haste. Agreeing with that the nests needed to be purged, the Tempests returned underground after escorting the survivors back to civilization to handle business. The first nest was destroyed after a prolonged battle of a whopping 20seconds that felt like 3 hours. The Tempests chose to return to the ruined outpost to rest and heal their wounds, only to be woken up in the middle of the night at the urging of Moriko and Lakin, who spotted an unknown creature standing at the edge of the cavern. The creature supposedly sent a large wave of Duergar undead to attack them. With a little bit of fire and a whole lot of exploding bones, the horde was dealt with and the Tempests were allowed to rest. Upon investigating the second nest in the morning, they found it to be empty, or rather, dead. The flesh-like substance grey and flaking off the walls. One corpse remained, and a crystalized bit of brain matter was found within. After a short time of studying it, they discovered that it seemed to be able to locate the creatures they'd fought in the nest... and Zaan... We rejoin the tempests now as Moriko leads the party to a bridge that leads into the large underground Duergar city... Last time of the Tales of Archeron, the Tempests had delved deep underground to rescue some locals who had fallen into a sinkhole at the harbor's edge. Speaking with the survivors, they learned that something massive was moving through the underground and was likely the cause of the blight afflicting the surface. They also learned of a pair of nests nearby that they had barricaded to keep themselves safe. Resolving to rescue the people first and then return to handle the nests, Moriko turned into a giant spider taxi and got everyone to safety. Kasumi then stubbornly insisted on tracking down Tanaka and informing their Parole Officer of their whereabouts, much to the irritation of Lakin who deemed it more prudent to handle the threat sooner rather than later. Reaching an impasse, the party split when tempers rose: Lakin and Zaan heading for the sinkhole back below, and Kasumi searching for Tanaka with Pez and Moriko. The Tempests eventually got back together and delved back underground to take care of the nests. Er werd de afgelopen week flink gedemonstreerd in Zaanstad. De Orkaan keek mee bij het Zaantheater en het hoofdkantoor van Ahold Delhaize. Maar er was meer. Want Krommenie is in rep en roer vanwege de fatbike-knokploeg. Ook de politiek gaat zich er tegenaan bemoeien. Fractieleider Julie van 't Veer van het CDA legt uit waarom ze raadsvragen heeft gesteld. Wethouder Slegers zegt sorry vanwege de vergunningloze bouwkeet bij de Zaanse Schans. Maar het grootste nieuws was toch wel de bekendmaking van de nieuwe finishplek van de Dam tot Damloop. Gekozen is voor De Burcht, of de Zaan, zoals de organisatie het zo mooi noemt. Event manager Tom Limmen legt uit waarom er voor De Burcht is gekozen. Marijn was dus bij de demonstratie van diverse groeperingen bij de aandeelhoudersvergadering van Ahold Delhaize. Hij sprak met een hamster en kreeg ruzie met een boze mevrouw. Kenneth had zich verheugd op een mooie kampioenswedstrijd van ZCFC G1. Het liep helaas anders. Natuurlijk staan we ook nog even stil bij de waterpolovrouwen van ZV De Zaan die op magistrale wijze de Euro Cup wonnen. Michel had het druk met twee branden en een botsende politieauto. En zo werd De Week een echte Week van De Orkaan.

Zaterdag werd dan die historische return van de finale van de LEN Women's Euro Cup gespeeld in het Sloterparkbad. De waterpolosters van ZV De Zaan versloegen Pallanuoto Trieste al in het heenduel in Italië met 10-9 en ook in de return werden de Italianen verslagen, dit keer met 14-7. Daarmee is het voor het eerst in het 25-jarig bestaan van het tweede Europese bekertoernooi dat een Nederlandse club de prijs pakt en voor het eerst sinds 1996 dat de waterpolosters een Europese prijs pakken. Interview met waterpolo-opa Dick van den Dobbelsteen. Dick houdt van het waterpolo en zal zaterdagavond zijn kleindochter Britt aanmoedigen die met ZV de Zaan de Euro Cup finale speelt.

