JOSE ALVARADO HAS OFFICIALLY ARRIVED! WHAT A GAME! WHAT A PERFORMANCE! The Knicks sent everyone into All-Star break the right way with one of their most dominant wins against the 76ers EVER. Best road win of the season at a time where NY needed it the most. The Knicks were missing multiple players again but they made no excuses, just came in, handled business and took that W. Pastor Andrew taught from 1 Corinthians 1:26–31 that the gospel intentionally humbles human pride and magnifies God's glory by showing that salvation is not earned by human wisdom, status, or strength, but given by God's gracious calling. He emphasized that believers are chosen not because they are impressive by worldly standards, but so that all boasting is removed and Christ alone is honored as our wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. The message calls listeners to abandon self-reliance and fully trust Christ, both for salvation and daily life. #GloryToGod #GraceAlone #ChristOurWisdom #HumbledByTheGospel #TrustInChrist

Description: Pastor Jamal Bryant is setting the record straight after his wife, Dr. Karri Turner, faced a wave of online "modesty policing" for her choice of attire at the UNCF Atlanta Mayor's Masked Ball. In this episode, we break down the viral moment where Bryant told his congregation, "I bought the dress, and I like it," effectively shutting down critics who labeled the gown as "inappropriate." We discuss the "nude-illusion" fashion trend, the specific $4 million raised for HBCUs that the critics ignored, and the cheeky Instagram follow-up where the couple trolled the internet with a "church-approved" outfit

SHOW NOTES In Podcast Episode 353, “When God Humbles You,” Kim discusses the choices we make daily, either to humble ourselves before God or experience consequences orchestrated by God to humble us. In today's text, we encounter the latest events in the life and rule of King Ahaz of Judah. Not only did he not humble himself before the Lord, but he was “utterly unfaithful to the Lord” and “encouraged his people to sin.” Let's learn from his poor choices and live daily in humble submission to the Lord and His plans. Our focal passage for this episode is 2 Chronicles 28:16-19, with 19 as the focal verse: 19 The Lord was humbling Judah because of King Ahaz of Judah, for he had encouraged his people to sin and had been utterly unfaithful to the Lord. WEEKLY ENGAGEMENT FEATURE: Which would you choose — humble yourself before the Lord OR have Him humble you because of your sin? Additional Resources and Scriptures: 2 Remember how the Lord your God led you through the wilderness for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey his commands. 3 Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord…16 He fed you with manna in the wilderness, a food unknown to your ancestors. He did this to humble you and test you for your own good. (Deuteronomy 8:2-3, 16) 1 It was in the year King Uzziah died that I saw the Lord. He was sitting on a lofty throne, and the train of his robe filled the Temple. 2 Attending him were mighty seraphim, each having six wings. With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew. 3 They were calling out to each other, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Heaven's Armies! The whole earth is filled with his glory!” 4 Their voices shook the Temple to its foundations, and the entire building was filled with smoke. 5 Then I said, “It's all over! I am doomed, for I am a sinful man. I have filthy lips, and I live among a people with filthy lips. Yet I have seen the King, the Lord of Heaven's Armies.” 6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal he had taken from the altar with a pair of tongs. 7 He touched my lips with it and said, “See, this coal has touched your lips. Now your guilt is removed, and your sins are forgiven.” 8 Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.” (Isaiah 6:1-8) EMAIL — encouragingothersinlovingjesus@gmail.com Facebook Group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/encouragingothersinlovingjesus X - https://x.com/eoinlovingjesus?s=21&t=YcRjZQUpvP7FrJmm7Pe1hg INSTAGRAM - https://www.instagram.com/encouragingothersinlovingjesus/ “Encouraging Others in Loving Jesus” YouTube Channel: Check it out at https://www.youtube.com/@EncouragingOthersInLovingJesus I WANT TO BEGIN A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST. A — About Jeremiah 49:7–22 declares God's certain judgment upon Edom. Their pride, false security, and reliance on rocky fortresses cannot protect them from the Lord, who comes like a lion and an eagle to expose, humble, and overthrow them. B — Best Verse Jeremiah 49:17 — "Edom also shall be an astonishment… no one shall remain there." C — Called to Do We are called to walk in reverent awe, rejecting self-reliance and pride. We trust Christ—the Lion of Judah—who judges the nations but protects His people. For unbelievers, the warning foreshadows the final judgment and the urgent need to seek refuge in Him.

