Have you ever caught yourself in the mirror of your relationship, only to see a reflection marred by unintended selfishness? Our latest episode takes a heartfelt look into the subtleties of how selfish behavior can creep into our most cherished bonds. Whether your relationship is in full bloom or facing some turbulence, we bring insights that will help you invest in a future where empathy and compassion are at the core of your connection.Wrapping up the episode, we shine a light on the integral role of selflessness in relationships, taking cues from scripture and the wisdom it imparts. WHAT ARE TRUE FEARS!

Play Episode Play 60 sec Highlight Listen Later Apr 3, 2023 22:09

Rich Relationships Refuge is a YouTube channel and podcast that aims to help couples build healthy and fulfilling relationships. The episode focuses on the impact of Fear on relationships and how it can hinder growth and joy.  When I first heard that scripture, I instantly thought about myself and how Fear affected my life. I felt like I was constantly fearful not of an accident or a tragedy but of the uncertainties of what the future may hold for me. I once heard Fear being described as an acronym for false evidence appearing real. I could instantly relate to that acronym. The essence of Fear is insecurities layered with self-doubt. It is rooted in my desire to control my life.Control of knowing that I must rely on God for my daily necessities of life. Fear handicaps growth in your marriage. One thing that attracted me to my wife was her constant state of being Joyful. This was something that I lacked in my own life because Fear had me bond by thinking of my past, that now affected my future and the future of my spouse. That lack I was experiencing originated as a young child of a broken marriage and an absentee father. When you don't have a father who is your first provider in the physical realm, it sets the stage for Fear and doubts in your heavenly father to be there when you need him. Before  this, I never truly understood how my trust should not be in a person but in the one and true Living God to provide for every area of my life. The first thing that dissolves is joy; the lack of pleasure comes from the constant attention that you give to not having the things that are required for life, as the Bible speaks about in Matthew 6 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothes? (v25).  As an individual or a married couple, you must be willing to take the longest journey inward and be truly honest with yourself. I realized I was Closed, Obstinate, Lazy, and Dishonest. (C.O.L.D). Not from the temperature outside but neglect of my emotional health. I had allowed myself to be controlled by my old human nature versus my new life and Holy Spirit. Many years later, I realized I had allowed Fear to keep me from my spouse. PODCAST:https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/rich-relationships-refuge-with-gil-ren%C3%A9e/id1464865181?i=1000605992553BLOG:https://www.richrelationshipsrefuge.com/post/do-you-struggle-with-pride RICH RELATIONSHIPS REFUGE Meet: Gil & Renée Rich Relationships Refuge podcast with Gilbert J and Renée M. Many business owners would question why I would shout out and publicize other businesses. "Aren't you taking the chance of losing business to them?"... I guess I could be, but I genuinely believe my candle loses nothing when it lights another. There is enough business out there for all of us. We need each other. You never know when that one encouraging encounter can change someone's day or someone's life! An additional four or five people supporting a business can make or break that business. If I can foster a positive introduction, then I will try.      My Relationship Journey :  Pastor Thaylee DickersonRich Relationships With Gil & Renee Beavers Launches Newest Course, Rich Relationships Refuge {Montgomery, AL} - Rich Relationships With Gil & Renee Beavers is announcing the launch of its newest course, Rich Relationships Refuge. The full details of the 10-week program, along with the registration page, is at richrelationshipsus.com. Relationship Facilitator and Identity Coach Renee M. Beavers says the course is designed to equip both singles and couples with relationship readiness. “They need to understand there's work that has to be done,” she says, “and also understand they have a clear path regarding what that work is.” The first module of Rich Relationship Refuge is Identity Rehab, which is designed for singles to get to know themselves and married couples to learn what they have in common. Identity Rehab encompasses 18 lessons, surrounding topics including values, communication, love, fear, and trust. “If you don't know who you are, you can't fully give of yourself in a relationship, so we really want people to develop their own personality,” Beavers says. Next in Rich Relationships Refuge is The Oneness Code, which says the marriage relationship requires three to become one: God, the husband, and the wife. There are six lessons surrounding topics including prayer, and empathy. Beavers says The Oneness Code will be a live session in which the coaches will walk participants through the Beavers' Oneness Code Workbook, and center on the mechanics and tools couples need to navigate healthy relationships. Beavers says the couple, who's been married for 32 years, launched their practice in large part because, as African-Americans, they realized most African-Americans either don't realize they need relationship help, they don't want help, or they're embarrassed to seek help. “With our programs, we've created an environment for people to receive help while still remaining anonymous. We go into their environment by delivering this program virtually.” In addition, they offer a private online forum for chatting and asking questions. "Our Love Story"John and Monette Mottenon met over the Thanksgiving holiday in 2010 in Birmingham, AL, and were married a month later on December 26, 2010, in John's town of residence, Montgomery, AL. Monette had wanted to move south for more than 20 years and wanted a lifetime companion. Finally, her dreams came true! Unfortunately, many circumstances caused the whirlwind marriage to end. They went their separate ways, but John never forgot how Monette made him feel during his visit to her hometown of Indianapolis, IN, after they were married. They continued to keep in contact, ending each call with John professing his continued love for Monette. She rejected his advances, even telling him not to call her “honey” or “darling.” But as life would have it, a mutual friend's sister passed away, and John and Monette found themselves sitting together at the funeral eight years later. They began to talk, forgive, and come to terms with their differences. They married again on November 22, 2020. They share their story of faith, hope, and love in this podcast. "RICH RELATIONSHIPS REFUGE"Rich Relationships With Gil & Renee Beavers Launches Newest Course, Rich Relationships Refuge {Montgomery, AL} - Rich Relationships With Gil & Renee Beavers is announcing the launch of its newest course, Rich Relationships Refuge.