Picking up where we left off last time, the Tempests were helping to cure a rampant sickness that had befallen upon a coastal town along the Kudong Harbor in Takatari. Upon arriving, they encountered a small elven child named Tamami who bore a striking resemblance to Moriko. Tamami's parents were bedridden with the plague sweeping the area and not in proper states of mind to answer the probing questions from the Tempests. Tamami's older brother Haru had gone out to fish and not returned. Fearing the worst, Moriko consulted her ancestral deity Aerin who warned of an approaching disaster. A massive sinkhole opened up below a neighboring village, swallowing multiple homes, ships, and several hapless residents. Diving down, the Tempests rescued as many as they were able, though many were still missing. Assuming the worst for Haru, the Tempests returned to the sink hole to go as far in as they could in search of the missing elf and found themselves navigating an expansive system of tunnels carved into the rock. Using Pez's superb ranger senses, he guided them to the sound of flowing water and came across a pair of corpses next to an underground stream. The corpse warned of beasts in the dark that had attacked them. Zaan immediately cast light on a rock and chucked it into the water, inevitably triggering a short skirmish with some insectoid creatures that lurked in the dark waterway.   A huge shoutout to Nick Black who made our intro jingle. Komende zaterdag gaan we waterpolo van het allerhoogste niveau zien in het Sloterparkbad in Amsterdam. De vrouwen van ZV De Zaan spelen namelijk de alles beslissende return in de finale van de LEN Women's Euro Cup tegen Pallanuoto Trieste. De heenwedstrijd in Italië werd met 10-9 gewonnen en dus is de kans zeer aanwezig dat de vrouwen in onze hoofdstad voor het eerst sinds 1996 een Europese prijs gaan pakken. Eindelijk is het zover. De waterpolodames van ZV de Zaan spelen zaterdagavond in Italië hun eerste finalewedstrijd in de Euro Cup. In Triëst gaat de ploeg voor een goede uitgangspositie in de tweede wedstrijd tegen Triëst, op zaterdag 5 april. In de podcast de Warming up hoor je elke week een interview met een Zaanse sporter of coach. Met Edwin Kleiss bespreken ze een wedstrijd van het aanstaande weekend. Deze week is dat Mick van den Bree, de coach van de dames van ZV de Zaan.

De waterpolodames van ZV de Zaan hebben de finale van de Euro Cup bereikt. Na afloop van de halve finale tegen Glyfada uit Griekenland wilde onze stagiair Jens Huis alles weten van aanvoerder Lieke Rogge en Keeper Britt van den Dobbelsteen.

Ooit wordt het weer lekker fietsweer, en dan is het fijn als iedereen veilig gebruik kan maken van de fietspaden in onze Zaanstreek. Daar gaat het deze keer ook over in deze verse Week van De Orkaan. Di-Lan praat namelijk met Leo van Klink van AV Lycurgus over zijn cursus Wegkapitein. Eigenlijk een must voor iedereen die zich in groepsverband op een fietspad wil begeven. Renée was bij de herdenking van bankier van het verzet Walraven van Hall en laat een emotioneel verhaal horen van de kleindochter van de verzetsman. De Bibby Progress, een van de pontons aan de Gerrit Bolkade, is aangesloten op walstroom. Het COA kan nu asielzoekers opvangen op deze Bibby. Tijdens de Zaanse sportverkiezingen werd roeier Bente Rogge uitgeroepen tot sportvrouw van het jaar. Haar waterpoloteam, ZV de Zaan dames 1, werd sportploeg van het jaar.

Picking up where we last left off, the Tempests ventured deep into Yutsushige forest in search of a cure-all moss that supposedly grew on the roots of a "Weeping Sequoia". After a short skirmish with a group of Trolls, the party proceeded with a little more caution. Soon, the light in the forest dimmed, the canopy blocking the sunlight until it was almost complete darkness between the trunks of the trees. Thankfully, Moriko has a firm grasp on directions and kept them on track. Or so they thought. Passing by a series of carvings in the trunks of the Sequoias, they passed by similar reliefs, leading them to believe they were going in circles despite Moriko's supreme sense of direction. Beginning to hear and see things deep in the forest, the Tempests decided to rest for the evening and start strong the next dawn. At the end of the final watch, Lakin and Pez realized the Kasumi and Moriko were nowhere to be seen. When trying to locate Zaan, they saw him being carried away by a large hand. De prijzen van koopwoningen gaan de komende twee jaar met meer dan zes procent stijgen, voorspelt de Rabobank vandaag. Een behoorlijk en geschikt huis vinden, binnen het budget, is voor veel woningzoekenden erg lastig. En hoe aantrekkelijk is dan dat koopje, dat leuke huis voor die betaalbare prijs, waar nog wel … alles nog aan moet gebeuren: het klushuis. Ook bouwmaterialen zijn de afgelopen twee jaar veel duurder geworden en aannemers blijken de hoofdprijs te vragen. Maar dat verbouwen, dat denken veel mensen ook zelf te kunnen. Social media staan vol met enthousiaste zelfklussers.   Fleur van der Geer kocht onlangs een opknaphuis en zit nu tussen het puin in Koog aan de Zaan. Eén muurtje slopen kostte d'r afgelopen weekend 8 uur en de offerte van de aannemer die ze onlangs ontving bleek toch even slikken te zijn. In de podcast vertelt ze hoe haar verbouwing verloopt. Bijvoorbeeld die van de fabrieken langs de Zaan voor zetmeel, biscuit en chocolade, die je steeds minder ruikt vanwege strengere regelgeving. Een groep Zaankanters wil nu een plaatselijk geurenmuseum oprichten, zodat hun jeugdherinneringen niet vervliegen.