On this episode of the JT Sports Podcast, JT reacts to the shocking chaos of Week 1 and puts Arch Manning under the brightest spotlight. Florida State Seminoles bullied the Alabama Crimson Tide, Tommy Castellanos danced on their defense, and Arch Manning looked rattled as the Ohio State Buckeyes turned Texas into a checkdown clinic—yes, Arch Manning hype met reality. LSU Tigers out-toughed Clemson Tigers, Tennessee Volunteers steamrolled Syracuse, and the whole weekend screamed 2007-style disrespect and legacy flips. If Arch Manning doesn't answer fast, Arch Manning becomes the cautionary tale everyone's too scared to say out loud—and I'm about to say it.
Take my yoke upon you, says the Lord, and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart.A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke (Lk 14:1, 7-14) today's readings).Jesus told a parable to those who had been invited, noticing how they were choosing the places of honor at the table. "When you are invited by someone to a wedding banquet, do not recline at table in the place of honor. A more distinguished guest than you may have been invited by him, and the host who invited both of you may approach you and say, 'Give your place to this man,' and then you would proceed with embarrassment to take the lowest place."Jesus says this to guests present at a banquet of one of the leading Pharisees—an incisive teaching for all present who observe and hear him. Jesus witnesses the guests taking places of honor at the table and shares a parable with them about humility and the position you perceive yourself to hold. It ends with a consequence that is often disregarded: "For every one who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted." In the first reading, Sirach speaks similar words to a beloved hearer: "My child, conduct your affairs with humility, and you will be loved more than a giver of gifts. Humble yourself the more, the greater you are, and you will find favor with God." Jesus invites us to take up the yoke of humility, to learn from him in being humble of heart.God, help me today to accept the invitation of Jesus to be meek and humble. At the same time, give me the opportunity today to be a means of your love to someone who may not be able to respond in kind. "Blessed indeed will you be, Jesus says, "because of their inability to repay you." Pour out generously the gifts of understanding and wisdom when I struggle or resist finding the purpose in the yoke Jesus invites me to take up. Seeing and receiving it is more than I can do on my own, and I depend on you to guide me. God, come to my assistance; Lord, make haste to help me!Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. In Daniel 4, Pastor John Murphy reminds us that God often gives a “check engine light” in our lives—warning us about the danger of pride before it destroys us. Pride hides in many forms, whether through self-glory, self-sufficiency, comparison, or ignoring God's Word, and Nebuchadnezzar's fall shows how God always humbles the proud. Yet his restoration points us to Jesus, the true King who humbled Himself, was exalted, and now calls us to repent, confess our pride, and look to Him for mercy.
In this clip from the Friday episode of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by Edgar Snyder & Associates, host Adam Bittner welcomes Post-Gazette sports columnist Jason Mackey to react to the team's joint practice with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Acrisure Stadium. Were Jalen Ramsey, T.J. Watt and the defense humbled a bit by Buccaneers WR Mike Evans and QB Baker Mayfield, who will now reportedly sit out the teams' preseason game Saturday despite initially planning to play? How long will it take Ramsey to reach his potential within coach Mike Tomlin's defense? Why are communication issues -- cited by DB Brandin Echols -- still showing up after proving costly down the stretch last season? Does DC Teryl Austin need to prove he can fix them soon? And how much would this unit miss Cam Heyward if he holds out because of his contract dispute with GM Omar Khan? Do Keeanu Benton, Derrick Harmon and Yahya Black give the defensive line enough depth the weather the storm? Our duo tackles those questions and more.

Be Like a Child Again - Matthew 18:1-14Put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. - Ephesians 4:22-24Jesus begins this chapter on living in community with other believers by making sure we understand what is actually required for us to get into Heaven and His desire for us to bring others there with us.The importance of a childlike faith - V. 1-5Before we look at what Jesus said to them, note from verse 2 that when Jesus called the child, the humble child came to Jesus without hesitation, ready to do whatever Jesus asked. They were arguing about which of them would be the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus let them know that if they didn't change their attitude and become like a child, they wouldn't even be in Heaven. What do proud, self-promoting people need to do to make sure they are going to Heaven? They need to make a u-turn from self-focus and humbly trust Jesus the way a child trusts a reliable parent with total dependence.Remember that humility is not the opposite of pride, it is the u-turn you make from glorifying yourself to glorifying God. Christians are called to glorify God. Humility is the u-turn you make to get on with glorifying God. Humbles yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up! - James 4:10Don't cause believers to stumble (including yourself) - V. 5-9In verses 6-9 Jesus deals with the sin, offenses, and stumbling blocks that keep ourselves and others from coming fully to Christ. He uses some form of the Greek word scandalon 6 times in those 4 verses.Sin in our lives and toward other people must be dealt with so we don't scandalize the gospel of Jesus Christ! In a sinful world there are going to be stumbling blocks – but don't you add to them – inside these church walls, or in your home's walls, or anywhere.Cutting sinful things out of your life won't save you, but it will show your faith is real and help you be a faithful and fruitful follower of Jesus Christ. Jesus makes clear here that refusal to get serious about sin in your life may indeed mean you are bound for Hell.“The two great dangers of willful sin are the continual hardening of your heart and how it diminishes your sense of the Holy Spirit's presence.” - Thomas MantonSpiritually rescue as many children (and others) as possible - V. 10-14I believe verse 10 is teaching us that those who will believe have 1 or more guardian angels who God dispatches to minister to us as we move toward the day we become believers. Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation? - Hebrews 1:14The question is not whether those in Heaven desire children and lost souls to be saved. The question is how committed God's believers on earth are to their salvation.I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents! - Luke 15:10Since Heaven is obviously so committed to reaching children, will you continue to help this Baptist Tabernacle reach children and youth and their families by praying, giving, and serving as able?
