In part two of our special month dedicated to the Wachowski's, in preparation for THE MATRIX RESURRECTIONS, we're looking at their last theatrical feature as a filmmaking duo (at least for now) - 2015's ambitious space opera, JUPITER ASCENDING. Is Mila Kunis a worthy replacement for Natalie Portman? Is Channing Tatum best utilized as a half man, half dog super soldier? And just what the hell is Eddie Redmayne trying to do here?? All these questions and more are pondered, as we scrub some toilets and then go on a wild intergalactic adventure.  Our Twitter Our Facebook Our Instagram Our YouTube Trev's Letterboxd Chris' Letterboxd

Ghostbusters Afterlife Review (starts at 1:16:50) & Disney Plus Day Announcements Breaking Geek Radio: The Podcast is about analyzing geekdom and the things we like: an in-depth examination of movies, television, and culture. Expect reviews, a look at entertainment controversies, and other fun content! This Podcast is a once a week release coming out every Friday! The Ladtastic 4 are in the house as Danny (@dannykbartlett), Jammer (@jamthewriter), Nick (@geekyNICKDOLL) and Jonesy (@sirjonesiest) react to the latest news out of Hollywood and review Ghostbusters: Afterlife. First up, the gang reacts The Matrix Resurrections posters, US and International. Why is it that international posters are almost always better than the domestic ones? Anyway, is Morpheus a red pill or cosplaying as Joaquin Phoenix's Joker? Next up, we got a bunch of trailers, starting with Pixar's Turning Red. We debate all possible meanings of the title and suggest alternates. The cutesie Teen Wolfish flick will drop March 2022. Paramount+ dropped an extremely short teaser for their upcoming Halo TV show. Who's excited for it? Find out in the episode. Lastly, we got the last (?) trailer for Marvel's Spider-Man: No Way Home. Danny's not feeling the MCU Multiversal jaunt and Dr. Jammer tries to diagnose why. Jonesy is disappointed by Marvel's reaffirmation that T'Challa would not be recast in the MCU. Quite frankly, it's bullshit and gang discusses the ramifications of what sounds like a short sighted decision. From the Star Wars side of the house, we've learned two bits of news. The first is that Kathleen Kennedy has extended her presidency over Lucasfilm for another 3 years. This hits alongside the revelation that Patty Jenkins' Rogue Squadron is delayed indefinitely, possibly due to creative differences. Later in the show, everyone chooses one announcement from Disney Plus Day as their favorite upcoming Disney projects. Jonesy tries to guess Nick and Jammer's. Finally, Jammer and Jonesy discuss the finer points of Ghostbusters: Afterlife. All this and more on this week's episode of Breaking Geek Radio: The Podcast

In 2008, the Wachowskis presented pure, uncut, psychedelic exuberance on screen for 2+ hours... and the world shrugged their stupid shoulders. But now, we're reclaiming the masterpiece that is 'Speed Racer' for its incredible cast (John Goodman, Susan Sarandon, Christina Ricci, Rain, and who could forget young Paulie Litt? Not us!), its eye-popping visuals (a neverending fall down an Alice in Wonderland rabbit hole), and the Wachowskis' form-breaking filmmaking that has us stoked for 'The Matrix Resurrections'!Go, Speed Racer! Go, Speed Racer! Go, Speed Racer, goooooooooooo!Throughout November, the NeverEnding Movie Marathon crew will answer that query with three of their favorites-- starting with the Nicolas Cage crashterpiece (or trashterpiece?), 'Con Air' (1997), then continuing with Bong Joon-ho's sleeper(car) hit, 'Snowpiercer' (2013),  coming in third is Speed Racer, before we wrap things next week with 'Planes, Trains, and Automobiles' (1987).The NeverEnding Movie Marathon is a weekly podcastic celebration of cinema. In anticipation of this December's Matrix Resurrections, we return to the world of The Matrix with 2003's The Matrix Reloaded, following up on our discussion of the original film in episode #398. Jonathan is a passionate defender of the Matrix sequels, and Sean hasn't seen them in many years, and while we don't agree entirely on how much everything works in this ambitious second installment, we absolutely believe this is a dense, fascinating film full of big, compelling ideas that are very much worth discussing in depth – as we do here for a full three hours! From the bold statement of embodied humanity that is the Zion rave, to the outrageous French stylings of the Merovingian, to the longest freeway chase ever, to the Oracle and the Architect confronting Neo with the nature of ‘free will,' The Matrix Reloaded gives us plenty to talk about, and with one movie still to go, makes this trip down Matrix memory lane very much worth the journey. Come back next week as we finish the original Matrix trilogy with our look back at THE MATRIX REVOLUTIONS! Subscribe to our YouTube Channel!Subscribe to the WEEKLY SUIT GUNDAM Podcast!Subscribe for free to 'The Weekly Stuff' in Apple Podcasts!Follow Jonathan Lack on Twitter!Follow Sean Chapman on Twitter!

Shell-shocked by the images and sounds that followed you home into the night, you open your front door and are greeted by the gentle moonlight pouring into your window. You call out, but there is no response. Eyeing the surroundings, the curtains dance with the brisk night air, but then you wonder – did someone leave the window open?    As you walk to the sliding glass door, the faint sounds of sprinklers coating the field behind your home is a welcome escape from the sirens, shrieks, and terror that has recently flipped your world upside down. Yet, you stop just before reaching the door as a pit forms at the bottom of your stomach – why is the door open, and why is no one home?   Lynne Ramsay's 2011 psychological drama, We Need to Talk About Kevin, is composed of a myriad of memories and trauma that spells disaster for those caught within it. Shocking yet serene imagery backed by a sublime score, this film places the viewer in a front row seat to the unveiling of generational trauma on-screen. Filled with ambivalence and difficult discussions surrounding nature versus nurture, this story is best experienced when diving headfirst into the dark pools of its subject matter.   With special thanks to a recurring guest and friend of the show, who also happened to pick the movie for this episode, Ashley Briglia. Welcome to Episode 396. We are joined by our good friend Joe Stark from Starkcast. For Good Pop Bad Pop in Movies this week we talk about how we feel about the new trailer for THE MATRIX RESURRECTIONS starring Keanu Reeves. MALIGNANT from James Wan is in theaters and on HBO Max. Did this horror movie live up to the hype? Netflix dropped the action revenge movie KATE this week starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Woody Harrelson. We all talk about the new Mortal Kombat animated movie MORTAL KOMBAT LEGENDS: BATTLE OF THE REALMS. Does it live up to Scorpions Revenge? Joe and Brian talk about THE ALPINIST which dropped in theaters for one night last week. In TV Brian and Joe talk about BRAND NEW CHERRY FLAVOR on NETFLIX. THE CIRCLE Season 3 has dropped on Netflix as well as the new metal art competition show METAL SHOP MASTERS. We all watched SUPERSTAR JOHN RITTER on ABC/Hulu. FROGGER from Peacock hopped onto the service and I feel gross that I just used the word “hopped” in that sentence. It's so gross. It's not funny or cute. Anyway, did we like a competition game show that's based on an 80's video game where no one is playing a video game? And we discuss what we've seen so far of THE CIRCLE Season 3. In News Y: THE LAST MAN showrunner Eliza Clark reveals how many seasons of the show she'd like to see. In Marvel News we talk about SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME rumors, when does ETERNALS take place and more.
