One of my favorite Orin quotes ever: “Be the leader. Dare to be wise!” Here we are coming to the culmination of our work over the last number of weeks, being our wise, higher self. From Orin: “Your mind puts out a powerful broadcast of energy.” He goes on to tell us that our inner dialogue is important, as it determines the events people and objects that we attract. This week we use our minds to create higher energy language around our bodies, ourselves and those around us. Words matter. Some words have higher energy, for instance, love has higher frequency than like. Our practice today helps us let go of old out-dated thoughts and beliefs, replacing them with higher words such as peace, hope, harmony, well-being, joy, kindness, compassion, beauty. Your intuition is part of your sensory system. Through your intuition, you hear inner guidance from your Soul. In this practice, we explore all the ways intuition can be received by us: through our third eye, through our hearts, and through our gut. All these parts of our sensing ability can inform us of higher guidance, information and support. We use our breath to enliven our sense of intuition, making it more available and present for us. This week we update our pranayama skills with a joy-filled full practice. We do a few breaths we haven't done together in a while, filling our whole field with LIGHT. We begin with drawing silver light into our spinal cord and nervous system, illuminating us from within. We proceed on to the full practice, adding in the sound of healing for our Heart. Greetings and welcome. When we embark upon a spiritual path, at some point we come to unconditional love. This is because unconditional love is the most powerful energy in the Universe and we are made of it. We can learn to radiate this amazing light to all who we encounter, and to the world. Orin tells us that unconditional love is when we have our hearts open all the time. To do this we let go of expectations of others, letting them be exactly as they are. We could all use some peace these days. In this chapter, Orin says, “You can assist humanity in achieving peace by evolving your thoughts.” Our thoughts contribute to mass consciousness. We've all felt thrown about by constant bad news, but we don't have to stay in that place. A gentle breath exploration brings us into a clear knowing of our own energy. From this knowing we are able to know more reliably how the energy of others is affecting us. We can use the breath to bring us into alignment with our own inner knowing, and use it to clear energy that is not in harmony with ours. We can take this breath awareness out into our day, using it any time we need to clear, cleanse and realign with ourselves. Orin also shares clear techniques about how to deal with doubts: self-doubt about our ability to use our intuition or inner knowing, or doubts brought on by false ideas or beliefs learned from others. Again using our breath, we connect with our mental body, where these beliefs and doubtful thoughts reside. Chapter Two: Recognizing the Energy Around YouThis week we dive into the book, Personal Power Through Awareness. In this early chapter, we learn energy makes up everything around us and we can learn to sense that energy. In order to be able to sense energy and work with it, we cultivate a relaxed stance in the world. Orin offers the technique of making your mind go blank, or turn it into a white screen, in order to reset your energy if you are in a distressing situation or encounter feelings you would like to change. A simple powerful practice of opening to the choices that lie before us and working with energy to discern the highest, most light-filled path forward. Using our breath practice, we create a field of clear energy. We imagine 2 choices before us on something we care about, that we are stuck on, or if we are simply hitting a wall. We use our energy senses to perceive what is there in each choice A or B. We follow the energy of whichever choice felt more movement, life and energy. We add frequencies of harmony and beauty, feeling the clarity as we hold our focus and listen deeply. These days we may find we have pieces of our lives or our work that seem to be out of place, or just don't fit right. The world is evolving and changing and maybe we feel out of step. This meditation is all about harmony, harmonizing your energy and light. We first practice with our hands, touching fingertips together to harmonize the brain. Our breath deepens as we open our rib cage with this simple mudra (hand gesture). Then we open to our body of light, noticing harmony in the colors and patterns. Allowing the harmonics to develop we reach high octaves of transmissions of light. We feel the pressure of being human lift off us for a bit. We transmits this softness to others, to our home and our work. We all have times when we are overstimulated. Our nervous system feels overwrought and jagged. This episode we do several practice aimed at soothing and nourishing the nervous system. Since it's almost spring, we'll do a humming breath known as Bee Breath. Just a humming sound that moves around the head and face, stimulating the nervous system and harmonizing the Vagus Nerve. From there we practice Smiling Breath, an uplifting easy breath that harmonizes us and brings joy and upliftment. After our pranayama, we work with white and silver light to nourish and support the nervous system. This rich abundant light cools our thoughts, moving all around the body and our body of light to organize and purify our entire being. Welcome to the Abundance Reset. This expansive rich practice will teach you, step by step, how to contact and open to the essential Abundance of Creation. Reality is inherently abundant. We open to that abundance in these steps:Notice native/natural abundance. Abundance that makes you feel uplifted or at least neutral. Ignore the abundance of unwanted circumstances or things. Cultivate joy in the small things. Coffee, walks, dogs that wag their tales, smiles from others.Be grateful for the blessings of others. This means being genuinely happy for the prosperity of others, unattached to any benefit to you. Make it easy on yourself for now: choose others that you like. Stop asking “Why me?” or “Why us?” Just start from where you are. Here.Show your faith by giving some away. To others with no strings. Start small.Repeat as needed. You will need it over and over. This amazing idea of forgiveness as a form of pain relief was shared with me by a woman named Margaret. It speaks to the unrecognized pain we all live with by carrying around unforgiven hurts or ways we've not forgiven ourselves for our failings. In this practice we use the power of the breath to bring the unforgiven to the surface and breathe into it, allowing the possibility that we can release it. Breath upon breath we fill with light and gentleness, letting it wash away that which has come to consciousness. We use our growing relationship with our own Inner Being or Guide to recognize truth of situations. Even when we have been wrong or hurt others, we can find a way to forgive ourselves for our shortcomings. Allow growth and self-knowledge to make us better humans. We are lighted beings. We can learn to recognize and build our radiance using the breath and the frequency of Peace. We begin by breathing into our physical lungs and