Doch was sind Meta-Ebenen überhaupt?

Oh cool, another franchise. I knew I was going to watch this movie sometime this month, but it wasn't until this morning that I decided today would be the day. I love the first Matrix. I've seen the two sequels... This falls somewhere in between for me. I think it's probably the best sequel even though there were moments I was had no idea why things were happening, nor did I care enough to stop and try to figure them out. I just came along for the ride, which sometimes is good enough for me.

This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history's most fearsome creatures in a new Era. The 1993 Jurassic Park was a classic. It revolutionize the blend of CGI and practical effects. It had a story based in science that . Unfortunately after the success of that movie, the franchise had been nothing more than expensive tech demos. That's especially true of the Jurassic World trilogy of films with each one getting progressively worse. These films are ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous with things that make absolutely no sense. Like how did large dinosaurs repopulate the entire world after a handful escaped an auction in the last film? Look, we get it. Sometimes ridiculous nonsense films are enjoyable (Hi Fast & Furious series). But it's really hard to turn your brain off for a ridiculous film that doesn't think it's ridiculous. Director Colin Trevorrow is no doubt trying to make a serious film with a coherent storyline which makes the ridiculousness of this film not a feature but clearly a bug.  Look, if folks just want to see some dinosaurs then that's fine. You could cut out the few and far between horror-like scenes and put them on Youtube and get your fix. When the film does that, it works. The problem is, it's full of humans your don't care about in a story that doesn't make any sense. That's par for the course at this point. What makes Jurassic World Dominion even more egregious is the blatant and heavy handed nostalgia scenes it goes for. There are times when this film will have a character from the original Jurassic Park say or do something exactly like they did it in that movie but it doesn't land because it's such a hollow attempt. Part 5 of Pinot Grigio vs THE M4TRIX  Did Jamie's food pairing recommendation for this Willamette Valley landmark help his co-host out, or did Scott still find this Pinot Gris yucky? How is RESURRECTIONS' new villain The Analyst a way for Lana Wachowski to incorporate critiques of THE MATRIX into the franchise? Is the story of 25-year-old David Lett's purchase of Oregon land sight unseen an audacious big swing or just the recklessness of youth? Is Neil Patrick Harris' eminently douchey villain an attack on therapy, a metaphor for toxic fans, a stand-in for studio execs, a misogynistic tech bro, or all of the above? Can Scott successfully draw parallels between the postmodernist philosophy of Jean Baudrillard and Jamie's least favorite wine vocabulary, or will he just be shouting about “the simulation” until he's hoarse?  Don your stylish blue glasses, have a seat in your analyst's traditional leather armchair, and press Play to answer all these questions and many more. Ep. 62:  She went from poverty in communist-era Poland to becoming the artist of choice of Silicon Valley billionaires for her renaissance-inspired conceptual art of machines and robots/ Agnieszka Pilat, Conceptual Artist. Born in the shadow of communism, in the grip of poverty, in the cradle of post-industrial Central Poland, Agnieska Pilat acted on her burning desire to leave her homeland and headed to America in 2004.    She landed in the Bay Area where a transformative book recommendation from her hairdresser, and her industrial roots in Poland, led to an epiphany which led her to start painting machines. First the traditional kind. Gears and widgets and meters and fire bells. Then — robots. One in particular, her big bright yellow 70 pound cybernetic “pet” if you could call it that / model/assistant/apprentice/Spot, on loan to her from the famed and controversial robot maker Boston Dynamics. Over the past decade, Agnieskza Pilat's classically-trained, renaissance-inspired, contemporary art around man and machine, technology and automation has gained a big following among Silicon Valley's elite billionaires. Her works of art have been acquired by collectors including Sotheby's and tech titans such as Craig McCaw, Richard Branson, Yuri Milner, and Larry Silverstein among others. Several of her paintings are featured in the latest Matrix movie, The Matrix Resurrections. Pilat has been described as an “artist who brings technology to life,” ‘the darling of Silicon Valley,” and a “technology storyteller.”  Her latest exhibition is titled Renaissance 2.0, and is an homage to Silicon Valley's renaissance. It was such a pleasure to catch up with Agnieszka Pilat about her life and her renaissance-inspired contemporary art of man and machine.
