April 25, 2026 - Equipped 2026 - Day 3 - 10:00 AM Session This episode features a heartfelt sermon-style teaching from a pastor/teacher working through Genesis 39, aimed especially at teens, parents, and church leaders. The speaker uses Joseph's encounter with Potiphar's wife to explore how private decisions reveal character and how young people can stand firm in the face of sexual pressure. Topics covered include: the biblical account of Joseph in Genesis 39; three crucial decisions for resisting temptation—deciding who you belong to, deciding how you will respond to temptation before the moment arrives, and deciding what matters more than comfort; the difference between public failure and private character; and the long-term cost of compromise versus the immediate cost of faithfulness. The sermon emphasizes that strength is choosing God in private, and that fleeing temptation is often the right strategy. The speaker illustrates key points with contemporary examples—phone screen-time reports, online temptations and apps, and the marshmallow self-control test—and practical research-backed suggestions such as talking openly about sex and purity, providing a positive home environment, monitoring media, staying busy with good activities, and studying God's design for relationships. The message also includes pastoral encouragement: even when doing right leads to hardship (as it did for Joseph), God's presence and favor remain—"the Lord was with him"—and failure is not final. Listeners can expect candid, practical guidance, clear biblical teaching, and a compassionate call to seek accountability and support from parents, elders, and youth leaders. The episode closes with encouragement to build an identity in Christ, make preemptive decisions about temptation, and accept the cost of faithfulness while trusting God's continued presence and purposes. Duration 38:32
In this episode of the Woodpreneur Podcast, host Jennifer Alger sits down with Marty Parsons of the Wood-Mizer Pennsylvania Authorized Sales Center. What started as a side hustle while Marty worked as a diesel mechanic at PennDOT quickly exploded when he and his wife Lisa sold 65 mills in their very first year. A quarter century later, Marty has built a family-run operation known across the East Coast for its hands-on training, free tech support, and the kind of honest, no-nonsense advice that has made him a go-to voice in the sawmill community. You'll hear about how the authorized sales center model got off the ground, the early pushback from within Wood-Mizer, and how Marty earned respect one perfectly aligned mill at a time. You'll hear about the real reasons sawyers get wavy cuts, why Marty swears by the 747 blade profile for mills of all sizes, and the fuel maintenance mistake that ruins more engines than most people realize. Marty also walks through common calls he gets from customers, from thick-and-thin lumber issues to power feed rebuilds on older mills, and explains why a simple phone call before you start wrenching can save you hundreds of dollars. You'll also hear about the people behind the scenes who make it all work: Lisa, who keeps the books and the business running, son Nick who handles technical calls and wiring, Andrew and Tristan who are learning the trade hands-on, and the Resharp team keeping four grinders and two setters humming. Marty talks about the shift from doing 25 trade shows a year to reaching thousands through social media reels, his collaboration with channels like Outdoors with the Morgans, and what it was like to bring the second WM5500 in the United States to his region. Whether you're a new sawyer trying to figure out why your boards aren't coming off flat, a seasoned mill owner looking for better blade performance, or someone considering getting into the sawmill business, this episode is packed with practical wisdom and real-world experience. A talk with writer/indexer/editor June Skinner Sawyers about her many interests in the literary racket.
