GENERATION GAB! It's the show where a millennial (Chase O'Donnell) and a gen X (John Lehr) talk about the differences of their generations. If for no other reason than to make each other laugh. Third week in quarantine and we're still facing new challenges recording remotely, but we're getting through it. John and Chase talk about whether bucket lists are important, we learn that John just celebrated 24 years of being sober, and then they discuss an article that argues that Boomers are the best generation. John is PO’d about that and has a lot to say on the subject. If you'd like to support our show, head over to www.AVGearGuy.com for 5% off your next order when you mention our podcast. BECOME A PATRON: www.patreon.com/taradevlin Another week in the United States of Serfs and Lords. Corporate Dems want us to march and wear pink scarfs, but not REALLY do anything to effect systematic change that might upset the corporate masters. Now, after Elizabeth Warren's stunt at the Dem debate where she refused to shake Bernie Sanders' hand, the entire Corporate Media establishment is piling on to smear Bernie Sanders and his supporters with lies. They call Bernie and his supporters (like Tara) "misogynists," who supposedly attack women on Twitter, yet they never seem to have examples. Even Lev Parnes brought the receipts. Where's all the examples of the supposedly prolific, misogynist, "Bernie Bros?" We'll discuss another week of madness. For most of us, if you mention Turkey - we immediately think of either a holiday destination - or Christmas Dinner! However, for Ian Burnett, it meant business opportunity, because that was his destination after he had been working in the corporate world for some time. He ended up spending several years out there, eventually coming back to the UK, whilst retaining an online presence in Turkey, to re-enter corporate life. As you’ll hear in Ian’s story, that didn’t quite work out - and so his involvement with it’s eeze Web Design began. Ian’s scale up journey is a little different, though - because it’s eeze web design is part of a franchise - something that we’ve never really discussed on ScaleUp Radio before. In this latest episode of ScaleUp Radio, Kevin Brent talks to Ian about his own scale up journey and the lessons that he has learned throughout the process. There is a lot of ground covered over the course of the conversation, including: - How to stand out in a very competitive sector - What to think about if you’re considering a franchise - The process for getting that all important first client - Keeping on top of changes in technology, particularly in a field that’s digital or IT-related What’s fascinating about Ian and his story, is his determination to make sure that people look past the fact that he’s part of a franchise. It’s HIS business, which just happens to be part of a franchise. Ian Burnett can be contacted by email ian.burnett@itseeze.com by phone 01926 356365 In each episode, Kevin Brent from BizSmart will speak to people about their business journey; how they learned to take their company to the next level - and the advice that can be passed on to other business owners and startups everywhere. Scaling up your business isn't easy, and can be a little daunting. Let ScaleUp Radio make it a little easier for you. With guests who have been where you are now, and can offer their thoughts and advice on several aspects of business. ScaleUp Radio is the business podcast you've been waiting for.
In this episode, Don takes your calls and questions, fielding queries about severance packages, pensions, short term investments and weighing the use of stocks at later stages in life. Don makes the argument that bonds can be a better choice at certain times for their stability as well as explains the big lesson that we can learn from DALBAR's 2018 study on the performance of the markets over time. Best utilization of a severance package in preparation for retirement. Pensions, IRAs and lifestyle changes while your money grows. The discouraging nature of investing without outside, expert help. Good repositories for a short term, lump sum. What the 2018 study by DALBAR proved beyond a shadow of a doubt. Should you keep investing your money in stocks in your seventies? Elizabeth Cluff was diagnosed with cancer at the young age of 37. Like many of us, with small children at home, it turned her life upside down. After treatment, she began to research what was missing the world of breast cancer. There is much information on prevention, research and awareness, but there was very little that actually helped women in the trenches - to help them feel whole again. As a result, she formed I'mpact One. Now in her second battle she is still fighting and will not stop. This show is broadcast live on Friday's at 1PM ET on W4CS – The Cancer Support Network (www.w4cs.com) and W4HC - Health Cafe Live Network (www.w4hc.com) part of Talk 4 Radio (http://www.talk4radio.com/) on the Talk 4 Media Network (http://www.talk4media.com/)
