Send us Fan MailPeaches, Aaron, and Trent are back—and this one starts like a normal episode… then immediately spirals into “how is this real life?”We're talking a THIRD assassination attempt, security failures that make zero sense, and a public reaction that's basically… meh. But it doesn't stop there. The guys dive into conspiracy territory—dead scientists, anti-gravity tech, and whistleblowers conveniently disappearing right before testimony. Yeah… that part. Then they pivot (hard) into something they actually know: the A-10 debate. Why it's still one of the most effective platforms out there, why leadership keeps trying to kill it, and the real problem nobody talks about—logistics, cost, and the lack of a real replacement. And of course, it wouldn't be Ones Ready without chaos—Vegas reunions, monster-fueled instructors, and the reality that most “highly trained professionals” are absolutely not running toward random danger.Bottom line: the world's getting weirder, the decisions aren't getting better, and you probably aren't getting the full story.⏱️ Timestamps: 00:00 Creatine Gummies & Chaos Start 03:00 Sleep Deprivation vs Performance 05:30 Vegas Reunion—CCT x A-10 Crossover 08:30 “You Saved My Life” Moments 10:30 Third Assassination Attempt?! 13:00 Security Failures That Don't Add Up 16:00 Why Nobody Cares Anymore 19:00 Conspiracies—Dead Scientists & UFO Tech 23:00 Whistleblowers Don't Last Long 26:00 Real vs Fake Outrage 29:00 A-10 Debate—Why It Still Matters 33:00 The REAL Reason It Might Die 37:00 No True Replacement Exists 40:00 Warfighters vs Internet Experts 43:00 Final Thought—Things Aren't Normal
Higher education is facing a leadership crisis, and this conversation explains why. In this live episode of Weekly Wisdom, Bridget Burns and Donna Lederman break down what makes the college presidency one of the hardest jobs in America, why so many presidents leave after just a few years, and what that instability is doing to colleges, universities, and students. If you work in higher education leadership, student success, university administration, academic affairs, or institutional strategy, this episode will help you better understand the pressures shaping college presidents today. From governing boards and faculty politics to media scrutiny, innovation, public trust, and the future of student-centered leadership, this is an honest conversation about what higher ed leaders are really up against and what must change next. If you care about college leadership, higher education innovation, presidential turnover, student outcomes, and the future of universities, this episode gives you a rare inside look at what's broken and what gives experienced leaders hope. You'll Learn:→ Why the average college president's tenure is shrinking and how constant turnover can set institutions back for years. → What most people misunderstand about presidential power and why many leaders have far less control than the public assumes. → What separates innovative presidents from ineffective ones, including vision, culture, risk tolerance, and the ability to keep students at the center. → Bridget and Donna also discuss nontraditional leadership pipelines, media relationships, public trust, and why this difficult moment may finally push higher education toward real change.Learn more about the UIA by visiting:WebsiteLinkedInTwitterYouTubeFacebookThis week's episode is sponsored by Mainstay, a student retention and engagement tool where you can increase student and staff engagement with the only platform consistently proven to boost engagement, retention, and wellbeing. President Donald Trump has condemned Iran's election of Mojtaba Khamenei as its new Supreme Leader (succeeding Ayatollah Ali Khamenei). Trump asserted, "He's going to have to get approval from us. . . If he doesn't get approval from us, he's not going to last long." The Sekulow team discusses the choice of Iran's Assembly of Experts, U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East, the ACLJ's legal work – and much more.

Ajahn Dhammasiha shares the story how Ven Mahakassapa first met the Buddha. Later, closer to the time of the Buddha's Parinibana, Ven Mahakassapa approches the Buddha and asks: "In the beginning, we had few rules and many persons attaining awakening. Now we have so many rules, but only few persons realize the Dhamma: What's the reason for that?"The Buddha explains that it's a natural process of impermancence for the True Dhamma (Saddhamma) to gradually vanish. However, monks, nuns, male & female lay followers can extend the lifespan of the True Dhamma if they establish five conditions: Respect and deference to the Buddha Respect and deference to the DhammaRespect and deference to the SanghaRespect and deference to the Training (Sikkha)Respect and deference to SamadhiWebsiteOur Spotify PlaylistsNewsletterDhammagiri Youtube ChannelPics#dhammatalk #buddhiststory #mahakassapa #buddha #saddhamma #dhamma #respect

