    We are going to get deep into the anatomy, physiology and science behind the difference in workouts, nutrition, and supplementation between men and women for optimal body composition, overall health and optimal hormonal health.     Find YOUR Calories & Macros for Fat Loss, Muscle, and Maintenance (Easy Guide)

    Today I am going to show you a step by step guide on how to calculate your macros for your fitness goals based on your body type as a mesomorph, ectomorph or endomorph so you can lean out, build muscle, and overall it makes nutrition very easy. First, you need to know what your body type is: a mesomorph is someone who is naturally athletic and muscular it's very easy for you to build muscle, an ectomorph is someone who is naturally skinny/thin it's very hard for you to put on weight, and an endomorph is someone who naturally tends to be thick all around so you may constantly struggle with your weight. So for example, if you are 150lbs and your goal is to get to 135lbs and you workout 3-4x a week. You would take your goal weight of 135lbs and multiply it by 12 and get 1,620 then multiply 135lbs by 14 and get 1,890 and your daily caloric range would be 1620-1890. Now, I usually tell people to aim for the higher end of that range on your active days. Now there is some math of figuring out the exact macros now of how many carbs, fats and protein to get in that caloric range. Once you know your body type of a mesomoprh, endo or ecto morph the easiest thing in my opinion is simply to go to something like MyFitnessPal and under goals put in your calorie goals and then change the macro % ratio to fit your body type needs.     You Are The Common Denominator In Your Life

    When you find yourself changing relationships, jobs, friendships, and situations, but you keep having the same experience no matter how much you change…the one thing that is constant is you.    Thing of yourself like a magnet. You will draw to you the people, places, and experiences that reflect back to you your deepest subconscious beliefs. You will also be attracted to the people, places and experiences that reflect those deep beliefs to you as well.    In order to have a different experience, you have to change your internal emotional set point so that the things you are attracting in your life and you find yourself attracted to are in alignment with you.    You attract what you are and what you believe….not what you want.    In today's episode, we will talk about how your own emotional set point is acting like a magnet in your life and how you can change that so that instead of constantly changing your external experiences you can change your inner set point to start having new and different experiences.    When you keep changing things outside yourself, but keep finding yourself in the same experiences…you have to stop and observe that you are the constant factor in all of your experiences and that any real change starts with you.  Resources: Get Your Personal Lab Based Nutrition with 25% Off: Ready to take your health and fitness to the next level?     Why do bad things happen if we are on the “right track”? Why do “bad things” happen to good people? How do you know if you are making the right or wrong decision?   Any time life starts to shift and change it can put us in a place of feeling like life is happening to us instead of for us. It also can cause us to be paralyzed by fear of making the wrong choice, scared that if we make a mistake or don't make the “right” choice then we will ruin not just our life, but the life of others so we stay stuck and in a constant state of stress, fear and worry.   As you've heard me talk about before, our bodies are a house for our emotional experiences. When we are in a constant state of stress and worry…or resisting what “is” our bodies will start to experience mis-alignments as well letting us know that maybe our lives are a little out of alignment, maybe we are resisting our truth, or maybe we are denying our emotional experiences.     Trust The Process & Timing Of Your Life

    Ever been in a place in life where you just feel stuck? Nothing seems to be going right and no matter how hard you try you just can't seem to get things to move forward? Life is constantly working in our favor. A lot of times the Universe is giving us exactly what we need, but it may not be exactly what we want. Most of our suffering comes from us thinking of how things should be instead of opening up to how they actually are in the present moment.    There's a great part in some of the Law of Attraction books that states that when we ask the Universe for something it also will deliver to us the lessons and experiences we need to help us grow into becoming the person we need to become in order to receive the things it is that we asked for. So a lot of times we place our request to this higher power and then the response we get is obstacles, painful experiences, confusion and all this crap that comes up thinking that maybe our order got misunderstood because this is wasn't what we asked for.  When the reality is you are and will get what you asked for, but you also will receive all the things that need to come into your life to help you grow to be in alignment with that specific thing. When you are forcing, chasing, or searching, you are resisting where you currently are at because where you are at is uncomfortable and you haven't learned the lessons that your present reality is trying to give you.    In today's podcast episode, we are going to talk about how to trust the process and timing of your life especially when you are looking for direction or feel like you are stuck!     Intermittent Fasting, Fasted Cardio, & Calorie Deficits - What's The Best Way To Boost Fat Loss?

