This movie will forever be iconic and not just as the girl version of "Stand By Me." The comparisons are inevitable, but reductive - especially once you've actually watched the movie, Tamar.  The legacy and cultural impact of "Now and Then" are undeniable and thanks in no small part to the cast - millennials grew up with Christina Ricci, Gaby Hoffmann, Thora Birch, and Ashleigh Aston Moore (and Devon Sawa). These girls are best friend goals, and their summer together in 1970 is an adventure we're all still chasing. If we lived in the Gaslight Addition, we'd spend our entire summer bothering Wiladene, the waitress (Janeane Garofalo) at the diner, and her fortune-telling night job. Da stört es auch kaum, dass die Lovestory mit Christina Ricci so kalt ist wie der Nebel im Dörfchen Sleepy Hollow. Und wenn Christopher Walken seine scharf geschliffenen Zähne bleckt, macht sich auch der mutigste Dorfbewohner in die Hose.
