Picking up where we last left off, the Tempests had delved deep into the earth to rescue some survivors of a sinkhole collapse. While they were down there, they learned of a Duergar city that had supposedly been destroyed by a large underground worm-like creature. This same creature, the survivors claimed, was likely the source of the blight on the surface. The survivors also informed the Tempests of a pair of nests nearby that should be destroyed post haste. Agreeing with that the nests needed to be purged, the Tempests returned underground after escorting the survivors back to civilization to handle business. The first nest was destroyed after a prolonged battle of a whopping 20seconds that felt like 3 hours. The Tempests chose to return to the ruined outpost to rest and heal their wounds, only to be woken up in the middle of the night at the urging of Moriko and Lakin, who spotted an unknown creature standing at the edge of the cavern. The creature supposedly sent a large wave of Duergar undead to attack them. With a little bit of fire and a whole lot of exploding bones, the horde was dealt with and the Tempests were allowed to rest. Upon investigating the second nest in the morning, they found it to be empty, or rather, dead. The flesh-like substance grey and flaking off the walls. One corpse remained, and a crystalized bit of brain matter was found within. After a short time of studying it, they discovered that it seemed to be able to locate the creatures they'd fought in the nest... and Zaan... We rejoin the tempests now as Moriko leads the party to a bridge that leads into the large underground Duergar city... The name of which has not been learned yet. Last we left off, the Tempests had gone back down into the deep dark down deep down to try their hand at a little exterminatus. Having rescued some villagers who'd fallen into a massive sink hole, they learned that some bad shit was going down beneath the surface of Takatari. A large 'something' was moving around, leaving death and decay in its wake as it bored out massive tunnels of rock. This thing had supposedly laid waste to an entire underground city of Duergar and had established two separate nests where its foul spawn were being cooked. The Tempests thought that that just wouldn't do and bravely strode into the humid, flesh covered nest to start popping cocoons and killing bebes. It was a hard fought battle, but eventually the nest was cleared and the Tempests returned to the nearby ruins of an outpost to rest for the evening and decide what to do about the second nest when clearer minds and healthier bodies were able to formulate a plan. We rejoin them now as Kasumi finishes helping Lakin reattach his hand and the first watch of the night is taken. A huge shoutout to Nick Black who made our intro jingle. Last time of the Tales of Archeron, the Tempests had delved deep underground to rescue some locals who had fallen into a sinkhole at the harbor's edge. Speaking with the survivors, they learned that something massive was moving through the underground and was likely the cause of the blight afflicting the surface. They also learned of a pair of nests nearby that they had barricaded to keep themselves safe. Resolving to rescue the people first and then return to handle the nests, Moriko turned into a giant spider taxi and got everyone to safety. Kasumi then stubbornly insisted on tracking down Tanaka and informing their Parole Officer of their whereabouts, much to the irritation of Lakin who deemed it more prudent to handle the threat sooner rather than later. Reaching an impasse, the party split when tempers rose: Lakin and Zaan heading for the sinkhole back below, and Kasumi searching for Tanaka with Pez and Moriko. The Tempests eventually got back together and delved back underground to take care of the nests. We rejoin them now as they creep further into the humid, musty nest, and blasted open a large pustule that deposited a creature of some kind. A huge shoutout to Nick Black who made our intro jingle. Last we left off on the Tales of Archeron, the Tempests launched a rescue mission to save some locals that had been consumed by a massive sinkhole. Going deep into the earth beneath the Kudong Harbor, they traversed through winding tunnels that looped back on themselves, fought off vicious creatures that lurked in pitch black waterways, and eventually found nearly twenty survivors from the surface; One of them being Haru, the older brother of Tamami, an elf girl whom the Tempests had befriended earlier. Learning as much as they could from what the survivors had experienced, there was a massive worm-like beast digging these tunnels with its offspring able to dissolve flesh and armor. After a bit of back-and-forth, the Tempests decided that rescuing the survivors came before the murder. Moriko wild shaped into a large spider that was able to crawl up and out through one of the many sinkholes to reach the surface. Acting