Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions:    Ann: Hi Dr. Cabral- everyone out here SO appreciates all you do :) You have mentioned that there is a difference between an IGG reaction to a food and a digestive issue that would cause bloating and gas etc. Could you explain how you can tell if you are having an IGG reaction? I used to think that the bloat was the reaction. The 3 foods I am moderately sensitive to based on my Food Sensitivity test have never given me OVERT symptoms , so I'm wondering how to tell if these or any food combos are giving me inflammation without telltale rash, swelling etc. Im 61 and don't have any pressing health issues so healthspan is my focus right now and I don't want to be eating anything that may be causing me hidden inflammation. Thank you again :)                                                                                                                                                       Kavita: Hello Dr. Cabral, Thank you for your incredible work! I have successfully reversed many of my health issues thanks to your guidance and support. I recently received my test results, and I am pleased to report that they look fantastic overall. However, my cholesterol levels are on the higher side. What recommendations do you have for addressing this? I  walk frequently and work out three to four times a week, including strength training. I am currently focused on my weight, aiming to reach 170 pounds; I weigh 191 pounds at the moment. Additionally, I have been struggling with migraines for most of my life, and I recently started seeing a chiropractor in hopes that this will help alleviate my symptoms. I would greatly appreciate any advice.                                                                                                           David: Hi Dr.Cabral, Really appreciate everything you do and I can't stress enough how much of a positive impact you have had on my life and many of those around me as a result of being the health coach in my home. I've been revisiting my personal protocol to optimize for my genes even more than I do and boy is it a confusing area. Specifically, I am trying to balance MTHFR and COMT. After speaking with a methylation focused nutritionist, she recommended that I switch my DNS to beef liver and beef organ supplements (about 4-5 caps of each) I have taken Equi Life's organ complex and generally tolerated it well, but was wondering if there is a time and place (such as having my genotype) where using a whole food based multi makes sense and is better than synthetic multi-vitamins?                                                                                John: Hey dr I asked you a question on 3410 but you misread the question I wanted to know if I should stop all my supplements when I'm on the heavy metal detox not the regular detox . Just want to make sure the heavy metal doesn't cancel out everything thanks                                                                                                                                                                Tammy: As a healthcare worker, I am seeing an increase in patients with lymphedema, where the calf and ankle areas are very swollen and many times gets blistering sores and veins issues What are your recommendations for lymphedema and venous problems?       Thank you for tuning into today's Cabral HouseCall and be sure to check back tomorrow where we answer more of our community's questions!    - - - Show Notes and Resources: StephenCabral.com/3459 - - - Get a FREE Copy of Dr. Cabral's Book: The Rain Barrel Effect - - - Join the Community & Get Your Questions Answered: CabralSupportGroup.com - - - Dr. Cabral's Most Popular At-Home Lab Tests: > Complete Minerals & Metals Test (Test for mineral imbalances & heavy metal toxicity) - - - > Complete Candida, Metabolic & Vitamins Test (Test for 75 biomarkers including yeast & bacterial gut overgrowth, as well as vitamin levels) - - - > Complete Stress, Mood & Metabolism Test (Discover your complete thyroid, adrenal, hormone, vitamin D & insulin levels) - - - > Complete Food Sensitivity Test (Find out your hidden food sensitivities) - - - > Complete Omega-3 & Inflammation Test (Discover your levels of inflammation related to your omega-6 to omega-3 levels) - - - Get Your Question Answered On An Upcoming HouseCall: StephenCabral.com/askcabral - - - Would You Take 30 Seconds To Rate & Review The Cabral Concept? Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions:    Elizabeth: Hi Dr Cabral! Thank you for your informative podcast. I searched in past episodes & didn't find the answer to my question so I thought I'd write in. I'm a 49 year old woman & had bloodwork done for the first time a little over a year ago. Everything looked good except my ferritin was low at 9. For the next 12 months I took iron supplements 2-3 times a week & started eating more iron rich foods including red meat & beef liver pills. When ferritin was tested again it was only up to an 11. My PCP is now recommending I get an iron infusion. Are these safe? What might be the root cause of my low ferritin? I'm still menstruating but have never been heavy. I eat a balanced diet including meat & always have. I exercise 4-5x/ week. Could this just be genetic? Should I be concerned? Thx, Elizabeth            Carrieann: Hi Dr Cabral! I love listening to your podcasts. I have a rare disease called Mastocytosis. Do you have any recommendations for natural supplements that might help. I am currently taking vitamin C and Quercitin and it they do help. I would love to improve my gut but I am a little confused on how to go about doing that when I need to keep histamines low and all the things like probiotics, kimchi, bone broth are all high histamine. Thank you for your help!!                                                 Darren: Good day Dr. Cabral. I recently got diagnosed with folliculitis and eczema by a dermatologist who stated it was spurred by my skin reacting to my many sauna sessions and regular dry brushing. Unfortunate, cause I enjoy both. I abhored the idea, but the doctor recommended doxycycline antibiotics and mupirocin topical cream which did stem the constant itching, redness, flaking. I've no noticeable side effects from medication. What do you suggest I use post medication to ensure healthy gut and it reoccurring? I was thinking maybe the clean gut probiotic or daily detox. Keep up good work.                                                                                                                                                                                          Darren: Good day, Dr Cabral. It's me again. I asked this months ago, but never got a response. Maybe question got lost or your team pulled it given it can be perceived as controversial. I appreciate your Mindset & Motivational Monday shows and all the teachings from Dispenza etc about not stressing but focusing and living in the moment. However, how does one adhere to those practices if they were living in say a conflict zone where things are beyond their control like Congo, Palestine, Sudan? Where food isn't guaranteed but constant attacks are? I get if you choose not to answer on air. Keep up good work.                                                                                                                                                                                         Sheena: Hi Dr. C! Hope you are well. After doing a Food Sensitivity test, my results showed I'm allergic to cows milk dairy. Which, I already knew for years because every time I eat dairy, like clockwork, 2-3 days later, I'd break out really bad. And even though it only takes 2-3 days to happens, it takes me at least 4+ weeks to start to clear up. My question is, would it help if I were to take a Lactaid or a dairy intolerance pill? It seems that most of those pills help with gas and bloating, which I don't get. I just get really bad acne. But was hoping that I could take this before eating a meal that I'm not 100% sure about to prevent break outs. If not Lactaid, is there a pill you could recommend that could help? Thank you so much for answering my question and for being my health GURU! :)         Thank you for tuning into today's Cabral HouseCall and be sure to check back tomorrow where we answer more of our community's questions!    - - - Show Notes and Resources: StephenCabral.com/3452 - - - Get a FREE Copy of Dr. Have you ever wondered - what is the best food sensitivity test out there?Or - why are there so many tests, and how can you tell which one of the best? Back in 2021, I wrote my first podcast episode on food sensitivity tests, Episode 59// How to Choose the Best Food Sensitivity Test for You. At the time, I had NO exposure or knowledge about the food sensitivity test I'm going to be sharing with you today, so I didn't mention it at ALL. But, if I were to re-do that episode, I would HANDS DOWN have highlighted the special and unique food sensitivity test we're going to talk about today - and I would have NEVER ordered another MRT test. It is likely a food sensitivity test you've NEVER heard of (many of my clients have never heard of it before), but it is far superior to any other food sensitivity test I've come across before. To help explain exactly how and why this test is so much better than Viome, MRT, TinyHealth, or any other food sensitivity test I've looked at, I'm having on Adair Anderson, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and representative of Vibrant Wellness. Adair holds a bachelor's degree in biochemistry, a master's degree in clinical nutrition, and today, she is going to tell you all about my personal favorite food sensitivity test - the Food Zoomers. Vibrant Wellness offers a myriad of lab tests, from Lyme testing to comprehensive gut health testing, but the lab I order the most from them is their food sensitivity test. As you'll learn about on today's episode, the Food Zoomer tests your body for food sensitivities in a way that is completely different than almost every other lab out there. Whether you're a food sensitivity test veteran with dozens under your belt (and an equal amount of confusion caused by them) or you haven't yet done your first test yet - this episode is guaranteed