He's the producer behind three of the world's leading fitness documentaries. He's one half of the dynamic duo that is hit YouTube channel “The Buttery Bros.” He has exceptional hair. And, as it turns out, Marston Sawyers is human, too. “It's a very fun show and we try to keep it lighthearted, but behind the scenes, I was broken,” he says of the early days launching The Buttery Bros in the aftermath of CrossFit Headquarters' 2019 mass layoff and media purge. “I felt like I'd got my heart ripped out.” If you've only seen him on the screen, hanging with elite athletes and delighting fans with absurd challenges (like an ultramarathon … in Crocs), you might think it's all glitz and glamor. But behind the sunnies and beneath the pat of butter is a very real human with a story to tell: of struggle, perseverance, loss, and growth. “I feel like I've leveled up the way that I feel about sharing my own personal journey and my own vulnerability,” he says. “And it's cool to be able to take a really tough topic that's very personal to me and be able to put it out there for people to see.”--CHAPTERS0:00 Babies, vulnerability, and the “male boob job” 3:40 Afib out of the blue9:56 Pondering mortality 11:40 Change of pace and new life stages 20:04 Growth from vulnerability in storytelling27:28 Storytelling outside of CrossFit 31:37 What CrossFit could learn from HYROX45:38 From childhood obsession with the camera to CrossFit documentarian1:01:17 After the great CrossFit media purge: Starting over, persevering, and staying the path--https://youtu.be/loh4ZdzoNRE?si=fH-hH82UNHCaiUD7---Infinitely Scalable Podcast: Helping entrepreneurs, creatives, and humans everywhere find freedom.

David and Tamler hop into their Scooby Van and drive into Tobe Hooper's mad and macabre horror classic The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Luke Gearing is the renowned writer and game designer behind some of the best weird fantasy adventures made in the last years! He has been making TTRPG stuff for a long while and is tackling bigger and more challenging projects lately. His works include Fever Swamp, The Big Squirm, The Isle, many others, and now Sawyers, a urban fantasy heist game that promises a unique way to play! BACK SWYVERS NOW: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/melsonia/swyvers To be honest, I am a fanboy of Luke. His adventures have a very unique weirdness to it, a creativity that's hard to match, and a way to play that is just fun for both the Referee, who is has no idea what's is going to happen, and for the players, who have many options to follow, but always with a good guidance and motivations to play the adventure to its fullest. Wow! In this chat we talked about the many years he has been working with TTRPG, honing his skill. We talked about how he has some issues with the "game designer" term and prefers to just be a "writer", how he is usually not that interested in new systems and mechanics. We talked about his many influences, both in terms of works that shaped the way he creates, and artists who shaped the way he approaches his process. This is the second episode of our series made in collaboration with Two Circles, where we model the market for sport over the next decade.Today we analyse the role of the athlete, and to help us we're delighted to welcome Jazz Sawyers, British track and field athlete, two time Olympian, five time national champion who recently won gold in the Long Jump at the European Indoor Championships in Istanbul, where she broke the British record by breaking the 7 metre barrier for the first time.Off the track, Sawyers has developed a sports presenting career, competed in The Voice on BBC and also found time to study for a law degree. Joining Jazz are Leo Thompson and Christian Harrell-Baker from Two Circles. Together we ask what will the market for sport reward over the next decade, and what will it punish, who will win and who will lose? Jazz Sawyers is managed independently by Jon Kilmartin, Director of Media Strategy and Insights at Two Circles, and we thank him for his help in setting up the podcast. Hear the first episode of the series here, recorded live at the Two Circles Client Summit in London. Unofficial Partner is the leading podcast for the business of sport. “So the LORD commanded us to observe all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God for our good always and for our survival, as it is today” (Deuteronomy 6:24).It is clear to us that today's world is filled with problems. Satan, as the “ruler of this world” (John 12:31; 14:30) has succeeded in diluting the minds and corrupting the hearts.Meanwhile, God has been active in providing answers and solutions to today's ills. He gives us the wisdom we need in order to succeed and even prosper. Sadly, many people see the Bible as an old, antiquated, out-of-date collection of worthless nonsense. Yet to those willing to invest in a study of the Bible will soon realize the timeless wisdom it contains. The book of Psalms is appropriately classified as one of the “Wisdom Literature” books. Indeed, such a classification fits. This year's study of the Psalms taps into this divine and eternal wisdom. It is a study that shows how modern man can benefit from this ancient source. What Moses told the Israelites applies. What God gives us is “for our good” and “for our survival.” Also notice the last clause “as it is today.” God gave them those commandments years ago, but the benefits of following those commandments is for “today.” The book of Psalms is a book that will help us and help us today.