like a creepy, hairy taxi to get everyone out. Last we left off, the Tempests had delved deep into the ground beneath the Kudong Harbor in Takatari in search of lost locals who had been consumed by a massive sink hole. One of these missing locals is Haru, the older brother of Tamami, a young elven girl they befriended. Through completely submerged tunnels, winding pathways, and large insectoid creatures that lurk in the dark, the Tempests searched for more survivors but have found only death so far. The party got a little turned around trying to navigate the twisting tunnels and ended up where they began. Kasumi started leaving marks to keep them from doubling back on themselves again and soon, they discovered a pathway laid with cobble stones.. Something clearly made by intelligent hands... After coming across what appeared to be a mushroom farm, the party decided to take a short rest to recoup and treat their wounds. Lakin took the opportunity to explore a bit further and came across an outpost of some kind.. The faintest flickering light can be seen on the other side of the small tower. Picking up where we left off last time, the Tempests were helping to cure a rampant sickness that had befallen upon a coastal town along the Kudong Harbor in Takatari. Upon arriving, they encountered a small elven child named Tamami who bore a striking resemblance to Moriko. Tamami's parents were bedridden with the plague sweeping the area and not in proper states of mind to answer the probing questions from the Tempests. Tamami's older brother Haru had gone out to fish and not returned. Fearing the worst, Moriko consulted her ancestral deity Aerin who warned of an approaching disaster. A massive sinkhole opened up below a neighboring village, swallowing multiple homes, ships, and several hapless residents. Diving down, the Tempests rescued as many as they were able, though many were still missing. Assuming the worst for Haru, the Tempests returned to the sink hole to go as far in as they could in search of the missing elf and found themselves navigating an expansive system of tunnels carved into the rock. Using Pez's superb ranger senses, he guided them to the sound of flowing water and came across a pair of corpses next to an underground stream. The corpse warned of beasts in the dark that had attacked them. Zaan immediately cast light on a rock and chucked it into the water, inevitably triggering a short skirmish with some insectoid creatures that lurked in the dark waterway. Last we left off, the Tempests were nearing the end of their quest to deliver healing moss to a blighted town along the coast of Kudong Harbor in Takatari. Along the way they picked up a new ally, Lakin, who had promised to aid in their journey if they would return the favor in the near future. As they help distribute the healing brew made from the Yutsushige moss, they encountered a family of elves with a child that bore a striking resemblance to one of their own, the orphaned Moriko. With many questions being asked, and receiving only partial answers from the sick and somewhat delirious father of the household, the Tempests busied themselves with distributing the cure to the rest of the village. The son of the Ito's, Haru, had supposedly gone out to fish earlier that morning and as dusk settled in, he had not yet returned. Tamami, the young daughter, said that this was not terribly unusual, as her brother sometimes took a rest out on the water and would drift to nearby towns along the currents. Moriko however was a bit ill at ease and made the tough choice to meditate towards her ancestral deity, Aerin. The elven god spoke clearly to Moriko and warned of impending danger, though remained somewhat cryptic as to who or why. Fearing the worst, Moriko convinced the others with minimal effort to help her try and find Haru, the only one currently unaccounted for. The tempests then broke the cardinal rule and split the party, eventually leaving Kasumi alone to have a lovely cup of tea with Tamami, while the rest of the Tempests battled fires and dove headlong into a gaping sink hole that had swallowed part of the neighboring coastline to rescue survivors. Last time of the Tales of Archeron, the Tempests had successfully retrieved some moss that supposedly had incredible restorative and healing properties from the Yutsushige Forest after proving their worth to a trio of treants. Their next step was to bring the moss to a village along the coast of Kudong Harbor where an entire stretch was plagued by a savage illness. When they found their way to the Calm Water Piers, Lakin confronted a small child that had been shadowing them through some side alley ways. A young elven girl by the name of Ito Tamami. Somehow the large Orc Warlock convinced the girl that he was no threat and offered to guide her home. Lakin sent up a signal in the form of a magic icicle and shortly after, Moriko arrived to help in what she thought was a fight, only