On The Spark this Monday, ABC27 meteorologist Dan Tomaso joined host Asia Tabb to talk about the recent stretch of refreshing weather in Central Pennsylvania — a welcome change after a hot and humid July. “We’re coming off just a beautiful weekend,” Tomaso said. “It started out Friday with cooler weather and cloud cover — and I hesitate to say it on the air — but it felt like fall.” The crisp air and lower humidity came as a surprise to many. “I was at the pool on Saturday and the whole place cleared out,” Tomaso joked. “Maybe it was too much of a change, but regardless, the change is here.”Support WITF: https://www.witf.org/support/give-now/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

I'd said in the closing to last week's episode that I get a strong connection between this song and the Jeff Lynne era of Tom's work. So, close your eyes, listen to the first four bars, and imagine coming out of Too Good to Be True and into this song. It feels as natural a transition as anything in the catalogue to me. I think it's partially the blend of those two acoustic guitars panned left and right sitting underneath that crunchy electric part from Mike. The tempo, bounce, and feel of this just screams Into the Great Wide Open era to me.Song: https://youtu.be/2_JOAHA2tpkDon't forget to follow me on social media, like, subscribe, and please, leave a rating if you like the show.Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thetompettyprojectBluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/tompettyproject.bsky.socialInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/thetompettyprojectYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@thetompettyprojectThreads: https://www.threads.net/@thetompettyprojectAll music, including the theme song, provided by my very best friend Randy Woods. David Kelly, chief global strategist at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, says that using tariffs "is like throwing a grenade as an offensive weapon when you are in a small room. You are much more likely to damage yourself than anybody else," which is why he is expecting the Trump Administration to back away from its heavy demands rather than go into a trade war. Despite being "one Tweet away from a solution," Kelly worries that the economy will suffer damage — particularly if it's not cleared up soon — but he notes that he does believe a recession is in the offing, with the good news being that he thinks that slowdown will be shallow and short-lived, passing by the end of the year. Peter Chung, director of research at Presto Research, a firm that trades digital assets, checks in on Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies and discusses their strong rebound since taking a nosedive along with the stock market heading into "Liberation Day" and through the subsequent downturn; he discusses how digital assets are being impacted by tariff concerns. Plus Andrew Kohl, portfolio manager for Aberdeen Investments' Total Dynamic Dividend and Global Dynamic Dividend funds, says investors can find strong payouts and good valuations buying foreign dividend-paying stocks, noting that many companies can keep rolling regardless of trade policy outcomes in the coming months. He also names two of his favorite dividend plays for the current market.

The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 1: 3:05pm- During a press briefing on Wednesday, President Joe Biden announced that Israel and Hamas have reached a ceasefire agreement which will take effect on Sunday. Under the agreement's terms, which still needs to be confirmed by the Israeli cabinet, Hamas will release 33 hostages—though, 100 are being held in Gaza currently. Biden told members of the press that his administration worked alongside the incoming Trump administration in order to get the deal done. 3:15pm- On Wednesday, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee held a hearing to consider Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) for Secretary of State in the incoming Trump Administration. Rubio, who has served in the Senate since 2011, joked “it's a bit surreal to be on this side of the room.” 3:20pm- On Tuesday, Secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee. At one point, Hegseth outlined his plan to eradicate “woke” ideology from the U.S. military—vowing to prioritize combat preparation and competency. Rich notes that President-elect Donald Trump has a unique opportunity to combat the out-of-control growth of the federal government—but his job will be made easier if he has his preferred cabinet. 3:30pm- Coca-Cola CEO James Quincey presented Donald Trump with a special “Commemorative Inaugural Diet Coke” bottle. Matt tells Rich that he HAS to get one of these bottles of Coke! 3:40pm- Politico is already predicting Marco Rubio, who is expected to be confirmed by the Senate, won't last long as Secretary of State because he doesn't mesh well with the “MAGA-agenda.”