to enlighten you and give you insight into the capacities and limitations of food sensitivity tests, and explain why doing a Food Zoomer is likely your best bet to getting SUPER clear on what foods you should and shouldn't eat to heal your gut. *Disclaimer: by having this episode out, I am NOT suggesting that you only need to eat the right food to heal. Food is, at most, only 20% of the equation to fully healing your gut. If you aren't familiar with the fact that food alone isn't enough to heal you (and what the rest of the 80% of the equation is), go to betterbellytherapies.com/training or click the link in the shownotes to get my free, full training. In this episode, I chat with Dr. Pedram Shojai to dive into the fascinating connection between your gut and your overall health. We break down neuroception — how your body subconsciously scans for safety — and why it plays such a critical role in healing and performance. We get into the gut's “second brain,” the enteric nervous system, and how it drives your physical and mental well-being without you even realizing it. Dr. Shojai also shares real-world insights on tackling dysbiosis, understanding gut-immune symbiosis, and how simple lifestyle shifts can radically improve your health. If you've ever wondered how stress, gut health, and the nervous system all tie together — and how to actually use that knowledge to feel better — this is an episode you won't want to miss. Key Takeaways: Understanding Neuroception: Neuroception refers to the subconscious detection of safety or threat in the body, playing a crucial role in both gut health and overall well-being. Gut as an Immune Organ: The gut houses the majority of the body's immune cells, acting as a critical barrier between the inside of the body and external threats. Role of Stress in Gut Health: Chronic stress can disrupt gut microbiota, leading to issues like dysbiosis and gut permeability, thereby affecting mental health. Food Sensitivities: Identifying and avoiding food sensitivities can prevent chronic inflammation, leading to better overall health. Holistic Approaches to Wellness: Emphasizing mind-body practices, such as meditation and breath work, can improve gut health by promoting a balanced parasympathetic state.   More About Dr. Pedram Shojai: Dr. Pedram Shojai is a man with many titles. Natural and artificial food dyes are ubiquitous, but some people try to avoid consuming food or beverages of a certain color for different reasons. James Tarbox, M.D., Texas Tech Physicians allergist, explains that food dyes are added to food for aesthetic purposes and are generally safe. They can cause rare allergic reactions such as hives, swelling, shortness of breath and low blood pressure. To avoid allergic reactions, Dr. Tarbox recommends consuming fresh, unprocessed foods, reading labels carefully and making meals at home.

THE BETTER BELLY PODCAST - Gut Health Transformation Strategies for a Better Belly, Brain, and Body

Happy April! As we step into the months of April and May, I (Allison) am on maternity leave. To celebrate this, we're pulling content from our group coaching calls inside our private coaching group, the Better Belly Blueprint, to share with YOU. Today's topic is from my client Elizabeth. She asked:"Is it possible that some food sensitivities are caused because of mold exposure? If so, after doing mold detox - is it possible for gluten and dairy sensitivities to go away?"Elizabeth's question comes from the fact that she got toxic mold testing inside our program that showed that she has mold colonization in her body that was part of the root causes driving her symptoms. She also got advanced food sensitivity testing showing foods she was temporarily sensitive to and foods she was permanently sensitive to. (For more information on this food sensitivity test - be sure to subscribe to hear our podcast episode on this coming out in June!)Gluten and dairy technically were on her permanent food sensitivity list, so what Elizabeth REALLY wanted to know is - can any of her permanent food sensitivities ever go away? This is a SUPER common question I get ask, and I'm so excited to share my real answer with you today!P.S. ~ If you want to ask questions to me JUST LIKE THIS ONE and get my live feedback, now you can! In this episode, I take you back to two pivotal health crises in my life: one in 2015 and another in 2017. This week, I'm focusing on the 2015 crisis—the wake-up call that led me to truly understand the connection between gut health, food sensitivities, and chronic inflammation. You'll hear about the symptoms I ignored, the treatments that didn't work, and how I finally started to heal after months of trial and error. Plus, I'm answering some of the biggest questions my clients have about what finally worked and why food sensitivities, histamine, and hormone imbalances are not the root cause of eczema.