to find Lakin with a child... in a dark alleyway.. Nothing suspicious here. Tamami was sent on her way with Lakin and Moriko returning to the cart, though unknowingly without Fluff, Moriko's companion MothKat. - With the help of Kasumi, Moriko found Fluff sleeping in the home of the elven girl, unharmed and perfectly content. Yoinking Fluff back to her side, they returned to the wagon and the next morning sought out the local Temple to Shenshe were the priestess began working with the moss to create a cure. Returning to Tamami's home, the Tempests offered her parents the first batch of the cure that would hopefully aid in their recovery and perhaps cleanse the whole village. Picking up where we last left off, the Tempests ventured deep into Yutsushige forest in search of a cure-all moss that supposedly grew on the roots of a "Weeping Sequoia". Along the way, the party discovered that they were going in circles despite Moriko's ability to know which way wasn't North and decided to take a rest before trying again. Some time during the last watch, the group was separated by a trio of Treants who wished to test them and see if they were worthy of being allowed so deep within their territory. Passing with flying colors, the Tempests were permitted entry into the Treant's Grove, their most sacred area. Lakin took charge and waded across the small lake to retrieve the moss they had come for while the others spoke with Ironroot, the leader of the Treants, to see what they were doing about the blight ravaging the country. Ironroot revealed that the blight had not yet encroached very far into their territory and was therefore, none of their concern. - Once the moss was collected, the Tempests were escorted from the forest with a few gifts given to them by the Treants and were given permission to visit whenever they pleased. Once again, the Tempests hit the road and then realized that they had no idea WHERE or WHO they needed to deliver the moss to (and Tanaka was of no help either). Choosing to head towards the far Western part of the Kudong Harbor, Dragon's Shore, they worked their way East until they found where they needed to be: Calm Water Piers. Reaching the border between the two regions, they encountered a "dead zone" where the Redguard had evacuated a wide stretch of the village to keep the disease from spreading. Picking up where we last left off, the Tempests ventured deep into Yutsushige forest in search of a cure-all moss that supposedly grew on the roots of a "Weeping Sequoia". After a short skirmish with a group of Trolls, the party proceeded with a little more caution. Soon, the light in the forest dimmed, the canopy blocking the sunlight until it was almost complete darkness between the trunks of the trees. Thankfully, Moriko has a firm grasp on directions and kept them on track. Or so they thought. Passing by a series of carvings in the trunks of the Sequoias, they passed by similar reliefs, leading them to believe they were going in circles despite Moriko's supreme sense of direction. Beginning to hear and see things deep in the forest, the Tempests decided to rest for the evening and start strong the next dawn. At the end of the final watch, Lakin and Pez realized the Kasumi and Moriko were nowhere to be seen. When trying to locate Zaan, they saw him being carried away by a large hand. Before the two could do anything, they were surrounded by a thick wall of thorns. A huge shoutout to Nick Black who made our intro jingle. Previously on the Tales of Archeron, a new addition was added to the Tempests' roster: the Orc Warlock, Lakin. They encountered the Orc along the Western road leading away from Chunsu to the far off mountains that divides the continent in two. Lakin pledged his skills to their cause for as long as it took if they would promise to assist the Orc in his own daunting task: the destruction of a few orc clans. Luckily for Lakin, the Tempests had their own reasons for visiting the Orc Tribes in the near future. But for now, their goal lay deep within the Sequoia forest in the Yutsushige region. A special moss supposedly grows there beneath a Weeping Sequoia that has medicinal properties. A huge shoutout to Nick Black who made our intro jingle. Last time on the Tales of Archeron, the Tempests had gotten into a bit of trouble in the capital city of Chunsu, deep in the heart of Takatari. To pay for their crimes, they were placed under Country arrest and sentenced to community service. But they weren't tasked with cleaning up streets or helping the local orphanage.. They were given a supposedly very dangerous task that the Shogun had been loathe to risk his own manpower for. The Tempests were sent off to the mountains far to the west of Chunsu into the sequoia forests of the Yutsushige lumberyard. Their goal was to find a special moss that grew on the roots of the Weeping Sequoia. This moss was renowned for its medicinal properties, and was sorely needed to help cure