Tom Dardick, musician, author, and expert in interpersonal communication, discusses the importance of agency and purpose in personal and professional development. He emphasizes the need to focus on what we can control—our thoughts and actions—and how they can have a positive impact on ourselves and others. Tom also introduces the Eye of Power model, which helps individuals and organizations thrive by cultivating a culture of trust, respect, and collaboration. He explores the impact of AI on the future of work and highlights the importance of wisdom and creativity in navigating the changing landscape. In this conversation, Tom Dardick and Randy Wilson discuss the concepts of wisdom, intelligence, and agency. They explore the idea that wisdom is knowledge about that which doesn't change, while intelligence is knowledge about that which changes. They also delve into the importance of focusing our energy on things we can control and attending to what truly matters. The conversation touches on the role of AI in our lives and the significance of human connection in a world of technological advancements. Tom shares insights from his podcast, Eye of Power, which focuses on expanding personal power and becoming a more fully expressed version of oneself. _____________________ Takeaways Agency is the ability to make something happen that you want to have happen, and it is closely related to free will. Our individuality matters, but it only has meaning in the context of how we are connected to others and how we help them. The Eye of Power model focuses on sustained incremental actions and helps individuals and organizations increase their agency and personal power. Building a culture of trust and respect is crucial for organizations to thrive, especially in the face of AI and automation. Wisdom and creativity will be the currencies that matter in the future, and organizations need to foster these qualities in their teams. Intelligence is knowledge about that which changes, while wisdom is knowledge about that which doesn't change. Wisdom involves discipline and control of one's actions, focusing on what can be influenced and not wasting energy on what cannot be controlled. Human connection is essential in the face of technological advancements, as it provides meaning and purpose to our lives. AI can be a valuable tool in podcast production, assisting with research, episode art, and music generation. Personal change is possible through small, incremental steps, and it is important to believe in one's ability to make a difference. ____________________ Learn more about Tom and get connected on social media through the following links ⬇️ Website - https://www.eyeofpower.com/ Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/tom.dardick Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/tomdardick/ X - https://twitter.com/TomDardick YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjaC-8HIN1wtr-gzzMZhcRA LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/tomdardick/ _____________________ I'd Love to stay connected…Please check out the following links to follow and connect with me on the platform of your choice ⬇️ YouTube Instagram LinkedIn RandyWilsonOnline.com Join the Rich Mind Community here

In this episode of The Restaurant Report podcast, I speak with Erle Dardick, of Lunchbox, a leading restaurant e-commerce platform. We discuss the top tech and consumer trends to watch in the restaurant industry in 2024, including:AI and its impact: AI is already having a major impact on the restaurant industry, from automating tasks in the kitchen to personalizing customer experiences. In 2024, can we expect to see even more widespread adoption of AI, as restaurants look for ways to improve efficiency and profitability?POS and Third-Party Enterprise vs Internal tech stacks: Traditionally, restaurants have relied on third-party point-of-sale (POS) systems. However, more and more restaurants are looking to develop their internal tech stacks. This gives restaurants more control over their data and allows them to integrate their online and offline operations better. Could this backfire on brands like Wingstop?Customer service future: The future of customer service in the restaurant industry is all about convenience and personalization. Customers want to be able to order and pay for their food quickly and easily, and they want restaurants to remember their preferences. In 2024, can we expect to see more restaurants using technology to improve their customer service experience or will the industry continue to suffer under dismal customer service numbers? We dive into the success of Cava, a fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant chain, and what has separated them from the pack of fast casual superstars. Finally, we discuss Sweetgreen, a salad chain that is also using automation to improve its operations. Sweetgreen has developed a fully automated kitchen called Infinite Kitchen, which can produce 100 bowls per hour. This allows Sweetgreen to reduce labor costs and expand its reach to new markets.Overall, the trends discussed in this episode suggest that the restaurant industry is headed for a significant transformation in 2024. AI, automation, and other technologies will play a significant role in how restaurants operate and serve their customers.

They discuss Mayor Emanuel’s proposal to sell up to ten billion dollars’ worth of low-interest bonds and dedicate the proceeds to the four city pension funds. There’s a range of opinions on the effectiveness and potential danger of such a financial scheme, but Martire is cautiously in favor. Dardick reports that a major issue is finding a way to assure that the funds can never be tapped in the future for other purposes, thereby robbing the pension funds and increasing the debt for future generations to pay. How do you balance being the face of the company? How do you train people to advertise the product? US vs. Canada? Notes: - If you want is to be bigger and larger than yourself, you have to ask how your business is scalable and how it could potentially be saleable. - It's very hard to exit from or sell a business if you're into retail shows. - If you're selling consumable low price item, wholesale could be the way to go depending on your wholesale discount. - The more we do video, the more that we look like a team when I talk about them. In skincare, you have to be a good sales person and you have to be well informed about the products. - Make zero claims about the product. - Canada is smaller in market size. - Storage in US is the way to go. Shipping back and forth is expensive. - Facebook Ads: depends on what product we are marketing. Most ads are remarketing ads going to the website or product page.