❓Questions about my journey or your own health struggles? Histamine is often misunderstood. It's blamed for allergies, hives, and frustrating symptoms like flushing, itching, and congestion. But histamine itself isn't the problem - it's a symptom of a deeper issue.Your gut plays a crucial role in regulating histamine. It houses the bacteria that break it down and keep it in balance. But when the gut is imbalanced, harmful bacteria and yeast take over, inflammation rises, and histamine starts to build up faster than your body can clear it. The result? Chronic allergic responses, food sensitivities, headaches, and even more severe reactions. And here's what most doctors won't tell you - antihistamines don't fix the root cause. While they can be life-saving in severe situations, they work by suppressing symptoms, not by addressing the underlying imbalance. Over time, they can actually make histamine intolerance worse by further disrupting the gut microbiome. You don't have to live in fear of food or rely on medication forever. You can heal.In this episode, I'll walk you through:The real reason histamine builds up in the body (hint: it's not just about your diet). Why long-term antihistamine use can make histamine intolerance worse. How to rebalance your gut so your body can regulate histamine the way it was designed to.If histamine issues have left you feeling stuck, this episode is for you. Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend! I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks…   Jacqueline: Hi Dr Cabral. Thank you! I've been feeling better already. Part of school ihp 1 -2. Here's my issues. Started with Detox 2 weeks. I had congestion after shake and mucous in my throat which is usually what happens with gluten and dairy (sensitive). I noticed dandelion root which also came up on my food sensitivities test I use 1 scoop now and take the multi Also the fruit and vegetable blend, all the grasses I have issues with so I can't use that. Question is I'm doing cbo protocol and taking all the stuff, daily detox c, d, zinc, mag, metavolve. Will the cbo protocol help these food sensitivities after I finish it? These supplements are foundation and I want to be able to use them. Thank you again. I'm so blessed I found this program.                                                                                                                                                                 Audrey: Hi Dr. Cabral, I have 2 questions regarding food labels: 1. Is peanut oil considered one of the dangerous seed oils? It's listed with pecans, Brazil nuts and almonds in a mixed nut bag 2. Are oats that say glyphosate free but not organic safe to eat? There is a brand Seven Sundays that I love and has amazing ingredients, but it does not have the “organic label” but does say glyphosate free                                                                                                                          D: Thank you for all you/team do. I love your "test not guess" approach, but I have run out of resources from lots testing in with my MD/ND. I am hopping you can help me map out what protocols would be my "Best Bet" in your experience." My primary symptoms is the inability to breathe. After a very stressful year (financially, miscarriage, moving x2, death in the family & ultra-endurance event), my body feels like it has shut down. They gave me an epipen 2x at the hospital & put me on PPI as they can't figure out why I am not able to breathe (6months). Blood/stool testing shows no allergies issues, low testosterone, high cortisol, no gut issues . Working with a breath coach & done the 21 FMD (feel about 25% better). For context I was a high performing, health conscious 40yr/ m. S&C coach.          Anonymous: Hi Dr Cabral, I listened to earlier podcasts on Ayurvedic body types (Dosha). Numbers 713, 907, 914, 922, 929, 936, 950, 969. I believe I am Vata body type. My question is about physical exercises. Walking outside is number 1 recommended cardio in those podcasts for Vata body type. Because walking does not allow to reach and stay in Zone 2, is Zone 2 cardio at all beneficial or recommended to Vata body types through inclined walking on treadmill or rowing machine? The question is due to my goal of gaining healthy weight and Zone 2 cardio for Vata may not contribute to that. I am male, 40 y.o., 5feet 7inches, 125 lbs. I did Big5, working with EquiLife health coach. I have candida and yeast overgrowth and I am in the middle of CBO protocol. Low testosterone, high evening cortisol.         Ann: Hi Dr Cabral :). Thank you for all you do for your community every day :) We appreciate you . My 23yo son had routine bloodwork and came back with very low D and very high iron. I'm addressing the D, but I am wondering if you could explain possible root causes for high iron, and possible remedies beyond decreasing red meat and not cooking in cast iron. His GP is testing to see if there is a genetic cause as well. (His TIBC and UIBC were in the normal range , Iron Sat was 58 and Iron was 191 if that is info that helps) Thank you again - have a wonderful day :)                     Thank you for tuning into this weekend's Cabral HouseCalls and be sure to check back tomorrow for our Mindset & Motivation Monday show to get your week started off right!   - - - Show Notes and Resources: StephenCabral.com/3320 - - - Get a FREE Copy of Dr.