a plague that was currently being contained in a harbor town to the North. Along the way, their babysitter, Tanaka, was nearly killed by a malevolent spirit, but with the help of a new orcish ally known as Lakin, Tanaka was rescued and the Tempests continued along their journey. Lakin's help was not to be completely free however. In return for helping them on their journey, Lakin also had a task that he needed help doing in an area where a feathery friend was supposedly waiting for the Tempests to rescue. Picking up where we last left off, The Tempests had been fairly naughty in the Takatari dynasty, murdering a sizable amount of Redguards who were attempting to apprehend them under the orders of the Shogun's Chief Advisor. After some hefty reprimanding from their acquaintance/kidnapee Tanaka, Kasumi decided that she would turn herself in the next morning. This was a lie however, as Kasumi slipped off in the middle of the night to return the medallion personally. Successfully slipping into the palace grounds, Kasumi was unaware that she had been followed and a short Benny Hill Scene occurred where she tried to shake her pursuer. That is until he threatened the safety of her friends. Submitting to the Kenku, Kasumi was brought before the Shogun and the medallion was returned to its rightful owner. Much to her dismay, Kasumi was not allowed to speak her mind and attempt to explain her decisions, and was instead thrown into the Yamadoku Prison to await her fellow Tempests who had been ordered captured by the Shogun. With surprisingly little hostility, the Tempests were apprehended and brought before the Shogun. Though the Shogun wished them executed, the Chief Advisor Okazaki convinced the Shogun to make use of their skills instead with Community Service. Their first task: Retrieve the moss that grows under the Weeping Sequoia and bring it to the Harbor Town that is currently quarantined and suffering from a plague. Last we left off on the Tales of Archeron, the Tempests got themselves into a bit of a pickle. Early in the day, Tanaka had come calling saying that their presence was requested. Upon exiting the wagon, they discovered their home had been surrounded by a contingent of Redguard soldiers. Tanaka introduced the Chief Advisor of the Shogun, Okazaki, and then slipped into the Redguard ranks. The Chief Advisor demanded that the Shogun's amulet be given to him or else. The Tempests chose "else". A very one-sided battle ensued that ended with them kidnapping Tanaka and escaping in their wagon home. After a very thorough scolding from Tanaka, they let him go free. Wracked with guilt and confusion, Kasumi declared that they would be returning in the morning to turn themselves in. A huge shoutout to Nick Black who made our intro jingle. Last we left off on the Tales of Archeron, the Tempests had a wonderfully spicy dinner date with their new friend, Tanaka, and learned a bit more of the dire nature of things around Chunsu and Takatari as a whole. The next day was filled with wandering shopping as Kasumi had many of her fellows buy clothing that would help them to fit in a bit better with the locals and Brick found himself a slew of books to read to continue his research of the arcane. Taking some time to relax within the city, the Tempests awaited word from Taiko Suki on whether they'd be able to meet with the Shogun or not. We rejoin them now as Tanaka greets them in their own home, announcing Taiko Suki's desire to speak with the Tempests. A huge shoutout to Nick Black who made our intro jingle. Last we left off on the Tales of Archeron, (Many moons ago) the Tempests had traveled halfway across the Takatari Empire to the capital city of Chunsu to finally lay to rest Kasumi's redemption quest, only to be faced with hardship, horror, and a significant amount of red tape. Barred from seeing the Shogun personally, the Tempests received help from a local Redguard named Tanaka to set up a meeting with Taiko Suki, the Overseer of the People. They met with her to see if there was any way to gain an audience with the Takatari ruler. Not terribly hopeful, Taiko Suki agreed to speak with those above her to have an audience arranged if possible. Now left to their own devices, the Tempests wandered the city of Chunsu until they received word from Taiko Suki. We rejoin the Tempests now as they wait for their hot dinner date with Tanaka. Last we left off on the Tales of Archeron, the Tempests had made their way into Kasumi's homeland of Takatari, but not the verdant landscape she was expecting to see. Dead and dying fields, barren farmlands, malnourished wildlife, and aggressive local monsters greeted them each day. Concerned for the well being of her home, Kasumi urged Cassie to travel day and night to reach their destination as quickly as possible, the capitol city Chunsu. After a brief battle against a group of giants the day before, the Tempests arrived at the outskirts of Chunsu where they