VROMO is the only delivery management software solution tailored to the restaurant and food industry. VROMO's foundation is its customizable and intuitive dispatch technology which allows customers to manage their deliveries and drivers seamlessly from a cloud-based system. When it comes to new clients, VROMO is honest about the cost of the product and whether the restaurant is big enough to realize a profit while using the service. If the ROI isn't there, the VROMO team will let the restaurant know that. Alan predicts that assisted-driving delivery vehicles are on the horizon but drone delivery is likely 10 years away. On a five year horizon, Alan predicts a rise in local delivery co-ops comprised of large groups of very small restaurants banding together to share delivery services. Quotes “Ultimately what we do is try to make delivery profitable. If an order is going out of the kitchen, there's a huge case for VROMO.” (Alan) “What the pandemic introduced is a speed in decision making that this industry hasn't seen in a long, long time. To the point of very little thinking and due diligence about what happens next. But that was okay. We were all in survival mode.” (Alan) “If you think about how much time a marketing department or an operational department puts into kitchen layouts, store layouts, the queue, the tills, the music that you hear when you walk in and now imagine trying to replicate that decision-making process with delivery. It just hasn't happened. At all. That's really what VROMO is trying to accelerate from a restaurant perspective.” (Alan) “(Restaurants) need to operate as slick digitally as Uber and Doordash and GrubHub. Not that they're competitors. The third-party marketplaces have a place. They have a part to play, but I have never heard someone say, ‘I really enjoyed my Doordash pizza that I ordered last night.' You say, ‘I really enjoyed my Blaze pizza that I ordered on Doordash.'” (Alan) “Restaurant brands are investing so much. I feel like it's an overcorrection. All digital, all off-prem, optimized for pick-up and delivery – and optimization should happen – but it feels like we're going too far the other way.” (Joseph) Transcript 00:00.00 vigorbranding Everyone today I am joined by my friend Alan Hickey he is the founder and chief commercial officer at a place called Romo which we are going to unpack in full detail on this episode Alan is a proud scotsman. Episode 92 - Brian's Star Wars Toys - The Vintage Rebellion Podcast Top o' the mornin' to ye! That jolly little leprechaun Richard introduces a show recorded on St Patrick's Day, with special guest Brian Hickey hailing from the Emerald Isle. The lads come up with their best blarney as they take a look at the Irish Star Wars connection. There's TV talk, as we look back at the finale of The Book of Boba Fett, where Jason's predictions came scarily true, and then forward to Obi-Wan, with a dive into the latest news and of course that trailer. The lads run down a bumper list of latest acquisitions and give shout outs to some wonderful finds from around the collecting world, followed by a lively Action Figure Face-Off, and a quiz led by Pete, but with a strong Canadian flavour. Rebel Briefings sees the boys hear an amazing Kiwi tale from Mark Catley, look ahead to a collection of conventions, go scouting for toys, discover a body in the River Thames, and ponder the sale of a grail. Our main interview guest Brian Hickey is a photographer with an amazing eye for action shots of action figures, and a talent for recreating movie scenes in miniature. We talk about childhood, collecting, projects, and future plans. The show rounds off not with a bang, but a bag, as the lads look at Frankel & Roth school bags and pencil cases. From Jason's con bag to Spoons' satchel, it's a quick belt through bags and backpacks of all kinds. All this and the usual stuff and nonsense, look out for the podcast in all the usual places. Our technical Jedi, Mr Chris Porteous has also put this altogether on the moving pictures website: https://youtu.be/plhQz6Wis2c

What happens when TV cameras go away? What happens when something like a massive wildfire is put out and a community's recovery begins? That's what KCRA reporter Vicki Gonzalez set out to discover when she followed four families for an entire year who'd lost everything in the Camp Fire. The Camp Fire is the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in California history. It broke out on Nov. 8, 2018, virtually wiping out the town of Paradise. 85 people died. 19,000 homes and businesses were destroyed. Survivors told stories that sounded like they were straight out of an action movie. But, there were also remarkable stories of everyday people who found themselves doing extraordinary things to save themselves and others. On this Dying to Ask: I sit down with two of my colleagues whose work led our Camp Fire coverage. First, Brian Hickey and I relive where we were when the first scanner traffic about the fire started. I will never forget Brian's face as he comprehended the magnitude of what first responders were reporting. And then, Vicki Gonzalez tells us the backstory of her one-hour documentary "Return to Paradise." Find out how she chose the four families she followed for a solid year and the affect this project has had on her personally. It's an exceptional look at the devastation and inspiration you'll find in Paradise.

The Build Guild Podcast : A Professionally Unprofessional Podcast for Makers
Episode One: Meeting the Makers From social media, the Small Business Revolution™, and side hustles, three makers from different backgrounds have all settled into a small central Arkansas town. Driven by their love for making, community, and connection, Ben, Brian, and Coty invite you to take an inside look into the making world: from stealing Wal-Mart Wi-Fi to for Instagram posts to selling pencil bowls to grandma. Each of these makers bring a variety of skills into their niche of the market into the making community. The Build Guild is just evidence that everyone brings something to the table, and if you’re Coty, you just might bring the table itself. Who are the Makers? Brian Hickey is a native Arkansan who teaches art at a local elementary school. Making is his side hustle, and he devotes most of his summer breaks to it. Brian’s specialties are wood signs, art prints, and paintings. Brian currently has his shop set up in his garage and is breaking even in his business as he amasses tools and other necessities. Brian’s social media presence and content is a direct reflection of the intentionality he exemplifies in his career and craft, with him walking to Wal-Mart each day to make a post to Instagram. Coty Skinner is a native Arkansan who, after serving in the United States military, decided to return home and put down roots. He was one of six contestants chosen for season four of Hulu and Deluxe’s Small Business Revolution and hopes to put the expert advice and consultations he received from the show into practice in his business. Coty is the only full-time maker on the podcast, and he is currently working out of his own garage. Being featured on the show will provide Coty with incredible opportunities for growth, enhancement, and business savvy tactics to turn profits. Ben Myers decided to leave Pennsylvania to come to college and never looked back. Ben is a hybrid of classic woodworking in the modern era. From woodturning to turning profits on digital CNC files, Ben has cornered his market, and brings insight on the delights and downfalls of social media, viral videos, and how that translates into business. The Build Guild was created to demonstrate how three normal, average, and everyday dads are cornering their market while balancing family, fatherhood, and making. The show addresses a variety of topics from where customers come from, when your side hustle finally starts to feel like a business, to the hardships of pricing, and everything in between.