    “The same boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It's what you're made of. Not the circumstances. That determines what you become.” - Unknown   What is Intermittent Fasting? IF is essentially going long periods of time without eating. The point behind this and why its become so popular is because for some people it can help regular blood sugar, manage body weight, and help control triglycerides. Here's the thing and the simple truth…any time you're skipping meals and in an extreme calorie deficit…you will lose weight.    Does it work? Some people can do well with IF. Some. Most of the people who seem to respond to IF better than others are men….not all men, but mostly men. For women, there have been numerous studies on how IF actually can disrupt female hormones causing early menopause, stopping periods, lowering libido, metabolism disruptions, and even mood.    It's not just women though, men have also experienced issues with IF disrupting the male hormones.    While men tend to do better with Intermittent Fasting, I still am not a fan of ever skipping meals or under fueling your body because of the additional stress it places on your body which besides the HP Axis starts to get into issues with blood sugar balance and cortisol imbalances too…P.s. Adding extra stress can also cause early aging too…so stop.   We then get into fasted cardio….here's the thing with fasted cardio….take everything I told you about what fasting can do to your body by adding extra stress on to it and then now take additional stress (yes exercise is stress….the body doesn't recognize good or bad it just sees extra stress or work load on the body) and now you've not only are depriving your body of the nutrients it needs to get through a workout, but you're also requiring it to increase production of cortisol to give you enough energy to get through the workout…which cortisol increases fat storage.    Ok, Ashley so then what is the best way to lose fat without losing lean muscle?    Well, its balanced deficits based on your macros and daily expenditure. Go find any fit, lean, athletic looking man or woman anywhere and ask them how many meals they skip or how often they fast….and I would bet money they say none. They are eating all the time fueling their body. Ask people who look the way you want to look what they are doing. This goes for anything in life….ask people who are where you want to be what they are doing and how to get there…quit taking advice from people who's life doesn't look at all like how you want yours to look.   That means you're still consuming adequate amounts of protein, fats, and carbs, but reducing your caloric intake slightly so that the energy you take in is slightly lower then the energy you are burning. Slightly by the way is maybe 300-ish calories less than what you should be consuming. So if you should be consuming around 2,300/day it means you may be around 1900-2,000ish to be in a slight deficit, but not so much of a deficit that you are at risk of causing too much stress on your body or your body having to burn up lean muscle in order to stay fueled.     Are You Blocking The Exact Things You Say You Want In Life?

    “Perhaps the greatest risk any of us will ever take is to be seen as we really are.” ― Cinderella Are you blocking the exact things you want in life? Sounds crazy, but the truth is we do this quite often. It's usually because in order to receive something we usually have to let go of something else and sometimes we end up blocking the thing we say we want from coming in because we are too afraid to let go of everything that is not it. The interesting thing about letting go and letting in is that it's usually what we are most afraid of that is actually the thing we most deeply desire. It's the old quote/saying that everything you want is on the other side of fear. It's so true. Letting go is scary for everyone because letting go requires such intense vulnerability. Vulnerability in not knowing what will happen if you let go, not knowing if its safe, not knowing what is on the other side and totally surrendering to that unknown. At the same time, the only way to let in the life that is waiting for you and the life that you want is through the process of letting go and creating space. The beautiful thing is that what you want also wants you, but the only way to experience it is to be brave enough in vulnerability to let go and allow it to come in.  Surrender requires you to trust and call on something much greater than yourself. It's being willing to open yourself up to other possibilities in life that may look totally different than you expect. " -Marianne Williamson Your mental health and self care is one of the most loving and important thing you can give to yourself and to others. There is so much emphasis out there on meditation, mindset, and reprogramming your thoughts to help alleviate things like anxiety and depression, but did you know that there are actual ways you can make sure your nutrition is also supporting your mental health? Some of the things we are going to talk about in this episode will be centered around helping alleviate anxiety, low mood, energy crashes, and the feeling of burn out by making sure that you are eating the right nutrition for blood sugar balance, the right macros to make sure you are getting enough carbohydrates for important neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine, but also making sure you are getting the right micronutrients to support your mood as well. The benefit to doing your personal blood work and getting nutrition based off of that is that we can identify any specific nutrition deficiencies that may be going on in your body that can contribute to things like anxiety, depression, low mood, energy crashes and sleep disturbances.