received directions from a local as to how they could enter the city proper. Last time on the Tales of Archeron, the Tempests descended into Takatari after encountering the two deities, Tlazocoatl and Shenshe, atop their mountain home where they gave their advice, blessings, and gifts to aid them on their journey forward. Making landfall, Kasumi became concerned with the state of her homeland. Much of the grass and vegetation is dead or dying. The vast farmlands are barren and there are few souls traveling the roadways. With a growing sense of unease, Kasumi asked Cassie to continue traveling throughout the day and night on their way to Chunsu. The Tempests were greeted with more and more images of the sickened land: from malnourished wolves, to a pile of corpses not far from the roadside. Along the way, their wagon was hit by a severe earthquake that dislodged many items inside, they encountered a chest weasel that seemed to feed off of frustration and departed after giving the Tempests a few gifts for their efforts, and they came upon a giant hole in the ground surrounded by a handful of locals peering down within. From the icy north to the High Forest, from depths of the ocean to the barren desert, the goofy, rag tag group of somehow highly efficient adventurers known as the Mercs for Hire have traveled nearly the width and breadth of the northern Sword Coast. After finding themselves in the midst of great turmoil and catastrophe the Mercs became the central players in a struggle between all of giant kind, as each clan fought to establish themselves as the greatest in their hierarchy. After a perilous journey involving dragons, oracles, krakens, and of course, giants, the group has reached their final challenge in this chapter of their lives. A final showdown with an ancient blue dragon, Iymrith, the Doom of the Desert, and the instigator of the larger than life troubles that plague the region. As we proceed into a new chapter we'll take a quick look back on what has transpired on The Tales of Archeron, The Tempests had traveled to Aztlan so they could fix their companion Brick who had a faulty core. Traveling and fighting through treacherous oceanic mountains, the Tempests sought out the necessary magical stones, and subsequently discovered some interfering cultists skulking about, and gained a new companion, Moriko - The Silent Blossom. Though they were unable to discover their motives the Tempests thwarted the cultists they came across and reported their presence to the Aztlan military. After killing and unkilling a rare creature to retrieve the final stones needed to craft Brick's new core, they returned to the mainland to find that Chichimec had been attacked by the same Cultists, damaging many of the forges within, slaying their beast of burden Cassie, and kidnapping both G3-MENI and Borgrir. With Chimali injured during the attack, Pez was an incredible asset in helping complete Brick's rebuild, updating not only his core, but his entire physical being. The ritual to transfer Brick's consciousness to his new body went off without a hitch... except for Brick attempting to make a joke that went off "swimmingly". With almost no time to prepare, the Empress of Aztlan, an Aarakocra named Izel, visited Chichimec to personally check in on the repairs and to meet the heroes who uncovered the cultist's meddling. Just in time for the Cultists to meddle once again with the Tempest's previous nemesis, Zephyrus. To complicate things further, another Greim joined the fray, but the Tempests were not to be bested and wiped the Cultists, and Saedhir's beast, off the face of Archeron... But not without casualties on their side as well. Hambjerger was slain during the fray. The Tempests accepted the Empress' offer to bring them back to Colatl to reward their good deeds and along the way, Pez had a heart to heart with Coyote about the loss of his little feathered friend. Accepting Coyote's deal, Hambjerger was revived within the Orc Lands and it is now up to Pez to overcome his fear to find his companion. Performing a ritual provided to them by Chimali, Cassie's spirit was infused into their wagon home, dubbing it "Cassie's Sanctuary". Though it unnerved a few in the party, their wagon home was now self propelling and sentient. The Tempests spent a few days in Colatl, the capital city of Aztlan, and were heralded as heroes to the empire and Moriko was introduced into civilization and the wonderful past time of candle licking. Visiting the temple to the local deity, a few of the Tempests sought out guidance and received some very clear directions. Following the whims of Tlazocoatl, the Tempests headed North towards Takatari with a slight detour up the Dragon Lover's Mountain where they were visited by both Tlazocoatl and Shenshe in the divine flesh. It was here that the Tempests received a blessing from the deities, Kasumi was given all of her tails back plus a curious vision, and Brick was gifted