The Auburn Tigers face a pivotal recruiting class, with top prospects continuing from the state of Maryland like 5-star defensive line recruit Tyzon Swann. Alex Golesh and DJ Durkin have done a tremendous job mining the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore areas, and they'll need that same kind of success inside the Yellowhammer State to beat Alabama for top 2028 recruits. Both programs set their sights on top in-state prospects for the 2028 class like Joey Fleming and Sam Bailey, two key linemen from the Huntsville area. Auburn's desire to catch Alabama's talent level begins in the trenches. The Tigers need at least one of those two prospects. Further, Nehemiah McCary could be the most important in-state recruit. A 6-3 240-pound edge rusher who's played a bevy of positions at the prep level, McCrary's recruitment has blown up. Bama and Auburn are expected to be prime contenders. There's also a quarterback to discuss, and the other theme of how well the Tigers can go toe-to-toe with Alabama for several Alabama high school prospects. Will Auburn land its must-have playmakers and change the recruiting narrative in the state? Support us by supporting our sponsors! Odoo Great organizations win because operations matter. It's Alex Golesh's job to guide Auburn to a winning season for the first time since 2020. Which games provide the smoothest or most treacherous paths to doing so? On the first edition of the new Auburn247 Podcast, our Nathan King, Jason Caldwell and Christian Clemente conduct our annual exercise of ranking Auburn's games on a point scale, 12-1, by confidence level.
Bryan Matthews and Jay G. Tate reconvene to discuss the most pressing news, which today centers around the Tigers preparing to attend SEC Media Days. THE MENU: We sure do miss our departed friends Phillip Marshall and Christina Chambers. Champ Anthony is an interesting choice to represent Auburn in Tampa. (Because he's not necessarily a star on the field.) Byrum Brown and Alex McPherson also are great choices. Alex Golesh is going to be who we think he is, right? RIGHT? The basketball team has everyone on campus now ... and this looks like a terrific ballclub. People aren't talking about this team, though. Why is that? Butch Thompson clearly has his ducks in a row when it came to replacing Gabe Gross as hitting coach. Nick Ammirati, aka COACH AMMO, did some incredible work at Georgia of late. ----------- Today's show is presented by ZenAI, the home of vibecasting.
