Locked On Hoosiers - Daily Podcast On Indiana Hoosiers Football & Basketball
For the second time this spring, Caleb Love has entered the transfer portal after de-committing from the Michigan Wolverines. Will the Indiana Hoosiers, who previously reached out to Love, express interest once again? On today's episode of Locked on Hoosiers, Jacob Rude (@JacobRude) reacts to the news of Love re-entering the transfer portal. Mike Woodson and his staff recruited him out of high school and in the portal, but will a third time be the charm? Trayce Jackson-Davis and Jalen Hood-Schifino both had their time at the NBA Draft Combine wrap up after not taking part in the scrimmages. While both of them measured out a bit shorter than anticipated, each also had impressive wingspans to make up for it. The show wraps by looking at the latest mock drafts from ESPN, The Ringer, Bleacher Report and USA Today. JHS still projects to be a first-round pick while TJD's range is still late first to early second. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Birddogs Today's episode is brought to you by Birddogs. Locked On Hoosiers - Daily Podcast On Indiana Hoosiers Football & Basketball
With the NBA playoffs really getting into the swing of things, one former Indiana Hoosiers basketball player in OG Anunoby is shining. In an ever-expanding role with the Toronto Raptors, Anunoby continues to constantly improve. On today's episode of Locked on Hoosiers, Jacob Rude (@JacobRude) looks at the Hoosiers in professional basketball, ranging from the WNBA, the NBA and in the EuroCup as well. The individual season recap continues with a look at Jordan Geronimo and his season full of flashes of his big potential. In the WNBA, Ali Patberg was waived by the Indiana Fever after being drafted by them barely a week ago in a move that looks more and more like a potential publicity stunt. In the NBA, Anunoby is carrying his own in the Raptors playoff series against the Philadelphia 76ers, even if Toronto is down 3-0. Neither Juwan Morgan nor Victor Oladipo can find action on the court but Yogi Ferrell is seeing a lot of time in Slovenia playing in the EuroCup.The show wraps by looking at the season from Geronimo, who showed lots of potential with his athleticism and strength mixed with some ability to knock down threes as well. If he can make good on that potential and turn it into production, he could be a really great player for IU next season.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. Ballard doesn't make mistakes in free agency because he doesn't sign free agents, and he trades first rounders for good player instead of taking shots at great ones. Can the Colts win a championship with that style of architect? Former Indiana point guard Rob Phinisee is down to Butler and Cincinnati as his home for one more season. Cavs need a win Friday for the Pacers to reap their first round pick. Juwan Howard rumored to be top candidate to replace Frank Vogel as coach of the Lakers. LA vs. Ann Arbor? Hmmm. Ali Patberg continued to make history for the Indiana Hoosiers women's basketball team on Monday by being drafted by the Indiana Fever in the 2022 WNBA Draft. Patberg became just the first IU women's basketball player drafted since 2011 while fellow former Hoosier Aleksa Gulbe signed with the Connecticut Sun as an undrafted free agent as well.On today's episode of Locked on Hoosiers, Jacob Rude (@JacobRude) dives into another historic night for the IU program on Monday. It's an all Hoosier women's basketball episode as well as the individual season recaps continue with Chloe Moore-McNeil as well.In being selected by the Fever, Patberg became just the fourth IU women's basketball player ever drafted, joining Quacy Barnes (1998), Jill Chapman (2002) and Jori Davis (2011). However, she lands with a Fever team in a very interesting position, coming off a six-win season while having drafted SEVEN players on Monday as well. Gulbe will try to join Patberg in making a roster as well, though both will be relative longshots. In turning to a conversation on Moore-McNeil's 2021-22 campaign, the discussion focuses on a player who made huge strides during her sophomore campaign. After starting the year on the periphery of the rotation, Moore-McNeil worked her way into more and more minutes before eventually becoming a player that stepped up in a big way when Mackenzie Holmes went down with injury. By season's end, Moore-McNeil had become a huge part of the rotation and a valuable role player. Now, she figures to be a big part of the Hoosiers moving forward. While her exact role next season is hard to pin down, her versatility will allow her to be a valuable piece of the rotation in a number of different ways.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar.