with a scale from Tlazocoatl to help aid in his desire to protect his family. - We rejoin the Tempests now as their skyship slowly descends down into the land of Takatari. Last time on The Tales of Archeron, The Tempests enjoyed a few extra days living in the capitol city Colatl. They checked on their orders from the various Aztlan tradesmen and even enjoyed an afternoon of pampering at the Sunset Bathhouse. Soon enough, their audience with the Empress was set and they met early in the morning to, much to their horror, address the entirety of Colatl. While Moriko and Kasumi froze up like deer in headlights, Pez and Brick stepped forward to say a few words towards the citizenry and seemed to have been met with excitement and approval. The Tempests then joined Empress Izel to a lavish breakfast, wherein Pez educated the Aztlan nobles into the finer arts of Western music. A huge shoutout to Nick Black who made our intro jingle. Last time on The Tales of Archeron, we had a bit of a shopping episode! Brick stayed behind in Tolani Castle to learn more about his heritage and the guards he was modeled after while the other Tempests set out into the city to see what sort of mischief they could get into. Conveniently, a tour guide was assigned to them known as Mister Yoshi, a rather tall halfling of questionable age and limitless eccentricities. Odd as the guide might have been, he led the Tempests around Colatl without fault, getting them to their desired locations with minimal dawdling. Items were ordered, food was purchased, drinks were downed, and candles were licked. It was a rather chaotic first day in the Aztlan capital. A huge shoutout to Nick Black who made our intro jingle. Last we left off, the Mercs 4 Hire were finalizing their plan to hunt down the elusive ship know as the Morkoth. Upon deciding the best course was to use all their resources, they hired a ship through the Harpers and brought along their new dragon friend, Felgolos. Upon arriving at the general area the ship was said to be hiding in the group split up, covering more ground to find their quarry. Before long the Morkoth was sighted and the group quickly converged on the enemy. After a drawn out battle, the crew was dispatched. Hekaton was freed and quickly calmed by Siren, lest he sink the ship himself in his rage at being held prisoner. Another captive was also uncovered, Siren's father, the Silver Tongue. After taking an hour to rest and for peanut to re-atune to the conch of teleportation. The group felt something hit the ship with enough force to shake it. They watch in horror as tentacles large enough to encircle the boat slowly started to pull the ship under the waves. Acting fast, Peanut teleported everyone back to Maelstrom, where we rejoin our heroes as they tumble to the floor in a heap... A huge shoutout to Nick Black who made our new intro jingle. Last time on The Tales of Archeron, with Pez obtaining a new quest from Coyote to find his companion Hambjerger, the Tempests venture onward to the capitol city of Aztlan, Colatl. Along the way, Pez completed the ritual to infuse Cassie's soul into the Wagon, dubbing it "Cassie's Sanctuary". A few of the party members were perturbed by the disembodied voice of their former beast of burden, but seemed to be getting more used to their now living home. Arriving in Colatl, the Empress Izel informed the party that they could expect to hear from her in a few days time as far as their reward was concerned. Last time on The Tales of Archeron, another Greim, Saedhir's Wrath, was supposedly slain after eating some of Empress Izel's Royal Guards and more importantly Hambjerger. Moriko's sharp eyes noticed a shape moving through the trees and gave chase, eventually tracking down and beating the ever living snot out of Saedhir's Wrath who had gone invisible to retreat. The rest of the party arrived and saw to finishing the creature off for good. Except for Brick. He just pretended to be the world's largest cork. With the beast finally slain, Pez dove into its corpse to retrieve what was left of Hambjerger. Their friend retrieved, the Tempests returned to the Empress to see if there was anything she could do to help. Having no way to bring Hambjerger back, Pez seemed to close himself off. Empress Izel invited the Tempests to return with her to Colatl so that she could reward them properly. What they weren't expecting was to be traveling upon the largest vessel they'd ever seen. Far bigger than any sea faring ship, it was the size of a small village. And it flew! It would take a few days to arrive in Colatl and the Tempests had other things that needed addressing. Questioning the severed head of Zephyrus was first on the list and... revealed very little information. The head was promptly chucked off the side of the side of the Koskatl to hopefully not land on some poor child far below and scar them for life. Encouraged by the rest of the party, Pez reached out to Coyote to see