Can You Really Become a New Person? Names are more than labels in the Bible. They often communicate identity, family history, circumstances, and sometimes God's purpose. What happens when a beekeeper with a zoology background, a manufacturing business, and a tendency to question conventional wisdom starts redesigning beekeeping equipment? In this episode, Jeff Ott and Becky Masterman welcome Michael Mahar of 21st Bee, an Arkansas beekeeper and manufacturer who has spent years developing his own approach to bees, equipment, and even value-added honey. Michael explains how frustration with assembling and repairing conventional frames led him to design an injection-molded plastic frame intended to withstand years of abuse. He discusses communication passages built into the frames, multiple cell sizes, drone foundation, small-cell foundation, and the practical considerations behind his designs. The conversation then moves into more controversial territory: Michael's small-cell, treatment-free approach to Varroa management. Michael describes the selection process behind his locally adapted colonies, his unusual use of drone brood, and why he believes small-cell comb is only one component of a much larger management system. Becky adds important perspective on the research surrounding cell size and Varroa, while the group emphasizes that management strategies must account for location, colony genetics, neighboring beekeepers, and individual goals. This episode featured a conversation with Rahul Sonpimple, founder of the All-India Independent Scheduled Castes Association. Our conversation began with Rahul's conception of Indian history and the place of anti-caste struggle within it. We delved further into Rahul's own understanding of “anti-caste” as deeply rooted in Ambedkar's own argument about the necessity of force in emancipatory social transformation. Rahul was especially forthright about the political cost of elevating meekness as a moral condition, a choice that he associates with the rise of a Dalit middle class focused primarily on securing its own representational authority. This took us to a discussion of the need for an independent and consolidated Dalit politics rooted in the lives of the Dalit poor with sufficient leverage to negotiate terms with the state. The last part of the episode focused on Rahul's critique of both Ambedkarites and Indian Marxists for their disregard of caste as a material question. He spoke at particular length about the failure of Indian Marxists to advance a materalist critique of caste and how their analytical separation of caste and class has played into the hands of the Hindu Right. We ended the episode with Rahul laying out his own definition of Ambedkarism as a material and spiritual politics that recognizes the Dalit poor as a revolutionary class with the potential to rebuild society. Our conversation began with Rahul's conception of Indian history and the place of anti-caste struggle within it. We delved further into Rahul's own understanding of “anti-caste” as deeply rooted in Ambedkar's own argument about the necessity of force in emancipatory social transformation. Rahul was especially forthright about the political cost of elevating meekness as a moral condition, a choice that he associates with the rise of a Dalit middle class focused primarily on securing its own representational authority. CityMenderSA was created by KwaZuluNatal engineering student Keyuren Maharaj to help residents report and track local infrastructure problems, an idea sparked by his experience chairing a ratepayers' association in Durban. He told BizNews that the app began as a simple tool for documenting servicedelivery failures but has since grown into a national platform covering 36 categories of issues across South Africa.Reports logged on the app are escalated directly to municipal councils, with updates and followups managed through features like WhatsApp integration to encourage faster responses. Maharaj stresses that user privacy is central: the platform collects no personal data beyond the WhatsApp phone number. With AI now built in, CityMenderSA can estimate realtime water loss from leaks and analyse patterns across municipalities. When Maharaj ran the algorithm on seven months of Johannesburg data, even the small sample of issues logged on the app revealed hundreds of thousands of litres of water lost. Bootstrapped from the start, CityMenderSA is already available in Afrikaans, Zulu and English, with more African languages on the way. Maharaj describes it as a “virtual butler for service delivery.” Once an issue is logged, he says, users know it's being tracked, increasing the chances it will eventually be fixed.

It is tied for _________________________ in Book 2 of the Psalms with Psalm 43, although that Psalm is an extension of Psalm 42. It is in a 7 way tie for 6th shortest overall Psalm (with 15, 43, 93, 100, 125, and 127). Psalm 117 has just 2 verses, Psalms 131, 133 and 134 have 3 verses, and Psalm 123 has 4 verses. One of the interesting things about Psalm 70 is that it is almost _________________________ with Psalm 140:13-17. Do you remember which Psalm in Book 2 is almost identical to Psalm 14 from Book 1? Psalm ________________ A simple chiastic outline fits the 5 verses of Psalm 70. Verses1 and 5 have similar statements and ___________________________. Verses 2-4 have jussive, or __________________-form verbs. Verses 2-3 are imprecations on the enemy, while verse 4 is a prayer for God's people. Verse 1 has the only real difference with Psalm 40 – Verse 13 there opens with “Be pleased” O Lord. Here the song just jumps into asking for ________________________! It is okay to pray that those who have evil design toward God's people will be confused and thwarted in their efforts and come to have shame over their behavior. Of course Jesus would also now have us pray that that shame leads to turning to Christ for ____________________________. Notice the different use of seek in verses 2 and 4. The wicked seek the harm of the righteous but the righteous seek __________________. Don't miss this about so many of the prayers in the Psalms – often the Psalmist prays intensely for God to take care of the wicked, not for strength to himself ___________________ out at the wicked.