heart, circulating the breath and prana. We extend that light to the entire body, which begins to sparkle with Light. Next we breathe light into our emotional body, circulating the light and cleaning anything that needs to be released. Next is the mental body, which becomes fluid and clear so we can lift into the higher mind and hear more clearly our guidance. Finally we find the brilliant shining etheric body, which unites all of our being. It too fills with more and more light as we breathe into it. We fill with the light of Peace, which folds all patterns into one harmonious energy. We begin to flow with the power and dynamic energy of peace. We begin to understand on every level how we can increase the peace of the world by being peace in our own being. Have you ever seen videos of people surfing waves that are 40-50 feet high? They glide down the face of the huge vertical plane of water, which could and sometimes does sweep them away? These times may sometimes seem like we are being followed by a huge wave that threatens to knock us off our feet and sweep us away like broken sticks upon the ocean. What you may not see or realize when you watch those videos is that the surfers are surrounded by helpers! People on jet skis and in boats, ready to snatch them out of the jaws of crashing white foam when then are done with their ride, or get wiped out. We too have helpers all around us. Some seen, some invisible. Assisting us at all times, when we open and release to receive. Also, we are preparing to meet that giant wave, working on our skills from the inside out. So when life does bear down upon us with events and situations that are out of our control, we are able to ride with confidence. Also, learn to swim. Beginning with a new practice, Solidifying the Breath, we learn how to concentrate the breath deep in the body with a hand gesture and smooth breath. This practice allows the breath to solidify as energy deep within the body, creating open space for more breath while clearing the mind. After our regular practice, we venture into the divine world, recognizing all creation is based upon divine patterns. Deep listening. Following the sound of the inner voice. Learning to discern your inner guidance as uplifting, nurturing, kind and soothing. We can learn to find our place in the pattern by using our imagination at first in the inner realms. We as human beings are an essential link in the cosmic web. In our embodiment, we join heaven and earth energies. We begin today with stretching and settling into our bodies. We notice a stream of light energy from the heavens flowing into our heads and down to our feet. After a few breaths, we begin to draw energy up from the earth into our bodies. The energies begin to set up a union of heaven and earth through our focus. This is easily done as a playful exercise. After our pranayama, we notice our aura and body of light, filling in the frequencies of light and color, patterns of harmony. We begin to lift our earth reality to the higher octave of light. We also follow the energy down to the earth plane, imbuing ordinary reality with light and energy from the higher realms. The two become one. We have so many opinions and sentiments about abundance. This week, we use our awareness of how the breath moves in the body, especially when we are in the top of the breath and letting the breath flow out. Air is inherently abundant on our planet earth. When we notice the fluid flowing breath, we find abundance and recognize the nourishment of breath. As we expand into breathing as our Divine Self, we know that qualities such as harmony, peace and love are all infinitely abundant. We recognize our inherent ability to sense our divine self and expand into its awareness. We begin to find our place in the divine plan. The divine plan does not require surrender of self but becomes an enhancement of self, for as you find the place where you can offer the highest and best of who you are, the plan returns to you a flow of high quality purity that buoys you higher and higher. This episode marks the beginning of a new exploration of Breathing as Your Divine Self. What does that mean? We will be exploring what is the Divine Self, how we can expand our awareness of ourselves in this larger wholeness and what it means to breathe in this way. We start with some exploration of our Optimum Breath, opening our capacity to breathe in a way that is balanced for our activity, fluid and flowing and open in all areas of the breathing space. We use the breath to clear our minds and settle the emotional body. Moving on from our pranayama practice we then find ourselves using the imagination to sense, play and open to the energies of our greater being. We use the power of breath to expand into potentials for new openings, new vistas, finding what is moving toward us in the greater world, connecting to purpose. We finish by breathing into any portion of the physical body that needs attention or focus at this time. Welcome to what's next for you. Two links below recognizing the people of Maui as they use their sacred waters to create a cleansing ritual known as a Paddle Out. This paddle out had over 1000 surfboards and riders, all singing their hearts into the light of the ocean. Many had not seen each other or their Lahaina home since the fires last month. Trigger alert: The longer of the two videos has views of the fires and the burned landscape. The shorter video has only video of the water and surfers and some local people sharing with the reporter. In the breathing practice we find clear energies and openings. We refresh our pranayama and notice all the light it brings into our being. The sphere of light all around us, our etheric body or aura, shimmers with new energies. Noticing all that we can bring in that creates more and more beauty, sounds, colors, memories, joy, love, peaceful flow. As we move deeper into the meditation, we lift higher, noticing whatever may be ready to shift for us first as energy, then as color or patterns or waves of heart-full emotion. Light pours in, refreshing and renewing us. Aloha everyone. This episode is a special sharing of spiritual Light for the island of Maui, her people and all those affected by the fires of August 8, 2023. The guides have called this episode Circles of Light. In Hawaii, there is a word for family and it is Ohana. OHana can be pictured as a circle of light. You can have an ohana that is your family, your neighborhood can be your ohana, or your work friends. Ohana is flexible and inclusive.In this powerful meditation, we start with our breath, breathing as one. We engage with the spiritual light of our own practice, calling forward our connection to the spiritual realms and breathing that light into our being. Harmony, compassion, beauty, love. Recognizing our light, we reach out to for a pattern of lighted spiritual nourishment with all those participating in our meditation. Recognizing the ancient banyan tree that is the symbol of Hope in Lahaina, we offer our pattern of light that it might help clear the ash, cleanse the wounds, salve the hearts, and uplift all into the light of love. Hope is a radical act of braving the future and daring to imagine the highest and best coming into being. We offer this light of hope that it may become food and sustenance and a future that is filled with love and blessing.