what could be done for Hambjerger and received a good heart-to-heart with the deity. Coyote revealed that Hambjerger was gone, yet not. Coyote made a deal with Pez: If the little Kobold wanted his friend back, he'd have to work for it. Coyote resurrected Hambjerger within the Orc lands, and it was up to Pez and his friends to find their companion. Reinvigorated with a new goal on the horizon, Pez finally made a decision about what to do with the Tetl Yolili: He would attach Cassie's soul to their Wagon. Once the ritual was complete, the wagon now named "Cassie's Sanctuary", the Tetl attached itself to the banister where it had been placed. We rejoin the Tempests now as they hear a disembodied yawn and a voice familiar to Pez saying "Hello!" A huge shoutout to Nick Black who made our new intro jingle. Last we tuned in, the Mercs 4 Hire successfully infiltrated the gambling barge known as the Great Dame. After a evening of subterfuge, in which Siren really shined, the wee hours of the morning started to drag on. At that point Peanut decided to speed things up and take matters into his own hands. He infiltrated the office of one Lord Drylund, and quickly established dominance. After realizing something was amiss, the rest of the Mercs quickly but sneakily converged on the office. After a brief interrogation they discovered what little they could before Lord Drylund's master killed him from afar by magical means. After a concocting a very strange plan to explain the Lord's disappearance, the Merc's seemed to get away scot free, a first for them in the city of Yartar. After returning to Everlund, they brainstormed the next part of their mission: Finding a ship cloaked from all divination magic somewhere in the northern Sea Of Swords. Last we last left off, the Tempests had succeeded in fixing Brick's core and were waiting for the arrival of Empress Izel of the Aztlan Empire to come and inspect the repair progress of the Smithy city of Chichimec. She also wished to meet Brick, the original mortal-made being. Their introduction was short lived as shortly after meeting the Empress, Zephyrus chose that moment to attack the city once more with the apparent intent to kill Empress Izel. In the midst of the battle, another of Saedhir's Greims thundered out of the jungle, having pursued the Tempests from the Tepetl Mountains. The Wrath seemed intent on attacking the Empress but was swiftly brought low by Pez's arcane canon, but not before swallowing a few of Izel's personal guards, and Hambjerger, whole. We rejoin the Tempests now as the dust settles, Zephyrus laying dead amidst a pile of rocks, and Moriko pursuing suspicious movement further into the jungle tree-line. Last we left the Mercs 4 Hire, they had returned to Everlund to seek help from the Harpers in uncovering the origins of the wooden coin. After enlisting the help of Siren's brother, Telemachus, they settled into wait while the spies did their thing. After a few days of downtime, during which Peanut started scratching names off his hit list, Telemachus returned with bad news. The coin was a gambling chip from a casino in Yartar. Picking up where we last left off, Brick's prank backfired horribly as his consciousness was transferred into his new body, causing many of the Tempests to lose their trust in the mechanical giant. Brick tried desperately to try to make amends and made a little headway, but still has much ground to cover. The tempests spent the next few days helping repair the Chichimec smithy, get their wagon operational, and inevitably await the arrival of the Empress Izel who ruled over all of Aztlan. Upon the empress's arrival, it became clear that Brick was designed after Izel's personal guard and the empress herself was quite young and somewhat playful. The initial, brief meeting was interrupted by a sarcastic round of applause and an infamously familiar voice calling out to the Tempests. We rejoin them now as Zephyrus, flanked by a small army of cultists, faces off against the Tempests and the Empress' guards. A huge shoutout to Nick Black who made our new intro jingle. Nick Black isn’t who you would expect to start a nonprofit, or a tech company. Until you talk to him, and all the pieces come together. After serving in the Army in Pakistan, Nick was faced with a problem he knew he had to do something to solve. So he started a nonprofit. Through that, he discovered the giving experience wasn’t the same for all donors, and he knew he had to solve that problem too. Now he’s on the podcast, sharing how you can capitalize on the ways you already interact with donors to make their experience better and raise more than ever before. Nick's combination of military and business experience provides a unique take on whether loyalty has a place in business versus how the concept of loyalty is used in a military setting. The big question is, does unflinching loyalty to leadership and/or a business have a place in the corporate world?
